nice lapping but for those who want to know if this helps. I have been in this overclocking, case modding and computer builds world too and have lapped several cpus. As a normal user who just plays games and surfs the web, you wont notice any differece. But for overclockers when u take it to 4.0+ ghz then it drops may be like max 5c and thats like a loooooootttt of difference.

So yeah it works and i have always loved doing it, even if it doesnt work, :D

@aloysius444 Because the nickel was covering the copper base. When you remove the Nickel from the top of the CPU, you do get a 5 to 8c drop in temps

what does "lapping" mean wand whats it for?

What lapping means it Sand down the CPU to make it 100% flat, wich means you will get more surface to surface contact and better heat transfer, wich then gives you better Tempatures on your CPU.

Doing so will void your warranty.

I'm not sure of the results of Tempature difference cause this CPU was not mine I was lapping it for someone.
