Oh man. Thank you for this. You are awesome. You're one of the rare people who speaks clearly, explains things in detail, and has very nice video quality so I can actually see what you're clicking. It's rare that I find a tutorial as good as this. Nice job, man.
For bone sketching to work, you need to have your armature selected and be in Edit mode. If you do that, then pressing P brings up the bone sketching panel.
Could you make a yafray tutorial for 2.49? I can't make any, caustic effects with the new yafray. And I don't know how to do it? So could you please make a tutorial on that? :) thanks
IK is short for "Inverse Kinematics" and it's a powerful tool for rigging and animation. It's a deeper topic than I can really cover in a YouTube reply, but there are quite a few resources on the web to help you with seeing how it works.
Just mouse gestures? Are you pressing Ctrl before left-clicking? Left-click+drag should be the only way to get gestures. Ctrl+left-click+drag will give you a lasso select. Are you perhaps using Shift+left-click+drag?
I was doing Ctrl+left-click+drag instead of just Ctrl+left-clicking at a point. I also just found that you CAN make that work if you click in the little circle that has the arrows coming out of it. Linux Kubuntu 8.04 64 bit. LOVE IT! Not so sure about KDE 4 but Love KDE 3.
It's not so much a matter of which is better. Bone heat is a great starting point that often doesn't need further tweaking. However, on the occasion that bone heat doesn't give you quite the deformation that you want, you can use weight painting to tweak and fix it.
Unfortunately, according to Blender's possibilities, I have 0.000012% experience with Blender... xD
