Ive got a 2000 v6 stang and I just had dual thrush welded series put on it Friday and I love it! I would have gotten flowmasters before I seen your video..... thank god I didn't or I would have ruined my car. But thanks to you my car looks and sounds great now.
It's cuz i am going to put a Roush stage 3 body kit on mine and the exhaust tip come out from the side just below the left and right rear tires....do you think if I divorce dual them the guy from the muffler shop will be able to bend them to where they belong? I have flowmasters but he said I needed glasspacks cuz the flows r too in the back and he can't bend the pipes to the front :/
this sounds amazing dude. is this just the mufflers? no heads or x pipe?? cuz i wanna get this now. but whats the model number on your mufflers? i wanna do a pypes 409 stainless steel xpipe with it and then do pacesetter long tube headers.
nice i like it...... that is a 3.8 rite?????? im trying to decide what to get on my mustang i want exactly the same sound i was thinking on flowmaster 40s or magnaflows but im think that im getting welded thrush mufflers...... sound great.... onme question how loud is inside the cabine???????
@chaks07 The Thrush welded series are identical to the Flow 40s, so get Thrush. It's not too loud in the cabin, the only time there is drone is when you're at exactly 2000 RPMs. I love it.
@Synyster06Gates nce thans.....one more thing what outlet do they have center outel or offset outlet and (3", 2.50" or 2.25" diammeter???) thanx this is really helping me out... i was looking at the prices and they are a lot cheaper than a regular flowmaster or magnaflows>>>> =)
Just got a stock 2002 V6 a month ago. Putting new tires on it (16 inch stock for the lose). I honestly have NO IDEA where to begin. I'm doing it as a hobby only so if anyone has any ideas, hook me up!
@Teuvil Best thing to do for someone who is just getting into the mod thing is to find a 8.8 rear end from a GT with either 3.73s or 4.10s in it and get a tuner. You'll definitely feel that more than anything else. It makes the car SO much more fun to drive
@drc1981 actually a motor deals with electricity and an engine is mechanical... im jus goin buy the book cause if you say i need headers then their gonna give u headers ..u say manifolds they'll give u manifolds. your not gonna be able to go to a parts store and say i need stock headers for a ___.... :)
I have a 2007 Buick Lacrosse with a 3800 V6, i wish it sounded half this good. It has the dual in dual out thrush welded series muffler on it. But good job.
I love the sound of the exhaust at idle and it actually has a nice rev to it (not ricey), do you have an in-car video while driving? I'm about to do this to my '03 V6 w/ welded H-pipe, thrush mufflers and 2 1/2" exhaust along w/a CAI
Get an H-pipe welded in, it'll sound deeper and just as loud, it merges the exhaust pulses making it scavenge better for more torque. For $30 what could be better than more power and sound?
An H-pipe really don't help the 3.8L V6 all that much. It is an even firing engine. Past 2500RPMs or so the H-pipe acts like just like divorced pipes since the gases can't make the 90 degree turn into the midpipe.
It'll help in the lower rpm for takeoff, if you don't rev your Mustang too high that often. A friend of mine has stock duals on his 99 Mustang V6, not sure the size it looks like 2"-2.25" and it has an H-pipe it in, takes off pretty well. For higher rpm power an x-pipe would help since the way it's designed the openings are large and it's easier for the exhaust to take the path of least resistance and merge.
Eh, even firing engines such as the 3.8 Ford motors don't need an H. They flow rather well on their own. And low end power is the least of my worries, I've got 4.10's in a 5 speed :D
It's your car, that's fine i'm just making a suggestion. Maybe i've never delt with an even firing engine, because every V-type engine i'd have responded well to a crossover pipe.
How do you know which engines are even firing or not?
Look at the firing order. As a cylinder on one bank fires, the same one on the opposite bank will fire creating even back pressure. That is, unless you have a problem within the engine such as weak spark or low compression.
is the cats on here

Hey dude if I put dual glasspacks on my v6 with divorced pipes as well, do you think it will sound the same?
solishs 11 months ago
@solishs No! Glasspacks/straight through mufflers on the Ford V6s sound terrible! Get chambered mufflers.

@papispitfuk This video was just dual mufflers and divorced pipes. Rather than having an H or X pipe, it was two separate pipes.
Go to Jegs and look at the Thrush mufflers 2.25 in/out offset in and out. I don't know the part number
Synyster06Gates 1 year ago
@Synyster06Gates that sounds really good man..

Nice v6, but why put music in the background when you are trying to show off your exhaust?
redneckalex08 1 year ago
@redneckalex08 He put music in it, because it is like porn, everything may sound amazing, but music sets the mood.

@redneckalex08 lol well I was just fucking around on Windows Movie Maker. I never really thought I was going to put this on youtube, but I did.

@Synyster06Gates ok so if the cylinders are like this:
1 5
2 6
3 7
4 8
then if 1 fires then 4 then 3 then 7, then 2 and 6 then 4 and 8, that means it's even firing?

you went with standard sized pipes right?
if you would've went with the 2.5" pipes you would've gotten rid of most of that popping sound went the rpms drop
its all that shitty back pressure
but sounds good!!
i plan on getting a similiar setup
2.5in pipes, divorced duals with no name straight through welded mufflers
=]
