One thing is now certain, we will have a VERY LIBERAL, PRO WAR President until 2016. Strange too, since according to people like Rush Limbaugh, we have a very "conservative" voting population. I don't think the people who listen to Rush & call themselves "conservatives" even understand what being a "CONSERVATIVE" means. Props to Larry Kudlow for always giving Ron Paul a good interview! He actually knows a thing or two about the Fed and monetary policy, all too uncommon among mainstream news anchors.
Gold, that is stupid. Who controls the price of GOLD (Banks), who digs up gold? (mining industry) Link to Dollar to Land or something people need, we don't need gold. Gold is useless. End the FED and limit them from making money. Great Ron, 15% interest rates :O(

A gold coin bought two goats two thousand years ago and buys two goats today.
Ron Paul does not want to force Americans to use the Dollar. Choice, Americans would have choice to use competing currencies. 15% would be nothing, Volker did worse to stabilize the fiat Dollar in the 1980's.
I am a staunch Paul supporter but he slipped up in the beginning, and he should know better as a follower of Austrian economics. He said "The dollar would be convertible into gold at a fixed rate...". The rate cannot be fixed. He forgot Gresham's Law!!
@douggiephresh1985 I'm a follower of Austrian economics and don't understand your point. According to the austrian school, we don't fix the rate, we make the dollar convertible into gold. This can only be done with a 100% backed gold dollar. This is what Dr. Paul was saying, fixed in this way, not arbitrarily like in the Bretton Woods accord.
The currency should be redeemable in both gold and silver, this would help relieve scarcity in the money supply that usually comes with the gold standard.

Anytime someone post, "ron paul 2012", I honestly believe it is a grave attempt of telling this old retiree, on the government dole, what year it is.
@Roonskii Ah yes his investments in mining are because he wants a gold currency in order to make... a small sum likely to number under a million.... yessss..... excellent.
Or it could be because he knows precious metals will continue to be a stable investment in an inflationary economy.
Instead of cutting programs to help people, why doesn't Ron Paul ever mention anything about keep corporations and the wealthy from cheating on their taxes? Why does he only act like there is one side to the equation of balancing the budget? He's a fucking idiot. I hate him.
How much do you want people to pay? Everything? Corp taxes only takes money away from employees, vendors, and the owners of the corps and gives it to the gov't to spend. Do you think the gov't can spend your money better than you can? It's obvious that you believe it can spend rich people's money better than they can (thieves think this way as well), but can it spend your money better than you can?
lol. What programs is he cutting that helps people? If people pay 0 taxes the wealthy can't cheat. lol. You clearly don't understand economics and Ron Paul's message. But to declare that you hate him? What are you 12? If he dosn't do what he has planned , America's economy collapses and EVERYBODY DIES. Well ,they will put you in the FEMA camps first and then you die. Your the "idiot" and yet I don't "hate" you. Research and learn. How can people be blind to the collapse coming
@YouAreOneOfUs people who want handouts and licking the crumps out of the .gov pig trough hate him.
People who are willing to work, understand how real wages increase under a strong gold based currency, and want their money to hold value to where they can make their own decisions and their kids might be better off than they are, like him when they understand him.
It's hard to get those that feel like they're helpless even to do for themselves to agree to his policies.
@Premier112 the 1% are taking more handouts anyone and screwing everyone else out don't say that some aren't willing to work when the 1% controls the nation.
@ShotzDrop Well. Dammit. Leftist economic policy of bailouts, was created by leftists.
So don't come bitching and blaming at me when Your damn political ideology bites you in your ass and Your damn economic scheme fails, like "I" freaking did it.
I'm the f'in one voting for Ron Paul who was against the bailouts, against giving the GSE's low interest spending money, to insinuate they would buy all bad loans up, which was the cause of the crisis and why banks lent the subprime loans.
@ShotzDrop They played you liberals like a damn fiddle.
"Oh yeah sounds wonderful, free easy loans for everybody and we can go tell our constitutencies they can have a house they can't afford because we're a bunch of humanitarians. Let's all get banks to make loans they wouldn't otherwise because they'd loss their ass, love them while Clinton and that Bush guy does it in their terms, and them when it fails we've already preguaranteed to bail them out. Then we'll blame the free market people.
@Premier112 Because everybody knows preguaranteeing banks that flop on their loans in one way or another, now that's some free market right there. Creating GSE'swith specially allowed lower interest borrowing rates to buy up subprime loans in bundles to do it, the idea and policy created And sponsed by progressive economists, now that is some free market.
Yeah let's blame free markets. Oh and deregulation. Oh wait we Cheered Them F'in On! Because hey, more houses some people couldn't afford.
@Premier112 Silly dumb free marketers & their doom and gloom "bubble talk" they're crazy. Let's do everything freaking thing we can to target specific regulations, be in bed with banks more than ANY Damn body that has this "free market talk", & when we fugidalup with our own concocted policy, let's throw horseshit at the free market peoples & even then continue to insist on calling them crazy. We'll figure out how to make our Dr. Seuss regulatory pyramid work right eventually. Let's experiment.
@ericzum why don't you tell us who you blindly support and why? After that, please give us a link to your candidate that WON'T end up in REAL BULLSHIT. Why don't you tell us all why you don't support the constitution or liberty. Why don't you give us some real reasons why Ron Paul is a bad choice. We do not want to hear you Mainstream media opinionated response. Do us all a favor and wake up, join reality, DO RESEARCH!
@axs5530 Tell me, do Ron Paul still neglect to support the constitution when it comes to separation of church and state? "The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers." -Ron Paul 2003
@Atomicnumber27 Please cite where the constitution says exactly this? Actually, it says that the congress shall write no law favoring OR hindering the establishment, practice, or preaching of religion. So, when taking that in retrospect to Ron Paul's statement, I'd have to agree that the government has done everything it cane to actually repress religion.
(for clarity on the bias of my opinion, I am not religious and am an renounced christian)
@kevinpeno "In case after case, the Supreme Court has used the infamous 'Separation of Church and State' metaphor to uphold court decisions that allow the federal government to intrude upon and deprive citizens of their religious liberty." -Ron Paul. What exactly has the government done to repress religion?
@Atomicnumber27 Oh, darn, I don't know. "God" cannot be used when saying the national anthem? (not that I care really) Churches cannot donate to campaigns? (yet Exxon mobile can) Schools cannot have a discussion (note I said discussion not teach) around creationism vs. evolution. Seriously, where hasn't the state gone after the state?
@kevinpeno Actually singing the national anthem and including the judeo-christian god is violating the first amendment. Why should churches donate to campaigns? Aren't they houses of god, not houses of politics? Why don't schools have a discussion whether or not Thor is responsible for lightning?
@Atomicnumber27 The key point I'm trying to make is, why is the state involved at all? The constitution is about limited government, not one that makes laws through judgement (especially). Why is religion, a social issue, even a topic.
@Atomicnumber27 It doesn't need to be involved in the state, but equally, the state should not be involved in it. There is no legislation making law that says not saying "god" in the pledge of allegiance, which I incorrectly called the national anthem before, is required by said law. Not only can you omit that word, but you can also omit the pledge.
@Atomicnumber27 The fact that we are even discussing religion shows that the state has grown in power so much that we no longer have control over it. Abortion is another example of this. Pro-life or not, the discussion of abortion only exists because of Roe v. Wade which, if it had never happened, would only be an issue between a patient and her doctor.
Rates would shoot up and that would destroy the economy.
Savers would be living in a destroyed economy and their daughters would be kidnapped by the massive army of the unemployed. Ron Paul is a banana Republican. He wants to turn the U.S. into a banana republic.
@ReliableInsider LMAO!!! Like we're not already there !!! Take away the corruption and overspending at both Federal and State level and unemployment would probably reach 50%. Get real, dude. What "savers"? Who has money to save anymore? The Rich? Paul isn't for the 1%. They hate him.
Learn economics. We are Greece and there is no escaping that. But keep demanding more gov't and debt and see where that gets you. I have no pity on what is coming to people like you. This pain is necessary to educate people such as yourself.
There is far too much suffering going on already.
If pain were a good thing, the economy would be paradise by now.
Needless suffering benefits no one. There is no demand. Weak companies are being weeded out by the economy already. A dramatic increase in interest rates would just destroy all the strong companies and everything else.
Bush bailed out the banks. Obama bailed out General Motors.
Where are the millions of companies that have been bailed out? They're all going bankrupt already without any help from Ron Paul at all.
Ron Paul is an ideologue. That means he clings to principles even when they lead to absurd conclusions such as the idea that we need higher interest rates and a destroyed economy. That's absurd.
We have too many companies going bankrupt at the moment, not too few.
@ReliableInsider So tired of retards like you. Only companies that are wealthy enough lobby your government for special contracts and bailout money. Your government plays favourites with the biggiest campaign donators so these people stay in power. They are the same companies that can borrow money for free. Ron Paul is going to make the system fair for everyone. Quit this cold turkey and get it the fuck over with. You sound like a junkie who is lying his ass off for 1 more hit.
The government doesn't give bailouts to corrupt companies. It gives them special tax cuts, especially oil companies and tobacco companies.
When has Ron Paul ever successfully lobbied against any of that? Never.
What Ron Paul should be worried about is the Citizens United decision that ended campaign finance reform and created SuperPacs. We now have unlimited contributions which will mean unlimited corruption.
@ReliableInsider The government doesn't give corrupt companies bailout money..... Hmmmmm really ? Fannie and freddie seemed pretty corrupt so did goldman and sachs. Go look at the contributions to the superpac's and to Ron campaign. Follow the money smart guy. Ron Paul always voted agains't that shit, go look at his record. I can tell you really haven't looked at anything have you. Quit trolling.
@ReliableInsider 1) Tax breaks is giving money and picking sides.
2) Not my fault America elected a bunch of retards into office. Jesus was one man.
3) Ilive in Canada and our healthcare sucks and it is not free, it takes months to get certain tests done. Thats why alot of Canadians go to America to pay for it to have it done right away. Also having insurance doesn't stop people from being hit by a car, it doesn't save anyone. Mc Donalds doesn't need to pay for Obama's
@ReliableInsider Medicare because it would be to expensive for the company. So now what hyou have created in a biased unfair advantage to Mc Donalds. How are other companies going to compete when Mc Donalds lobbied your governemt so effectively ??? It's crony capitalism.
@ReliableInsider This is the problem with America. Rich people and companies lobby your government for special favours and/or programs to pass, whether it is good for the people or not. The government then lies and sells the idea to a bunch or retards (Majority of America ) and people accept it, not knowing how they just fucked themselfs. Kinda like doing a deal with the devil. The companies/rich people now fund the campaigns of these government employees to keep them in power.
@ReliableInsider No what you need is to follow your constitution, you should switch sides and vote for RP. If everyone appointed and elected follow your constitution you wouldn't have any problems and it would give the power back to the people, this would allow you to control your government better and custom design your own state. Washington imposing everything has landed you into a dictatorship... You now have no control. A vote for anyone other then RP is a vote for the same.
@ReliableInsider Lol, Barrack Obama believes in the constitution like I believe in the toothfairy. How is NDAA, Patriot Act, SOPA, BAILOUTS, THE FED constitutional ??? Ron Paul has stolen the young vote, the source of Obama's power lol. Just ask yourself what has changed ??? Your in more wars now. Getting U.N approval to go to war is also unconstitutional. Sounds like he's all talk. Also who is his biggiest campaign contribitor ??? GOLDMAN SACHS, same people that got bailed out.
@ReliableInsider I agree neither party is. Both parties always do the same. Who cares about Mitt Romney or Newt or Santorum. Ron Paul can and will beat Obama, he polls right beside him because Paul takes the youth vote, Independants and disinchanted Rep and Dems. Romney.Newt or Santorum have no chance of beating Obama. You should stand for integrity in yourself rather then whats your favourite team my friend. If am I wrong nothing happens, but if I am right, then your fucked !!!
@chadalopolous To tell you the honest truth, I watch really closely whats happening in the world and I can tell you it's not good. All these wars and huge transfers of money and missing money is all because WW3 is coming. Look at the big picture. AFG,IRAQ,SYRIA ALL BORDER IRAN, now Russia and China both stated that a attack on Iran is a ATTACK ON THEM. If you think attacking them is anything like Iraq then you live in a world of lollypops and moon pie's. Ron Paul or Drafted
@peng1965a Also, it will be over pretty quickly. Only we will have to struggle a little more. But we will not pass on a third world country to our children.
@svack5 O a's;lkj ew iov s[o 'dcam bit ac ac cmap cam dp mp mopt cam not do aif iaf you can bj wee what his in a f;lewfron of of aby mayour face. Peebumpoopface
@svack5 Again:....You may be right. Our entire economy is propped up only by corruption and overspending. Paul WOULD knock it down. But, it will come down anyway....it's just a matter of time. At least with Paul, we can have the satisfaction of watching the corrupt go down with us.
Like most "conservative" Republicans, I'm in favor of printing as much money as we need to start as many wars as we possibly can. Hopefully we can attack Iran & have a big nuclear exchange with Russia & China. I'm still undecided on President, but I've narrowed it down quite a bit. I like Mitt, Newt, Rick & Barack. All would make EXCELLENT WARMONGERING leaders. Please don't vote for this crazy guy Ron Paul because he'll RUIN all of our great wars and we'll be stuck with peace & prosperity.
@SCLARK2112 well said buddy. I like the approach, I will try to follow your lead from now on. Peace and prosperity is for sissies, who the hell wants that when we can bomb brown people and watch it on CNN and Fox. Where's my doritos and soda?
Obama = Bush actually no, Obama grew up on food stamps and represented the not so affluent part of Chicago, where as Bush came from the elite so Barry is worse
Hell, I can remember prime interest rates being 12 plus %. My first mortgage in 1984 was 13.5% and that was not from old break a leg, that was from a standard mortgage company. People under the age of 30 could not imagine such a thing. On the other hand the average person had all kinds of tax deductions and you could make 10, 12, and even 14% returns on a CD. Even a passbook savings acct got you upwards t 6 to 8%, and the dollar was worth twice what it is today. Gasoline was 1.00 a gal.
@62636263c In march of 1981 the fed rate, ( the interest the fed charges banks to borrow money) was 19%. The average mortgage rate is 3 to 5 % above that. I was 18 years old. bought my first home in 84 after getting out of the Navy.
when you watch the debates the other candidates are not very detailed at all about cutting spending. a lot of them want to put a lot of money towards big pointless things, actually. Ron Paul can tell you not only what he will do, but why it works, from an economic viewpoint.
our fiat money is worth less than monopoly money. our jobs are over seas. we can't live on credit and our debt is the greatest threat to our national security.
Ron Paul is lying through his teeth! "No candidate wants to cut spending in real terms" That is absurd! I know of one candidate that actually wants to cut 1 trillion dollars in his first year.
@forscience what are you watching no candidate has proposed anything your high off your ass. If you think Barack Obama will cut anything he will not and no republican has said anything.
@ShotzDrop Idiot, he's talking about Ron Paul's promise to cut a trillion dollars. Maybe you should leave your video games and sports and actually educate yourself a little bit before insulting people and accusing them of being high.
@NathanielEverist He will though are you such an idiot to blindly think your intelligent your clearly a retard who listens to mass media and is a slave to them. Your the retard who doesn't see corruption of course there going to say he won't cut it. Because the mass media is against ron paul because it destroys corporate interest. Realize you have no say in goverement its all business interest until you realize that you can't even understand government. its simple C.R.E.A.M that is the U.S.
@ShotzDrop That's rich, coming from somebody who doesn't even understand basic English grammar. You don't know anything about me, I haven't listened to a word the mainstream, propaganda media has said since 9/11. I see the corruption, and I obviously understand government better than you, considering you've already demonstrated your lack of knowledge of the various candidate's policies. I agree with what you said about how American government is all business interest.
Yeah ron paul, cut ourselves into a depression, destroy our economy like europe is doing to itself all over with non-stop austerity despite what we've learned about economics in the past 100 years that says to do other, WHOO!
@Juggalo4Peace If we bit the bullet like he says in '08 and liquidated everything, no bailouts ect... we would be seeing consistent growth right now and would be moving up not down.
'Europe is doing to itself with non-stop austerity'.
Why would you make such false analogy?.
Ron Paul is NOT for austerity measures, he's actually for the opposite. Instead of squeezing money out of the people (through austerity measures), to bail out and prop insolvent institutions. He's advocating drastic reduction in wasteful federal spending (wars), whilst at the same time lowering taxes for everyone.
That's not austerity, he's on the other side of the spectrum.
'learned in economics the past 100 years say to do the other'.
You mean the same guys, that with their vast knowledge CAUSED the problem to begin with?.
Why would you listen to them?.
Keynesian economic thinking is what originated this mess, maybe we should start listening to the people who predicted it, and offers sensible alternatives.
Austerity measures are endorsed by Keynsians, just fyi.
One thing is now certain, we will have a VERY LIBERAL, PRO WAR President until 2016. Strange too, since according to people like Rush Limbaugh, we have a very "conservative" voting population.
Premier112 4 weeks ago
@ShotzDrop They played you liberals like a damn fiddle.
"Oh yeah sounds wonderful, free easy loans for everybody and we can go tell our constitutencies they can have a house they can't afford because we're a bunch of humanitarians. Let's all get banks to make loans they wouldn't otherwise because they'd loss their ass, love them while Clinton and that Bush guy does it in their terms, and them when it fails we've already preguaranteed to bail them out. Then we'll blame the free market people.
Premier112 4 weeks ago

Let's experiment.

axs5530 1 month ago
@axs5530 Tell me, do Ron Paul still neglect to support the constitution when it comes to separation of church and state? "The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers." -Ron Paul 2003
Atomicnumber27 1 month ago
@Atomicnumber27 Please cite where the constitution says exactly this? Actually, it says that the congress shall write no law favoring OR hindering the establishment, practice, or preaching of religion. So, when taking that in retrospect to Ron Paul's statement, I'd have to agree that the government has done everything it cane to actually repress religion.
(for clarity on the bias of my opinion, I am not religious and am an renounced christian)
kevinpeno 1 month ago
@kevinpeno "In case after case, the Supreme Court has used the infamous 'Separation of Church and State' metaphor to uphold court decisions that allow the federal government to intrude upon and deprive citizens of their religious liberty." -Ron Paul. What exactly has the government done to repress religion?
Atomicnumber27 1 month ago
@Atomicnumber27 Oh, darn, I don't know. "God" cannot be used when saying the national anthem? (not that I care really) Churches cannot donate to campaigns? (yet Exxon mobile can) Schools cannot have a discussion (note I said discussion not teach) around creationism vs. evolution. Seriously, where hasn't the state gone after the state?
kevinpeno 1 month ago
@kevinpeno Actually singing the national anthem and including the judeo-christian god is violating the first amendment. Why should churches donate to campaigns? Aren't they houses of god, not houses of politics? Why don't schools have a discussion whether or not Thor is responsible for lightning?
Atomicnumber27 1 month ago
@Atomicnumber27 The key point I'm trying to make is, why is the state involved at all? The constitution is about limited government, not one that makes laws through judgement (especially). Why is religion, a social issue, even a topic.
kevinpeno 1 month ago
@kevinpeno The better question is, why does the church need to be involved in the state?
Atomicnumber27 1 month ago
@Atomicnumber27 It doesn't need to be involved in the state, but equally, the state should not be involved in it. There is no legislation making law that says not saying "god" in the pledge of allegiance, which I incorrectly called the national anthem before, is required by said law. Not only can you omit that word, but you can also omit the pledge.
kevinpeno 1 month ago
@Atomicnumber27 The fact that we are even discussing religion shows that the state has grown in power so much that we no longer have control over it. Abortion is another example of this. Pro-life or not, the discussion of abortion only exists because of Roe v. Wade which, if it had never happened, would only be an issue between a patient and her doctor.
kevinpeno 1 month ago
@Atomicnumber27 damn typos. Strike "exactly" from the first sentence and replace "cane" for can.

Rates would shoot up and that would destroy the economy.
Savers would be living in a destroyed economy and their daughters would be kidnapped by the massive army of the unemployed. Ron Paul is a banana Republican. He wants to turn the U.S. into a banana republic.
ReliableInsider 1 month ago
@ReliableInsider LMAO!!! Like we're not already there !!! Take away the corruption and overspending at both Federal and State level and unemployment would probably reach 50%. Get real, dude. What "savers"? Who has money to save anymore? The Rich? Paul isn't for the 1%. They hate him.

Learn economics. We are Greece and there is no escaping that. But keep demanding more gov't and debt and see where that gets you. I have no pity on what is coming to people like you. This pain is necessary to educate people such as yourself.
razerfish 1 month ago
@razerfish
There is far too much suffering going on already.
If pain were a good thing, the economy would be paradise by now.
Needless suffering benefits no one. There is no demand. Weak companies are being weeded out by the economy already. A dramatic increase in interest rates would just destroy all the strong companies and everything else.
ReliableInsider 1 month ago
@ReliableInsider Weak companies? Yeah except those bailed out by progressive liberal economic policy.
Premier112 1 month ago
@Premier112
ReliableInsider 1 month ago
@ReliableInsider So tired of retards like you. Only companies that are wealthy enough lobby your government for special contracts and bailout money. Your government plays favourites with the biggiest campaign donators so these people stay in power. They are the same companies that can borrow money for free.
ReliableInsider 1 month ago
@ReliableInsider The government doesn't give corrupt companies bailout money..... Hmmmmm really ? Fannie and freddie seemed pretty corrupt so did goldman and sachs. Ron Paul votes against spending.
What he doesn't do is rally other Congressmen to vote against spending. So the net effect is zero.
What matters are the bills that actually pass.
And he votes against Medicare and Medicaid, spending that actually saves lives.

Mc Donalds doesn't need to pay for Obama's
chadalopolous 4 weeks ago
@ReliableInsider Medicare because it would be to expensive for the company. So now what hyou have created in a biased unfair advantage to Mc Donalds. How are other companies going to compete when Mc Donalds lobbied your governemt so effectively ??? It's crony capitalism.
chadalopolous 4 weeks ago
@ReliableInsider This is the problem with America. Rich people and companies lobby your government for special favours and/or programs to pass, whether it is good for the people or not. The government then lies and sells the idea to a bunch or retards (Majority of America ) and people accept it, not knowing how they just fucked themselfs. Kinda like doing a deal with the devil. The companies/rich people now fund the campaigns of these government employees to keep them in power.

Romney would obviously appoint more of the same. We need a Democratic President appointing our U.S. Supreme Court or democracy will be history.

What do you mean by 'make it all collapse'?.
Do you mean letting bankrupt companies go bankrupt?, yes.
Does it mean, to put an end to bailing out rich investment companies that made bad choices, at expenses of the tax-payers?, yes.
What would that accomplish?, would the tax payers be harmed if we did such things?, no.
Look at Iceland.
The only ones who will suffer, are those responsible, as it should be.
