  • Just a guitar and a voice. Love it.

  • does anyone know how hes playing this? I found some tabs that said capo first fret standard tuning but it looks like hes capo 2nd and it sounds like it might be in drop D or some other kind of tuning.

  • @shrunkenfun

Yup I could Hear it too (Here ?) and the moron says what?

You probably tune as well as you spell.

Whether you are a genius or a moron has already been determined.

It surely is the latter . Haven't ever seen you on stage. And giving advice to someone as talented as Slim clearly puts you at the end of the line.

The moron train just pulled into the station you better run and jump on board before it pulls out. okay? post your best so we can be the judge of your Prodigious talent

  • @shrunkenfun Way to have an ear man. Way to have an ear.

  • 2:22, that's his soul coming out through his voice... damn that's beautiful

  • i have legitimately added 500 views to this video. Langhorne be safe and keep it coming you have the voice of an angel. It's like a cross between Fergie and Jesus.

  • @marleysac89 that's a step brothers reference, correct?

  • awe struck is the only way to describe it, teary eyes could only explain the two dislikes!!

  • Awesome...

  • This is my favorite because I was there. Love you! I hope you two will come over this summer. Chris

  • @crackerfarm Is that Scott Avett's Guitar? Or is that double tape thing an inside ritual?

  • You can tell for sure that Langhorne Slim is certainly influenced by Bob Dylan and obviously Cat Stevens. I like his strange style.

  • Goosebumps

  • one of those once in generation talents! Just WOW!

  • mr slim has it ,and i love it yea !

  • AH im seeing him this thursday!!!

  • Saw him for the first time just last Thursday, 1/20/11 and was blown away! Wow!

  • Check out Hunnicutt Slim on youtube

  • i just fell in damn love.

  • Most underrated artist. Went to a show in Indy a few weeks back, only a 100 or so people there. Because I am selfish do I like that. I remember going to see the Avett Brothers 5 or 6 years ago and thinking they were going to make it. . . I have the same feeling about this guy.

  • okiedokiee.

  • I think i'm in love. </3

  • How about this one :D :D

Than plays this song fabulous, just amazes me how people with certain talents can just start something and it is great........

  • Love that he is in a new position every time you blink your eyes. He's really into the music. Love it love it love it!

  • With the light.... You are Light

  • we grew up next door to each other... He is exaclt ylike you picture... docile and as sweet as apple pie... I cherish every minute we've been friends... Althought it's harder to see him nowadays.

  • So , right now , I'm going through an early case of depression .

This man has literally .. made my life easier .

I have wanted to cut my wrists and just cry .. Then I listen to him and think that everything is going to be fine .

I seriously have never seen such a genuine artist . He is truly gifted .

I wish there was a religion for this man .

  • loved this man, set him free !!!

  • love it....not the live sound tho? where are the criketts?

  • We saw him live at the Iron Horse, absolutely like no one I've ever seen and I am now converted forever ...

  • I ment forever

  • This is real music! Slims the shit!

  • Heard the Avett Brothers playing one of his songs, so I look him up,, Wow!!! This video just made me a fan!!!!

  • its kinda cool how his voice gets rough

  • Great video Crackerfarm!

  • Sittin in the dirt with studio quallity. That's some serious down and ready. The "wow" at the end is just right.

    -CHANGED

    M.

  • Amazing - This is what the music industry has been missing - keep up the great songwriting!

  • @BAFLINC This is what I hope the music industry never finds.

  • @RageAholic6377 Right on! Let them keep missing it, because they always find a way to screw up a band's creativity (or at least make them sound like everything else out there):)

  • when people ask me who my best friend is, i answer Langhorne Slim

  • EXACTLY!!!!

  • this is so raw. i absolutely love it.

  • my words exactly!

  • KSI is this Travis?

  • yeh yeh yeh yeeeeeha

  • i agree. what a soul. that's potential if i ever saw it.

  • hes great

  • A new legend right in our face's.

  • Great song indeed, I love the studio version too. The two differs a lot from eachother. But I love how he drags out "extraordinary" in the studio version. "I wanna be an extraooooooooooordinary man."

  • should be on everyone's iPod

  • I love his voice!

  • That sounds like Scott Avett asking if he had any new ones...

  • @justingarman might be, theyre touring together

  • Yeah, Langhorne is opening for them right now, I saw them last night at the fox theater in atlanta :D

  • what a soul ! love this song! thank you thank you!

  • Fripping love a bit o' Slimmage. Just phenomenal. Proper beach chilling out music!

  • This is one of my very favorite videos ever, Langhorne is phenomenal

  • cant wait for his new cd

  • 2:47 "Okey Dokey" lol

  • tonight in veronaaaaa yeeessss!!!

  • i live in langhorne, his hometown! no lie...

  • This is one of my favorite songs by him. Man, i wish I was there right now!

  • you would be alone

  • Although I can entertain myself, that wouldn't be much fun.

  • I was there. I saw him with the Avette Bros. a couple of weeks later at the El Ray

  • god he is so good

  • Is this song on an album yet?

  • Its on a live album but i think thats it...

  • Ok that's what I thought. Thanks

  • Love your soul!!

  • this is REALLY GREAT.

  • just quit MDMA Langhorne, can't you see you mouth?

  • So genuine, so kind... I love these lyrics. Blessings to Langhorne & also the War Eagles!

  • this really is amazing, he sings and plays with such passion, its an irresistible song. irresistible.

  • That is what sets people like langhorne and the avett brothers apart from other musicians is the passion they put into every performance. This is backstage in front of a couple people and he still puts all his heart into it. If everyone lived life with as much passion as slim and avett sing with, the world would be a better place.

  • So, so agreed. Beautiful comment

  • sexy sexy sexy

    sooo good.

  • I love the boots

  • i really enjoy his movements.

  • I met him last week. I really like him, his stunning voice voice, his smile.

  • spent a week with him last summer. great dude. the fucking man in fact. best song.

  • i do believe thats seth avetts guitar =) hes so talented i realy cant decide if i like him or the avetts better

  • i like him...he kind of sounds like ryan adams

  • i love his voice...it's so good.

  • pretty good

  • Hey can anyone help me out? I can't find this song on any album! I'm looking for this and " I love you but goodbye.." Any ideas?

  • they aren't on any album yet.

  • more like slim singing backyard.

  • Damn, this is the real thing ain't it? Playing like you're never gunna play again. Jeez, theres something about those low deep guitar notes.

By the way, anyone have any Slim tabs? His shits soo complex I can't figure it out by ear.

Again, Slim, you're the tits! Come to San Fran!

  • completely understand wat u mean, those low chords r crazy-a gd contrast to the voice, cnt find tabs or chords or anywhere for this, keep the folk alive slim

  • Slim's tabs are not that hard, this song is basically capo on 2nd fret, G, B7, E, C. Each change is just played off these chords.

  • Dude, awesome, thanks for your help.

  • great voice...great song

    nuff said

    =)

  • Saw him in Austin. Great live show! Love this song.

  • extraordinary sound quality for singing out in an open field with just an old wooden fence to hold the acoustics together

  • Is this going to be on his new album?

  • Saw him open up for the pogues great proformer looking forward to his up coming release

  • I'd like to be extraordinary, like this man, man.

  • I'm sure you are

  • The crazy thing is that that is Seth Avett's(The Avett Brothers) guitar. Look at the two pieces of electrical tape on the body, just above the neck. Must have been when Langhorne was opening for them. They both kickass!

  • It was at Pickathon in Portland last year and one of the best shows I've been to. This was right when he was opening for them, and the Avett's were there along with Ian Thomas and many other impressive performers. This was behind the stage in the barn, I believe after he played the last set of the evening there.

  • yeah i just noticed that was the avett brothers guitar too

  • I get somewhat of a Janis Joplin hit off of this

  • k i love this song this guy is so good....but haha look at the boots! is it just me or are they F'N HUGE...especially at certain angles! lol but i love the song its so dope!

  • God I love Langhorne so much. He is so talented. Thanks for the video! I haven't heard this song before!

  • OH MY GOSH! OK. THIS GUY IS MY FAVORITE NEW ARTIST! WELL, NEW TO ME!

    BILLY ANNE CREWS

    Southern Grunge Chick

  • his talent brings tears to my eyes.

  • this is beautiful

  • I would have to disagree. I think the moment starts at 1:00- 1:25. :) This man is jaw droppingly amazing. Chills every time.

  • I second this.

  • 1:12 - 1:25 is maybe the best moment in music ever.

  • You blow kid

  • thank u much!

  • april 29th!!!!!

  • this song is so good...i can't wait for his new album or the avetts new album...the anticipation is crazy

  • Anyone happen to know the progression on this??

  • Okay n/m! Its G, B7, E, C. Enjoi peoples!! = )

  • dont forget. capo first fret. (hes tuned down half step thats why his is on 2.)

  • Wow!!!!!!! Sooooo much soul behind his guitar. He's amazing!! I wanna see him and Seth Avett do a song...
