I personally think of my stutter as a blessing, I had a dark pask and went through the usual depression stutters do tend to go through, especially in high school but.

When I grew as a person, acccepted it , I used it to my advantage. I listen twice as much as a I talk. And because of that, WHEN I speak, people listen, and thats more important than being able to talk meaningless bull every second of the day :]

Nobody comments on me stuttering because it's quite mild, but I notice it and I hate it... I can tell that some people are annoyed when I can't get words out or stumble over them because of stuttering because they just think I don't have my thoughts on track. Really, it's just the stops and stutters preventing me from talking normally... :/

I feel that this video paints a great mural of what stuttering feels like in the inside, especially for people are not aware of the affects on social development and academic performance. I am pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in Texas A&M University-Kingsville in order to have a career as a speech-language pathologist. This is one of those videos that make you want have a positive impact in peoples' lives.

Im 19 years old, i have stutter its hard to deal with it everyday, your perception of yourself to others is a major thing. You feel different you wonder why you have the condition. when i was younger i thought that my stuttering would just go away and i would feel more confident with myself. But now i realize that you have to fight through it. and stay positive. Cause feeling down is'nt going to help you its just going to make it worse.

I also stutter since I was a kid... I lived in the Philippines and I have a girlfriend but she doesn't know that I have a stutter. I really love her, but I don't know how will she react if she found out that I have this stutter.

Stuttering IS a gift!

I have been seeing Doctor Philip Schneider (director of above film) for about 3 years now. He is the most compassionate, wonderful, insightful man you could ever have the pleasure to meet. I have also known personally a number of people shown in the film whom are also extremely remarkable individuals.

For a long time I felt the same way as you. I have stuttered my entire life, and am now 22 and still struggle. But I can honestly say, I am proud that it has been such a huge part of my life, because my proudest moments have been accepting my stuttering and being able to live normally with it. Just know that there are people who are in the same boat as you (including me), and would LOVE to talk about it anytime.

@xmychemloverx No it's not. I think that once you have a wider perception of ones problems you can actually see that stuttering is not something embarrassing. Its all about the way you want to see it ;)

Tell urself u are a stronger individual... and I guess we are! Though our family/friends may try to help us get out of this situation/sympathize, they never know what it all feels like!
