i have noticed one thing in JPs solos, every solo requires the use of ones full arsenal of skills...every solo involves some inhuman sweep picking, alternate picking, string skipping, hammer ons and pull offs...

john petrucci is the greatest guitarist out there. this isn't a very good example of how good he is but no other guitarist has such a wide range of guitar styles as he does. i've never heard two solos of his that sound the same and that's hard to find in a guitarist now-a-days.
