  • Are you guys SERIOUSLY FUCKING ARGUING ABOUT THAT? Tarjay and whatever the fuck ur name is just SHUT UP. We should all take a step back and look at humanity. Whether it be passive or not, no one's hands are clean. We are all dirty and evil in our own right. His actions resulted in millions of deaths. Each of us also retains that potential. After all, we are only human.

  • What a horrible burden to bear.

  • you should be ashamed if you first heard it off a song

  • You've just proved the point ! Lack of intelligence

  • Rogan.

  • @cottonzway In which podcast does he talk about this?

  • @cottonzway

Yes. Rogan. You want to suck him off.

  • I think what he is trying to say is that as humans we have stoped evolving and rely on the technology we create to move us on . Has anyone noticed how comon sense has been lost to tech. The tech. has far exceeded us as people . When the computers take over (A.I) a new race will start and evolution will start all over again.

  • @mazmich13

He's not "trying" to say anything, he IS saying something profound which you can't grasp you silly cunt, how sad....

  • to keep this on message, this man sacrificed his reputation to become the breaker of bad news. no one can say how his genius perceived the result of his discovery, but the truth is that we are free to try to show the world that our ideas of life are good. he was the power that led America to advance that ideal. try to imagine a different outcome?

  • @itsabig in what way do you feel you're defending your father or even honoring him by acting like a ranting, ingorant sociopath on the web. do you think all those civilians deserved to die, those people who did nothing wrong, but be in the wrong place at the wrong time, with a government that was at war? if this is your mindstate you're no different from the nazis, who killed jews, gypsies, gays, blacks, and others.

  • @tarjay35 do ya know who Alfred Nobel is, and his contribution to society?.....i'll wait for you to Google??? you're a classic example of "a little info is a very dangerous thing".......Nobel is credited with the invention of dynamite, and his conscience led to the creation of the Nobel prize for peace. the genie is out of the bottle......wanna attack the Chinese for inventing gunpowder?...let's go back to swords, or sticks, or boiling oil that humanity has used through the ages.

  • @itsabig i have now come to the conclusion that you are retarded and have difficulty understanding simple concepts and have no idea how to interpret conversation points. you have adressed nothing i said and you bring up the most random things. good day sir, and i hope you kill yourself.

i'm not even being funny. you're so stupid and ignorant, and i genuinely hope you fall off a cliff. goodbye.

  • @tarjay35 war only kills soldiers, we all know that. magic bullets and bombs avoid the innocent.....

  • @tarjay35 a cliff is coming up, and my Toyota's gas pedal is stuck to the floor, and my last thought is that Tarjay wins......FUCK!!!!

  • @tarjay35 it's IGNORANT....see the diff?

  • @itsabig you're no different than the Europeans who first set foot in the New World, and slaughtered, raped, and overall, committed mass genocide on the Native American Indians for a couple hundred years. And you're no different than those that constructed the Middle Passage and all that befell the blacks afterward. Instead of trying to justify these acts of horror, we should save a place somewhere in our hearts for them, to remind us. REthink how you want to honor YOUR dead and move on.

  • @tarjay35 Ironically, it would be the indigenous people of the world who'd survive a nuclear war. Perhaps all this 'civilisation' is a passing phase for humanity? Mankind certainly still has flaws that its creations in terms of technology have exceeded its natural evolution many times over. And there are powerful, mad fundamentalists who want to bring about the apocalypse on both sides of Islam and Christianity. The entire modern world needs an evolutionary shift before this danger passes.

  • @neil73 I agree. :)

  • @neil73

Care to clarify on the "technology have exceeded its natural evolution many times over"part? I don't see how technology has exceeded natural evolution,

  • @neil73 no one would survive an all-out nuclear war, not one living thing. which is why it will never happen. are you thinking cockroaches?...lol, go see Mythbusters.

  • @tarjay35 actually i am different in that i don't try to track your ignorant ass down and remove your net access. do something useful with your life? go bake something other than this man's reputation.

  • Just shows that great minds have emotions.

  • And when I close my eyes tonight to symphonies of blinding light, like memories in cold decay transmissions echoing away.

  • Oppenheimer looks evil

  • Linkin Park brought me here!!!

  • the part when he says "now i have become death, the destroyer of worlds" is the intro to antithesis by origin. a song about how we will be all wiped out by the bombs we make. not only a truly haunting intro, but the last half of the song is the most epic stuff ever....

  • One of the greatest men in the world. Oppenheimer created the tool that can end the human race in effect ending all future wars.

  • @OldmanChester That, is a fantastic way at looking at it. I often envisage what the world would look (and be) like only a few years after we're gone...

  • @OldmanChester Greatness? Oppenheimer is crying in the interview because he knows his hand in "greatness" may someday kill every everyone. Notice also he references Shiva (aka Apollyon?); Surely the "god of destruction" is great and may have used humankind to accomplish the goal therein. Not my idea of greatness but that's semantics.

  • @transporterIII But think about it. Would it really be all that bad if every single Homo Sapien on this planet were to disapear tommorow? Actually it wouldn't be bad at all, it would actually be quite good. Not one soul would be exposed to any measure of suffering, nor would any more blood shed occur. All man made chaos would cease to exist and everyone would sleep peacefully in the realm of nothingness for all eternity. Oppenhiemer's creation is the peacemaker.

  • Never forget.

  • Comment removed

  • OK been reading these comments, Quit saying that Oppenheimer is an evil man, he isnt. He is practically crying in this. He knew what could happen with a weapon like this, Its not his fault that such horridly dangerous and terrifyingly powerful weapons are in the hands of humanity. If it wasnt this peaceful man to begin with it would have been a ragin lunatic that discovered the method to release such energy. This was actually a wonderfully magnificient break through.

  • Go look at all the peaceful nuclear research and break through in atomic science we had made from when this was first started, unfortunately with all science there is potential to make horrid weapons like this, just letting you guys know. Nuclear weapons are bad, but they are not our most terrifying and deadly weapons. Biological weapons like the weaponized small pox among others. With just one out break that could kill MILLIONS AND MILLIONS, with a simple canister. gotta see the scale of things

  • exactly, and the true crime is that he was vilified for his genius. his mind accelerated the end of WW2!

there should be a J.Robert Oppenheimer monument on the mall in D.C.!!

  • A brilliant man with an incredible life story.

  • Truly haunting...

  • what none of you are getting is the "other guys" were hard at work trying to obtain the same weapon. had this guy not done it.......just give it some thought???? JEEEEEZ!!!

do a little research before you read BS like Tarjay spews and believe it. Oppenheimer saved hundreds of thousands of American lives. It was them or us wasn't it? That is the insanity of war.

  • The eyes of this man are truly terrifying.

  • Spooky as shit, him quoting a Hindu text makes it even spookier.

  • Extraordinary video clip.

  • It's a pity this self awareness wasn't apprent before creating the object of our destruction...possibly.

  • If the radiance of a thousands suns where to burst at ounce in to the sky, that would be like the splendor of ye mighty one. Now I am become death destroyer of worlds.

  • I heard that the word in Sanskrit is "Kala" which could mean Death or Time.

Maybe this could also be a similar version of "Time destroys all things."

  • its a lot eerier without the background noise

  • THE RADIANCE

  • Thumbs Up if you first heard this on A Thousand Suns Album.

  • Oppenheimer is called the "father of the atombomb", einstein would pretty much be the mother because he fucked him pretty hard.

  • @dynpan sorry for that

  • the radiance by linkin park brought me here

  • Poor guy. You can tell he's overwhelmed by the whole thing.

  • It must've been really terrible to have been Oppenheimer at that time, knowing that he was responsible for a weapon so powerful it could end humanity.

  • @Spudfish93 very true !!

  • @Spudfish93 the poor mam

  • We've become so far now, we were fighting beasts in the wild for food and clothes thousand of years ago and now, we have something that destroy cities, generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever

  • HAIL PLANKTON !!!

  • I wonder if Robert Oppenheimer regrets his contribution in the creation of the bomb

  • @CrimsonGuard1992

Well hes crying and afterward he was thrown in to political exile for lobbying against the spread of nuclear arms so yeah i think he regretted it.

  • @HazeGreyAndUnderway And with that, he's got you. You'll be putty in his hands. He had that effect on people. Oppie is no fool. I'm sure his feelings were genuine; they were just turned up to 11 in this interview.

  • joe rogan sent me here

  • it's all about our fascination of massive genocide

  • E² = p²*c² + (m_0)²*c^4

  • the radiance

  • Linkin Park brought me here!

  • This is my Ringtone

  • the world was at war, and as Oppenheimer quoted," he'd not forgotten the atrocities," of our enemy, and they were many. this man saved countless lives by developing a weapon any single enemy of our country would have used at will upon us, and then was slandered into obscurity by jealousy. my father might have died with the invasion of Japan. this man probably saved his life.

  • @itsabig I'm not sure how ending countless lives is justified by '*probably* saving countless lives. Not only did hundred of thousands of people--many who had nothing to do with what their government was doing, many of them civilains--during the bombing, but many more died due to radiation poisoning and disease years afterward. Trying to justify the deaths of all those people or to rationalize it, because it was such a huge atrocity, that many can barely comprehend, is repulsive.

  • @tarjay35 hey pinhead, do some research? a conservative estimate of the casualties from an invasion of the mainland of Japan was 1,000,000+........they were not going to surrender, and only did so after they were warned and watched Nagasaki get it up the wazoo. so who caused this devastation?....pssst, my dad took part in the incendiary bombings of Tokyo. he was the flight engineer of a B-29.

  • @itsabig Ok, so I reply to you in a cordial and professional tone and you reply with an insult worty of a twelve-year old. Nice. And....killing countless civilians is just okey doke right? Women, children, people who had no involvement. People who suffered years later from diseases. I'm not saying that the soldiers lives weren't important, but the primary concern should be honoring their deaths instead of trying to justify a mass act of murder. That dirties their sacrifices.

  • @tarjay35 It was war you lint licking rat turd. oh wait, we started it by being in Pearl Harbor to begin with. It wasn't murder on any level.......it was to warn what would come. Them slant-eyed yellow bastards would never have shown on the deck of the Missouri if they hadn't know the entire nation would have been a smoldering hulk. Drop to your knees ass-wipe, and suck my father's dick to completion. it's because of men like himself that you're allowed to perpetuate drivel.

  • @itsabig @itsabig Weren't the original inhabitants of Hawaii "yellow"? And you should consider the fact that American elites wanted a Japanese attack and sold Americans a line of BS that unfortunately most of us still believe.

  • @transporterIII you're trying to say FDR knew isolationism was bad mojo? do you still think that's a good idea? Hitler would have gone no further that Poland without shallow thought, and Japan entering would have stopped with a massive influx into a democratic China......are ya seeing the problem in history there?....no Korea, no Viet Nam, just hundreds of thousands, millions of lives, not wasted for absolutely nothing. those not aware of history are destined to repeat it.

  • @itsabig Oh, and you want a cookie or something for something that your dad did? Slow down there, Bill O'reilly.

  • @tarjay35 you're welcome.you stand upright, you don't ask if you can visit the toilet, you can log-on to a public pulpit and spew ignorance.yah, you owe my dad a big favor, and so do I.

  • @itsabig Wow. I see you're off your meds today.

  • @tarjay35 It'd be nice if all keyboards had a mandatory I.Q. test before allowing morons like yourself to spread bullshit. Japan started it, we ended it. NEXT!!!

  • @itsabig you're a fucking ignorant loser. and you're obviously a freak with a redneck mentality responding to something that i said months ago. stick to watching nascar or some other productive activity like tipping cows or something. no one's listening to you, so stop preaching. how old are you exactly? because i've had more intelligent conversations with twelve-year olds. take a seat, do something that doesn't involve so much cussing and try brushing up on your vocab. BYE.

  • @tarjay35 cussing? you mean cursing?...... LOL!!! pssst, have ya heard about the grassy knowl in Dallas, or the Zionist conspiracy that caused 911? spew your ignorant drivel elsewhere. it's dweebs like you that keep the GOP in business.

  • @itsabig and now you're making random and unfounded accusations. you aren't through embarassing yourself yet? i take it you've had too much sugar today. it's way past your nap time apparently.....

i'm laughing at you. seriously. but...*yawn* this convo is getting boring so i think i'll ignore you're inbred ass now. :)

  • @tarjay35 i do believe it's "your inbred ass"....see the dif? your is quite different than the possessive "you're"...............alas, me thinks Nascar is a word you search on Giggle, i mean Gooooogle, i mean Frugal, i mean,"mom, can i have my allowance now?" dunno, and i don't care what your agenda is, trying to slander a moment in history. J Rob was a flash of pure genius. try to imagine Stalin or Hirohito dropping them nuggets at will on the North American continent?

  • @itsabig still rambling, huh? you're like an annoying fly. go away now.

  • @tarjay35 hey, you're learning......your is different than you're isn't it?....and thus, you keep responding. either you have no life, or you're out of hand-lotion.

  • @itsabig if all you have to go on, and if the basis of all your arguments is not any attempt at anything intelligent but a typo, it shows me that you're even more pathetic than i thought. i assume you just learned about grammar or spelling, so you're really excited to share your knowledge. good for you, kiddo! oh, and was that last part your attempt at being clever? i'm a girl and i don't masturbate. i assume you also think women are inferior, since ignorance usually comes in package deals.

  • @tarjay35 i bow to thee....all of the misery of WW2 was an afterthought of FDR, he was just bored.....like you? see, the thing is this is an indefensible position, and it keeps showing up in my Email.....and it's personal. my father died running from the hell he had to endure over the Pacific in an aluminum tube he either strapped on, or went to Levinworth to escape. he did what he was commanded to do, and it forever changed his life for both our good. do a little research before posting?

  • @itsabig *yawns* i don't see why you can't see that even oppenheimer obviously regrets it. the original basis for this argument was how we shouldn't justify the deaths of any amount of people, and should instead respect the dead, and understand the horror of what was done. but since you're and idiotic inbred redneck spawn who, instead of trying to engage in an intelligent debate, instead chose to attack with petty insults, cuss out, make racist comments to the japanese and otherwise harass me.

  • @tarjay35 Oppenhiemer regrets it? what i see in this video is a man coming to grips with the horrible consequence of war, and you're living proof that he did a good thing.....i'll bet you drive a Prius, lol

  • @itsabig so quite frankly, you bringing up your father means nothing to me. we're talking about you, and if this conversation is anything to go on, you're nowhere near, nor will you ever be half the man he was. sp stop trying to be a youtube warrior and try to do something with your life. you sound pathetic and sad. and, just pointing this out--your father was doing as he was ordered. this excuse has consistently become weaker over time, because that's exactly what the nazis said.

  • @tarjay35 so my father would have been tried for war crimes in your opinion?...let's not hold the Japanese people accountable for not overthrowing their facist government when world dominance became their agenda.....have ya checked-out the Arab spring ideals?.....1776 in the good old USA?...you're a pinhead. btw, go rag on Einstien if ya wanna know who was responsible? E=MC squared was his genius, and J Rob beat the other guys to the solution....booooooo hissss Albert, you're a bad man!!..lol

  • @itsabig i believe i'vre lost braincells just reading your comments. i don't recall saying anything bad about oppenheimer or einstein except that he most certainly regrets it in this video. there's nothing wrong with knowledge. there is something when a alarge group of people uses knowledge for murder. but, you prolly won't grasp that concept so please, continue watching fox news and listening to rush limbaugh while sit on your ass sipping beer.oh and kill yourself.

  • @tarjay35 i'vre.......ROTFLMAO.......what he regrets is being vilified in the press who pander to morons like you. the man cracked the code before our enemies did.

  • ... Linkin Park

  • the most hated person humanity ever seen

  • @aligiggs why do you say that?

  • @aligiggs Why would you say that?

  • @aligiggs what? :D

  • This video sickens and saddens me. It was inevitable that mankind would create this atrocity one day, but this man disgusts me because he is the reason nuclear weapons exist today. I realize that during WW2, thousands or millions of people's lives were spared because of this. But now a dark shadow of the possibility of our complete annihilation will always be over the world. What have we done...

  • @patriot1521 I'm not sure you understand that the theory had been discussed years before the war. The Americans knew that scientists in Germany knew the theory - the theory of splitting an atom to create great energy that could be used to create a bomb. Americans thought they needed to build it before Nazis. By the time it was ready, Nazis lost. Military decided to use it without warning on Japan. It wasn't Oppie's decision. TL;DR: Don't hate the player. Hate the game.

  • This video scares the shit out of me

  • @AcornBurrka Me too! Just hearing the quote itself gives me shivers and makes me want to hide.

  • @kbs1212 Same here! He looks scary and hearing him say those words.... :,(

  • @AcornBurrka now that i understand its meaning, when he said it and what he said it scares the shit out of me too.

  • what dread in his face

  • it is not his fault. he must do this if he wanna save the world. he is a great man.

  • Man you can see the regret, remorse and guilt he feels in having participated in the project. But I guess he might have known that it was a necessary evil to end the war.

  • That is the apathy I'd exepct from someone who realises what he has assisted in creating.

  • @sjolunds "Apathy" refers to an unfeeling attitude. He doesn't seem unfeeling to me.

  • why was i born?

  • the NUKE created more psycological trouma then WWII ..as in what the fuck you want me 2 do? create a more powerfy'' bomb?

  • 2 us children of the past this seems UNREAL... or whatever vedio game old people put out ... their children - their childrens children .. WORLD SHOck .. sycological no dout .. frans generational for sure....

  • he knew he was 2 burn in hell ... in this speach...

  • To those of you knocking Oppenheimer, keep in mind that this was a complex time. We were involved in the most horrific war to date, trying to end it as quickly as possible, and racing against time to develop this weapon before the other side did. This was not an easy decision. And beyond that, if you look at his face and listen to his voice, this is not pride but sorrow. He bears the weight of his actions as does anyone who has ever had to have a hand in ending lives.

  • Say what you want...History needs quotes like this from men like him. As a reminder how wetched AND terrific mankind can be...

  • why is this the only oppenheimer vid up?

  • It's over. RIP Earth.

  • This is how the record company who released Rebecca Black's debut album reacted.

  • " Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and, to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."

    *shudder*

    ultimately pathetic

  • Oppenheimer lost a lot of weight working on the Manhattan Project (dropped to 115lbs)..and he was a chronic chain smoker...As a scientist, he was curious to see if the experiment would work, but after seeing its effects he was bewildered

  • this guy is the stupidest scientest ever came to life!! hope you rot in hell!

  • @fcxendan mfw I have no face

  • @CasperTheWhiteBoy that's your problem.. a scientist does not have the right to be stupid... he might have a high IQ.. but he is socially stupid. he has unconsciously tried to produce this horrific bomb. He just could reject like Bohr did that's what I feel... I hope every human like creature decided to drop, helped building or dropping that bomb rots in hell!!

  • @fcxendan You have fun with that, now.

  • @CasperTheWhiteBoy The idea of fun over the atomic bomb is something most disgusting... You bet I am serious man!! Damn serious...

  • @fcxendan fo'srs ma nigga

  • @CasperTheWhiteBoy yes.. that's what obama is all about.. yes we did change kido!

  • @CasperTheWhiteBoy kido.. want some ice cream?!

  • @fcxendan No, I want some cheese pizza.

  • @fcxendan

Someone would have developed the nuclear bomb anyway. The science behind it is not all that complicated. All it takes is the right resources and enough money/manhours.

An individual scientist is not to blame here. U have to blame those who thought that building thousands of the things and aiming them at other human beings is a good idea.

What brought humanity to the brink of destruction during the Cold War was not science. It was mistrust and stupidity.

  • @malditaanorexica so...you truly are an idiot. Well, good for you.

  • Are u here for linkin park?... will if not better listen to " The Radiance By: Linkin Park"

  • @MaDzTuBeE Wow. really nailed the reason why I was here. -________-

  • @MaDzTuBeE Live version is a lot more tributive (saw them 2010)

  • @piercechrist Though agree with what you say bear in mind that; "war does not determine who is right, only who is left." in those days we did what we had to do

  • Wise words of a great man and genius inventor.

  • And the we well never give up our atomic weapons neither will the Russians or the Chinese. What all the liberals with their head's in their ass don't realize is that the greatest use of these weapons are its scare tactics keeping the superpowers from all out war (NK and Iran is all with other radical leaders will big sticks is a different story however). Bottom line we need these weapons

  • War is war just with new weapons and its good we had the atomic bombs first and we were completely in the right to drop them on the Japanese for it saved countless of American soldiers lives. We had warn the Japanese to surrender they had not so we did what we had to and sadly Japan's people paid the price of its leaders pride. But war is war

  • @live4rock10

killing thousands to save millions. many people would've die if the US invaded japan. but you are right, war never changes just the opposition.

  • He wants to cry, but the tears wont pour out.

  • I'm sorry but this is bullshit. He knew exactly what he was doing, it's not like he was a fool. So all of his regrets and sorrows are bullshit.

  • You can see the regret in this man's eyes.

  • In his eyes you can see.. the respect, the fear, the realization of what he had done.

  • certainly possesed since the begining of his rerkless life.

  • he is modern world's Prince ARJUNA

  • who else is baffled by the fact that he himself looked into the ancient sankrit texts and took them for what they were: the truth! the ancient rulers of India (along with all other parts of the world) had the power to destroy entire cities with nuclear energy. there is proof all around us: the vitrified rock in sodom and gomorrah is just one example. the ancient gods had this power and we are just now rediscovering it to destroy ourselves with our irresponsible human ways.

  • This man had a good heart and a good will, yet ironically, he was the man who created possibly the most fearful and destructful weapon known to man

  • Sounds like he's saying "I supposed we all fucked up, one way or another."

  • @malditaanorexica are u an idiot?

  • Has anyone seen Linkin Park's inclusion of this quote in their live show? /watch?v=6m4X_DSdo5I It's quite moving.

  • It is not J.Robert Oppenheimer's fault that nuclear arms came about. It is ours and our fore fathers before us. This is a product of fear, collective fear against the inevitable being pushed further into men's faces by other groups of men. As men we will push back, however long we push we will not escape the inevitable. Death will always catch up the collective or individual. Oppenheimer in his understanding and tears seems beautiful to me.

  • I don't want anything to replace @exetiers comment.

  • did anyone else cry the 1st time they listened to that?

  • @zachemorgan no. But that's probably because I'm a guy, nut a girl

  • @malditaanorexica he's crying, man.

  • julius robert oppenheimer, the supreme badass of the world

  • Comment removed

  • i dont know why ? but i love this....
