too true. and they continue to throw money at the failing school system and expect nothing in return. financially it would be better for the schools in detroit to continue to do poorly so they keep getting government funding

I think it would be better for those schools to fail and allow charter schools to take over. Charter schools are cheaper because vouchers have dollar values attached to them. It makes it more difficult to steal the money when you're not protected by the government.

Katrina is the perfect example of the failure of government. Katrina exposed all of the government's broken promises. The government can't help, in fact it made the situation worse. The government told people to go to the stadium, and we all know how that turned out.
