Where can you get an affordable jouhikko in America? I want to play it at some time but they are so unpopular that they don't even come up under Google shopping results :/

@Kizales You could try to make one. Check Simon's Chadwick jouhikko - two pine planks of pine (+ separate soundboard but you can skip it) you can buy in most of Home Depot-type stores. Michael J King makes them (jouhikkos, not pine planks) but he's from UK.

Couple of my relatives have made their own jouhikkos with little help of their grandparents, I don't know can one actually buy those.
