@Skillking22 Its good u noticed. Its called Mantis Boxing for a reason. what u dont realize is, how much more they are doing with this unique boxing style. This style is meant for extremely practical use. Master Qu = my shifu.
@Shanksor88 ... i have no problem with when someone forcing my arms .... the arms even doesn´t matter the only important thing about is to concentrate on your opponents centerline
all forces kick punch whatever are just different kind of energys nothing else
@oyamarovic These people are not professional, they are in the early training stages, but believe me, when done properly, its not just the arms that get controlled, you're arms are attached to ur body. if i pull ur arms towards me and force a palm to ur face at the same time, i'm pulling you into my palm.
centerline is a wing chun concept. it doesnt apply to this style. mantis focuses on pressure points and weak spots. centerline means nothing. solarplex, nose, chin, jaw, ribs ect
@oyamarovic and infact, one of my favorite applications to use againer people, is an elbow body slam into their rib after a block, or u can just use a bare knuckle. if i crack 2 of ur lower ribs, which isnt hard, ur out of the fight, no center line there.
@oyamarovic i understand the idea of centerline. i cannot speak for muy thai as i have no real knowledge of it, but mantis, it wouldnt stop at the elbow, but believe me, my full strength and a step forewrd to ur ribs after i have moved you're arm out of the way, is enuf to stop you. if u block, i grab the block move it, and strike again. simple, yet very effective. mantis is all about circular motions, half circles, whole circles, and continuous circles.
@Shanksor88 LOL..I would that and I would this....buddy, am I right that you never ever was in a real fight situation? that you never had a real competition fight? LOL, just theoreticl bitch slapping with a guru in front of you who told you how great your technique is and practicing hours the same block/grab etc to "train the muscle and reflex" is pure BULLSHIT. Go out in the sparring. THERE you ll find your thruth..LOL
it is boxing, similtaneous punching & moving.......on and on and on, and change and change etc.mixed with mantis grabbing pulling punching stepping, front kick is used alot in the forms
What tanglang? This is boxing. Bullshit.

@Shanksor88 no you got the idea of centerline wrong btw. i am from muay boran and wing chun so elbow strikes etc. are not strange to me
if u use elbow strike from the right angle it will be much more destructive
in some situations its useful to use swinging power just to turn again into the straight line strikes again
the technique you have described is a basic beginners application in muay boran and some other systems its a nice technique but don´t overrate it ;)
