Problem with all the 74u's I've owned are the weak screw hole of the front sight. 6/7 of them all cracked or just broke off.

I'm pretty sure Spetnaz don't use this one they rather use the VSS for close combat or pistol, their main weapon is the Ak74m (With solid folding stock.)

I like what you did with the magnets. For the love of god don't drop this on the iron site assembly it and you flash hider will literally snap off! I like your reviews you tell it how it is no fluff or egos involved. I bought a boneyard CM.035 and dropped a TM Spestnaz gearbox, an excellent base gun for upgrades. Any pointers as to how i can fabricate a drop in RIS top hand guard to mount an optic?

@nvenda not at all! Steel is cheap to produce and that's why real AKs were made of it.

@nvenda I have a CM048 and it's receiver is definitely steel, including some other parts of the gun. Sadly, CYMA's newer AKs are not full steel. Some of DBoy's AKs are full steel and only cost 150-210 dollars. The material of the gun isn't the only thing that judges it's cost.

@STMaster95Z It kinda does. Dboys externals are good but their internals suck and almost as expensive as CYMA. CYMA's externals aren't as good as DBOYS but thier internals blow Dboys away. I can upgrade internals though.

(1) Why is the title "AKS-74U" (i assume because that's what everyone knows it as)

(2) i Would worry about airsoft versions, i don't trust their construction as much as a real steel AK

@Monkymonkykli The AKS-74U was originally made for vehicle crews, artillery crews and such, these are rarely seen on frontline units. Spetsnaz have been favoring the AKM and AKMS in chechnya, and pimped out AK-74s in Dagestan.
