Imagins have a nasty habit of granting people's fondest wish (possessing them in the process) then go back in time to that person's fondest memory from the past to destroy everything when they finally grant it. A few (Den-O and Zeronos' Imagin friends) ally themselves with the good guys, aid them in stopping the bad guys from changing the future and possess the heroes for the show's comedic and dramatic moments of awesomeness.

Why do Imagin do these things? They are humans from the future who have lost their physical form due to changes in the timeline. They gain physical form using memories of stories from the minds of their contractors and go back in time to make their future come true (which involves destroying stuff).
