not a romanian.. romanian is not bending the legs. Romanian is all lower back and they are very bad for you. Also your back will respond to romanian deadlifts with lower weight. Using 200+ unless a pro powerlifter is generally too much for romanian deadlifts.
@sh4dowz247 The Romanian deadlift variation places most of the emphasis on the hamstrings and lower back. This variation is better suited for higher reps and lighter weights then the conventional and sumo deadlifts. The legs are kept almost straight through the movement, with just a SLIGHT BEND IN THE KNEES TO TAKE STRESS OFF THE TENDONS.
On top of that, my personal best Deadlift in the USAPL RAW Division is 560 lbs. And I have about a 5 first place titels in Powerlifting.
A powerlifter at my gym told me to bend the knees to a 90 degree angle, keeping the back straight, puffing the chest out and lifting with the legs and "humping" the bar when you start to go above knee height. I can lift a lot heavier using the technique you use in this video, in your experience though, what do you think gets better results?
@B4IFLY two different types of deadlifts there bro, that powerlifter was talking about the conventional deadlift, which in all truth helps you lift heavier than stiff-legged deadlift.
You just need your CNS to get used to incorporating your legs into the lift.
I notice you bend your knees. Are you supposed to bend your knees at all? I have been keeping my knees completely straight and it seems to be hurting my back and I cannot go down as far.
Good, but I saw a video on how to do this and I think your arching your back to much, but everything else looks good. I'm no expert but thats just what I think :P
@13andincrediblycut LMFAOOOOOOOO fuckin goof your full of fucking shit. Just the face that you said not lying by the way LMFAO i'm sure posting that comment made you feel real big and strong, 13 y.o dl 585...I wanna thank you kid, for giving me a good laugh today.
@amarone1956 The Dimel Deadlift by the late Matt Dimel is performed from the top or finish position of the deadlift in the following manner: From a moderate stance, with the feet spaced somewhat close together, a little less than shoulder width, lower the barbell to knee level or just slightly below the knees. When the bar reaches this position, quickly pull it back up without pausing, by thrusting the hips forward and pulling with the back. Here I am going full range, how is that the same?
@bulldog9899 The Dimel Deadlift by the late Matt Dimel is performed from the top or finish position of the deadlift in the following manner: From a moderate stance, with the feet spaced somewhat close together, a little less than shoulder width, lower the barbell to knee level or just slightly below the knees. @TemplarX2 funny that you sould say that because out off all the medals in the 2008 Olympics, Asians took home the most. So what other great insight do you have about Asians, or other Ethnicities for the matter. It is obvious you have alot to say about peoples races and ethnicities
@R3ZA thank you for the support. bodybuilders do not have to be super stong for it is about how much bodyfat one can lose and the symmetry one has when stepping on stage. the stongest guy does not win in bodybuilding, its the guy who poses the best on stage. 80% of your results come from solid and consistant nutrition with it comes to bodybuilding. training is sec
You've got good strength, but I'm sure you know it's much harder if you don't hit the ground. It works the grip much better too when you have to slow near the end lowering it so it's just barely above ground.
You look heavy and strong here. At this video you have much more body fat than ussual. Must have been your powerlifting season my guess is around 210 lbs. Keep up with the good work and posting the videos you are an inspiration to me! Kind regards from Croatia
ricecakes your an idiot. At that weight that Tuan's representing... I'd like to see you set it down gently without expending all your energy. Sick lift bro.

yeah, I have been working on that. can never have big enough forearms or calves in my opinion. its tough though. I can rack pull up to 600 lbs, and do farm walks week in and week out. strenght is no problem, but to make them and my calves bigger, it is a pain. it will take time, but I will get them there with time, patients and lots of exercises
can u please tell me the difference in ur romanian dl and a regular dl, i can't tell the differnce, to me this looks like a regular dl but on a stand. thanx
I could use the tires but they would give me a slight bounce on each rep, making it easier to get through the set.
Also, in a power lifting meet, the only thing that matters is if you can get the weight off the flood to the top finished position. There is NO contest on how slow one sets the weight back down. MEANING, spending TOO MUCH time on the eccentric part of the range of motion will deplete your ATP-PC power system and your glycogen will also deplete and lactic acid will build up
no prob. once one has a better understanding of the goal of the movement, then one can maximize ones performance and move one step closer to their goal. glad this information was helpful
once you have gain more knowlegde about what I am doing here, from understanding the different energy systems (ATP-PC, Glycolysis, and Beta-Oxidation) to the bio mechnics of the moverment, in this case, to improve the dead lift, and how to set up the proper training program, as I did not using tires because I am not worried about the noise its going to make, but more worried about the effectiveness of my training program, then one day u to will know what to look for besides what noise Im making
Tuan, I didn't mean that the ear plugs and hat had anything to do with the sound. which I realize was the distance from the mic. Rather, it detracts from seeing you and your presentation.

I was a lot like you, when I was 10 I had a six pack and developed muscle extremely easy. Unfortunately I didn't really take much advantage of it. I started weight lifting at 16 and now, well I'm seventeen so, we'll see how it goes.
