They tried doing Corn based ethonal but then corn went up in cost. Now they are trying other forms (cellulos), but again its been shown as best a MAYBE. @justonefirefly1 Enough with the personal insults, my point is: weeks before the disaster Obama was alllllll for offshore oil drilling, he has done dickall to reverse all the deregulation over the past 8 years, he's had a year and a half, there's NO excuse, and he's also letting BP run the show. This happened on his watch, it's the WORST environmental disaster possibly EVER. I was no fan of Bush, nor am I a fan of Obama. Why doesn't he use exec orders? He needs a useless Congress? Bush didn't!

@maestrogringo #1 - It isn't like President Obama can erase 8 years of screwing the american taxpayers from the republicans. He walked into a mess where republicnas had spent the surplus and bankrupted the treasury. Bush had used more vacation then any president in US history. Republicans have filibustered everything that would benefit americans. They pander to foreign oil. Bush was the only president in US history to enter office with a criminal record.

@maestrogringo And might I point out that during his short time in this hell hole that the republicans have made of the US - that he and his children and wife have been called everything but a white man? Bush signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any president in US history - he fucked the constitution to make him self a dictator of the US. Bush cut healthcare benefits for war veterans.

(The "poorest" multimillionaire, Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her).WAS the first president in US history to order a US attack and military occupation of a sovereign nation, and did so against the will of the United Nations and the world community.

He failed to capture the anthrax killer who tried to murder the leaders of our country at the United States Capitol building. After 18 months, he had no leads and zero suspects. Bush entered office with the strongest economy in US history and in less than two years turned every single economic category heading straight down.

It is up to Americans to limit the amount of money that can be donated to elected official or those who are seeking political office. As demonstrated in this video politicians seems to be unwilling to the real issues of the American people, and are more interested in pushing corporations interests. Politicians should know that any oil drilled in America would be put into the world market and wouldn't be designated for American exclusive use.

@jdlaporte001 The relationship between "car accidents" and "oil drilling" presented by you is wrong. Changes have been made to cars since they where first introduced to make them safer. The most recent example is the introduction of air bags and suggestions for where certain passengers should sit. So, it seems that you have presented an example that demonstrates to need for more safety rules and methods for oil exploration.

Why are people rotting away in prison over marijuana, while the CRIMINALS at BP -who are destroying the lives of thousands of people and untold millions of animals- get, at most, a theatrical finger-wagging? The disparity is astounding!
I don't know about you, but I've dusted off my RATM albums. Take The Power Back! Why aren't thousands of people on the Gulf coast with their cameras documenting every second of this tragedy?! Why aren't people rioting? Where are the tar and feathers, People?!
