  • great playing sir, kudos

  • I've already ordered a Japan so cal lol but I think I might try and find a USA San dimas when I got the cash. I find it really ignorant that people aren't even willing to give the Japan made a try

  • That's a good way of putting man, thanks for the input. I think the MIJs are a better deal though (cheaper and you get an skb case)

  • @Renots024Young They're on average about 100$ cheaper. That's nothing in the long run. I paid $700 for mine shipped to my door in an even nicer G&G case. The guitar was mint condition and had a coil splitter already installed. If you shop around you can get one for easily as cheap. Plus if you ever wanna resell it most people aren't even gonna wanna look at it because it doesn't say USA on it.

  • @nickguitarsw why would the u.s weigh more than the Japan made? They have the same specs. I've even heard that the MIJs have better fretwork...

  • @Renots024Young When I hold them side by side the USA model is much heavier. The USA's are made out of the same materials as the fender custom shop guitars. They're a better cut of wood than the japan guitars. The fret edges on the jap's are rounded and many people mistake this for better fretwork. I'd disagree and I think the craftmanship of the USA models are superior. Just because 2 people are twins doesn't mean they're the same person, each guitar is completely different.

  • That tone is great...I've been auditioning amp sims - guess I need to go check out Amplitube now

  • @EightmanVT watch my video on how to use VST's. This isnt entierly amplitube, only on the solo. The rhythm tracks are done with free poulin lepou vsts called the HyBrit.

  • Very Good! Excellent technique. I always thought Jake E. Lee was doing much more when I was trying to learn this one back in the late 80s LOL. Which amp, cab, and or pedals are you using? I have a Marshall DSL 100 with a Boogie Recto 4 x 12. I can get that tone, but with Les Pauls,&PRS guitars its hard to move like on this Charvel. I am seriously thinking of getting one like yours, but in a Pegan Gold? Maple neck Mandatory Right?? Do these specifically all have DiMarzios?, or Duncans? Thanks

  • @phallystorm I'm not using an amp and cab at all, its all digital simulators. Check out my other video on how to use impulses to get this tone for free. The So-Cal Model comes with Dimarzio's and the San Dimas comes with Duncans. I prefer the So-Cal over the San Dimas even though I have a San Dimas too. Get one made in USA they weigh a lot more and the tone shows.

  • @nickguitarsw Even Homer is having a good time back there !! great playing !!

  • Superb! keep the vids coming

  • cool tone!

  • Hey man you job is very good...I think that you have a great talent...good luck

  • YOU'RE AWESOME!

  • That is some VERY tight playing you got there, absolutely loving the technique, tone and guitar. Thanks a lot for this!

  • @tonyhawkpro4 Thank you sir. Save your pennies and buy one of these charvels. All my friends who play them envy it and get addicted to it. You gotta get one if you're serious about your playing! I've sold 6 of them for charvel, they should endorse me haha.

  • This is my favourite song, AWESOME.

  • great performance man..herei n italy i found so cal same as yours for 650 euro's used but not abused you think is it worth?

  • @alvin10388 Great deal DO IT! I love mine it will never be for sale.

  • That was awesome!

  • Big deal ... I'm sure if we pan the camera up we'll just see its Jake E. Lee playing his own guitar part for the song.

    All kidding aside, great job!

  • @roundaboutwrongway Ha ha ha, no thanks man hes a meth head now! Drugs are for fools! I'm not sure if hes got the chops to cut this song anymore.

  • Very Cool! Good Job!

  • awwwsome!!!!

  • Sweet playing my man. Keep rockin. And yeah - Charvel kicks ass! I own a SoCal and a San Dimas.. Cant put em down!

  • @weincke01 I need a san dimas now too! I wanna get the tele one because they're soooo cheap and shredding on a tele looks cool!

  • @cuttheslayer it feels thinner than a fender neck because it is flatter, but its much wider than a fender neck. Its not as thin as an ibanez but it feels far more comfortable. I'd go charvel all the way its a better product than the entry level usa or Japanese fenders. I own a usa strat my self which led me on to buying a charvel. It has all the benefits of an ibanez but the of the tone of a fender and none of the draw backs of either. if it was stolen or broken I'd buy another immediately.

  • @nickguitarsw Thanks for the explanation dude ;)

I'm only waiting to try one of this little monsters!

Here, in Italy, is easily find the japan made version, with the same specs of the usa and the SKB case, so really close to the american made.

I'm considering to change my Jackson DK2M (japan pro series with Seymour Duncan) with a Charvel So Cal, do you recommend?

Thanks again ;) Keep on Rockin'!

  • @CutTheSlayer I played a Japanese Socal and it was pretty good, but my American one feels way heavier and sounds better in my opinion. The american ones also have taller and sharper frets than the japanese ones. I used to own a Japanese jackson kelly pro and my charvel is 100x better. I would sell your jackson for a charvel in a heartbeat. The only downside to the charvel is that its not a super shred guitar up top like a jackson or an ibanez but its worth the sacrifice.

  • @nickguitarsw I believe in every single word! I'm only waiting the Charvel's arriving at the local market (here in Italy are so slow...).

I take fast your advice, is all I want! I don't like pretty much the shred stile...I feel play guitar not for show people what you can do with a piece of wood in your hand...Personally I prefer hear few notes in the right space than biliards of notes that say me nothing.

Thanks again, I'm searching for a Ferrari Red now! ;)

  • @nickguitarsw Is this guitar good for heavy metal? (Iron Maiden, Metallica etc..)

  • @sukkahiki666 If you look at adrian smith's signature jackson, it is literally the exact same guitar with different pick ups. I think the pick ups that come in this guitar are even better for metal. So yes this guitar does everything extremely well. get one.

  • @nickguitarsw Thanks!

  • Good Job man ;)

    Really nice tone!

How feels the neck of this So Cal? On the spec sheet is reported ad "medium C shape" like an America Standard Strat? or thinner?

I don't like slim taper necks like Ibanez, so I'm searching a strat shape that can do some hard things...Lookin' at this one or Dave Murray signature by Fender (unfortunately without floyd).

    Any opinion? Other ideas?

    Congrats again, Rock on! ;)

  • @magicthunder666

haaa thanks dude....but this solo is by the great jake E lee. a charvel player himself.

  • @nickguitarsw OMG you`re rigth... lol what a fail... thats why its necesary think things twise before saying anything...

  • @nickguitarsw jake E lee would be proud!

  • PUNISHED THAT GUITAR ! :)

  • @shaylarayneseymour

    thanks man, get yourself one!

  • Sick playing, I own this guitar as well but you OWN it!

  • @metalbloodshed

thanks man! its the best guitar ive ever played....like ever!!!! is yours green too?

  • @nickguitarsw

Candy green, yep. I originally wanted slime but this grew on me.

  • Sexy guitar man, good cover too

  • @GNRinfluenced

I just got the guitar in the mail yesterday.....best guitar EVER. If you don't have one, buy 3. I'm going to sell my Ibanez to get San Dimas also. Don't believe the bull that the Japanese ones are as good as the USA ones, America or GTFO

  • @nickguitarsw My thoughts exactly. I was gonna settle for the $900 Jap So-Cal But I'm coughing up an extra couple hundred for a USA made. I figured a couple hundred will be totally worth it in the long run. Should be ordering it today or tomorrow. Pagan Gold ftw ;)

  • @GNRinfluenced

Ahhh the gold is sick, I got mine for 750 shipped in a hard case with strap locks, the pick up splitter installed and some extra strings. It took me months to track one down though.

  • @nickguitarsw What website? Brand new?

  • @GNRinfluenced

I bought it from a guy who owns a guitar store in north carolina. I found it on craigslist using this website called all of craigs it puts all craigslist searches in to one page. I just emailed around offering people 700$ for their charvels, He said 750 and I agreed

  • @nickguitarsw That's a kickass deal man! I just bought the gold one I was talking about off of eBay last night. Should get here between Monday and Friday... So excited!!!

  • @GNRinfluenced

congrats! glad to hear you got one, you're gonna be HOOKED. everyone who plays my charvel absolutely loves it and is stunned you can get such an amazing guitar for less than 2,000$. I'm never gonna play anything besides charvel or fender ever again. this guitar delivers everything, I have a 1988 USA fender strat and I wanted a guitar that sounded as good as my strat but played as good as my prestige ibanez and this one does that and then some!

  • @nickguitarsw That's awesome, I can't wait! Should be here on Tuesday. I'm counting down the hours lol
