how did you get the 'quick launch' on the task bar so small, are you on windows vista or XP with a 7 theme? or did you do something else?

Those are live things like Live photo gallery, the normal one was not deleted there is still a photo gallery, it is just the windows standard one, the one that by default opens your pictures. Same with Movie Maker

Apparently even though the sidebar has vanished, the gadgets will snap to the sides if you move them close to them. It works on both sides and you don't need to decide between sidebar right or sidebar left.

I'm a mac user and I gotta say Window 7 is really nice and smooth, If the final release is up to this, I just may use it as a secondary OP on the mac.

i wouldn't be sold on just the start button looking neat, or gadgets or sidebars... whatever, people need fast, effiecent lightweight operating systems, not gadgets and microsoft branded garbage... thats just my opinion. Clearly people weren't too happy with vista, and XP almost 7 years later offers a very flexible lightweight system for anyone.
