  • I would love to have a time machine a go to 1969. .. I could just imagine the feeling that the people on earth would have, everybody on earth was at peace for those moments of landing.

  • I hadn't seen or heard Walter for years, but like a Childhood friend you hear has passed on you will miss them forever.

Yes Mr. Cronkite was the voice that brought us through the Assassination of JFK and then MLK, Vietnam, Watergate and the Cold war.

The world was in turmoil, our heart had been broken so many times it sounded like a bag of broken glass.

Every night, We had a voice that let us know it was going to be all right.

Yes Walter Cronkite is that Man, now and Forever Gods Anchorman.

  • you played it perfectly, Walter. Perfectly.

  • MOON RISING

    YOUTUBE

  • I just remember hearing the Astronauts' heart rates were upwards of 140-160 as they prepared to walk on the moon. I was too young to understand it at the time..but I do now!

  • I remember that historic day. We were all glued to our tv set as Walter Cronkite was keeping us informed of the minute by minute landing and the setting foot on the moon.

  • If there was a title of Americas Grandfather

    its him Walter Cronkite

  • Uncle Walter R.I.P.

  • beauitful

  • Dude your puttting event's and Apollo together that are completely different once again we have here a prime example of another nation angry at the us westerner's for no reason, mind your own business what happens in our country shouldn't really bother you because it isn't your problems and events happening

  • That was in the sixties! the war i think you are talking about is in the early 2000's ! the two have NOTHING to do with onanother

  • Thank you.

  • 12 people landed and walked on the moon. America did go back after apollo 11. and currently they are developing project orion which is much more cost effective, and can put 4 people on the moon each trip. (apollo could only do two) And at the time of the programs cancellation there were 2 more flights to the moon already planned. America just didnt have the money to continuously dump billions of dollars into the apollo program. there is soo much more to it than you apparently think

  • also don't forget the future program that will take man and probably my self to the mars if I get accepted for that mission

  • are you in NASA? I myself am in the Air Force

  • No im not in NASA but first I'm going to Air Force ROTC in collage and when I graduate from it I'll be a officer automatically and yes I'm going to ROTC in high school then I'll train to be a fighter pilot in the Air Force and after 6 or more years as a fighter pilot if I'll apply for NASA and become a astronaut and hopefully they wouldn't have done that mission by then.

  • Verry smart. thats what I did. However, im not going to aply for NASA.

  • okay

  • I used to be a rocket scientist..but they fired me for eating during "Launch"..

  • Rip

  • ill never forget Walter Cronkite

  • Geez...if you have nothing nice to say...don't say anything at all. So many people in this world need to grow up.

  • woot!

  • Excellent, thanks!!!

  • 1st Robert Mcnamara now Walter.

    RIP

  • "It was that kind of a moment - a speechless moment for all mankind."

Isn't it amazing how Cronkite spoke volumes even when he didn't say a thing? There will never be another like him. RIP

  • Absolutely!

  • Excellent - thanks for posting.

  • RIP Walter

  • Godspeed, Walter Cronkite, godspeed

  • I'd heard Walter was sick a couple weeks ago, and had a bad feeling that he wouldn't be around much longer. America has lost a Legend, but he will never be forgotten, and always missed!! I just hope his family is doing the best they can, and hope people give them respect, and leave them alone.

  • Learn something new everyday. I didn't even know CBS was running an animation to simulate/depict the landing.

  • not to be cruel, but i thought walter died years ago.

  • 5:46 In two days, it will be 40 years since the first moon landing. Congratulations World!

  • And that's the way it is.

  • RIP Walter!

  • Goodnight Sweet Prince

  • goosebumps!

  • RIP Walter

  • i will remember him always

    R.I.P Cronkite
