i beat this game with game genie once but shredder beat me with it a couple of times. I got to shredder once though without game genie. man i love this hard ass game. in fact i'm gonna go play it

This game is easily beatable if you know how to abuse it's system. The main thing is just to farm those "scroll" items, and then save them for the bosses / and that impossible hallway before Shredder. And also to farm the pizzas when you need them. If you know all the tricks, you can easily beat this game without continuing.

This is not the hardest game ever IMO. I'm 14 and at the age of maybe 10 or 12 almost got right into the final boss fight. Took a LOT of dedication, no fucking joe. And yes this was recent, so I would have had plenty of other choices but I decided to go hardcore. And I still try and finish it. I think I may be insane :D

@MrRetroGamer96 Sure, I can do a full playthrough, even though I've basically done one already. Can't say I'd be leet enough to do a Raph-only run without having to farm for pizza every chance I get. I can do it as soon as I get my new computer, mine died some weeks back and this laptop is way too weak to properly record. In any case I can see how the game can be hard, I had quite a bit of trouble after not playing it for many, many years.

If Shredder was a super hard boss, I dont think I ever would have beating the game once I gotting past the traps.

Until you get to the Technodrome, this game isn't too hard if you use decent strategy to stay filled up on pizza. As for the ending, it was a licensed game from the '80s. Even the original Zelda had a lame ending.

I remember the good ol'80's... losing all my turtles to Shredder hence losing interest into one of the best NES games because of an obnoxious final fight. Then putting my old NES out of retirement like ten years after in order to settle an old score - only to lose again against Shredder.

Now that I see the lame conclusion of the game, I'm glad I definitely pulled the plug. Thanks for putting my soul finally at ease!

He was a human known as Hamato Yoshi. He was exiled from the Foot Clan as he was framed by Oroku Saki (Shredder). Yoshi was exiled to New York where he lived in the sewers in shame. (rest is from Wikipedia) Years later, when Saki moved to New York, he dumped mutagen into the sewers to kill Yoshi. But instead, the mutagen caused Yoshi and his four pet turtles to mutate. Yoshi himself mutated into a humanoid rat, as the last animal he was in contact with were rats.

Yeah, a true disappointment, no matter how you hit him, he always flies back a long distance. Then again, if he ever got to hit you with the ray gun, he would've killed a turtle immediately, and a single hit from him would've taken about a half of your health away. Still, it doesn't take away the fact that he is a real pushover.

Oh right; I forgot about that... I'm a Game Genie user. :p But I just stand on the second ledge and hit him with the Bo (or scrolls) forcing him off the top ledge, then I try and get him when he jumps up. Any living Turtle will do for that.

I try my best not to use the Game Genie when trying to play a game through, though sometimes it can get very frustrating, but rewarding in the end. Thanks for watching and commenting.
