US Remake Of Asia movies see: Dark Water, Ring, The Grudge(Ju On) Departed (in China Infernal Affairs 1)
But JSA doesnt make sense if it takes place on the american/mexican border. there´s no war. A remake in the cold war on the geman border (BRD-DDR) would be better. You have the sowjets german and the ami german sounds better for a military drama

I really love the beauty of this movie.
Although I have promised to hate the U.S. remake that is being suggested. There is a true bond between Koreans on either side of the border. We are one people split by idelogies. Whereas Americans and Mexicans do not share that bond. And besides America and Mexico aren't even in any kind of war.
Truly an inspiring moving, dreading the Hollywood remake
