  • Yeah right, bumper + dent = fuckin million dollar repair ? WTF ? If that's the case, then I feel lucky with my car - 1 bumper is about 70$.

  • fuck the pedistrian safety, i want my hard old type of bumpers,

  • just buy an second hand bumper, only 500$ instead of 2500$ - 3000

  • @marcvie9 Considering it got right to the trunk lid... You'd also need to buy the absorber and rebar, probably the brackets that hold the bumper sides against the body, straighten the bumper mounts, and repair the damage that's on the trunk lid.

But this is a pretty unrealistic situation, when was the last time you were backing up at 5MPH? Let alone without knowing what's behind you?

    "Oh look! A bollard! POWER!!!"

  • Hey guys, if you do this damage to your car I will fix it for you for half price :::) ... not like there is anything at all to fix. free 1500 bucks

  • @clborg88 really? i work on cars and im a mechanic and i own a 1991 mercedes... best is when you are a mechanic and own a mercedes.. that why the biggest money which is labor is basically free. And dont talk about changing lightbulbs.. HAHA speaking of which today i changed 2 license plate bulbs on a buick and i had to take apart the whole backend. Not to mention the airfilter

  • @clborg88 Modern Crown Victoria, what a great display of your social class lmao

But I'm not going to argue with you because you seem to be a knowledgeable man, just wanted to make a joke.

  • @clborg88 Everyone in America* and again, my point wasn't that Euro>Ford, Ford is a good car. I was just saying that labor for Mercedes charges much more because they have to be specially trained and shit, I'm just saying that I have worked on many Mercedes and they have rarely experienced a lot of damage in terms of parts costs ya know? It's mostly the labor that costs a lot.

  • @clborg88 Hahahahahahahaha oh god that's funny, you do realize that 2,944 is what the dealer probably charges, in other words 200$ for parts, and 2744$ for labor...there is barely any damage actually done to the vehicle, maybe a rear fender. Bet the bumper isn't even bent, that's a sign of quality. Real people work on their own cars, dealer shops are for women to waste money at.

  • 3 grand to repair that? There wasn't even any damage!!!

  • the reverse sensors oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!

  • i wouldnt spent a buck on that a little bit of duct tape and same as new

  • funny, that all the people think, that the car dont have to be repaired...

I think the damage cost like 2000 Euro... maybe more.

  • lloll my dad will love repairing :0

  • Russian 'classic' cars will NOT had any damage in the same test. I guarantee it!

  • @Dimastiy585 конечно!) у нас же бампера на них бл*дь как на танке!))

  • This is why Mercedes is word.

  • they should go back to making STEEL bumpers, at least place them under the plastic finish.

  • I love self repairing cars.

  • the 2002-2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class was assembled in Sindelfingen, Germany Bremen, Germany Zuffenhausen, Germany Santiago Tianguistenco, Mexico Graz, Austria Pune, India Beijing, China Cairo, Egypt Pekan, Malaysia Tehran, Iran Samut Prakan, Thailand Bogor, Indonesia
  • @MetaView7 don't even try it with a nissan almera tino.. you can ride your bicycle into it and it will have a total damage

  • @0zZChrysosZz0 its true.. today i saw some pice of shit nissan got rearended by an astro van.. the back of the nissan was almost all the way to the driver while the astrovan had a bent grill... fucking cheap shit.

  • 2499... jz go dollar store for duck tape

  • This car looks like a cat.

  • @LoveTheCity123

    i want your drugs

  • How the fuck could that cost 2499$?? Shit car

  • Yarkk

  • I fucking that did that with my E-Class. I was parking in front of Kelses and missed this huge light pole. Good thing it was make out of a wood so didnt get any apparent damage.

  • Lmao, 2000 Focus looked better :P

  • 3000$ ?!

  • Comment removed

  • they are too expensive

  • @y0utub35uck you cannot pay

  • ...and there goes 3k...

  • haha german dumb fucks cant make cars, American all the way, actually American muscle bitches.

American cars > Europe cars all day any day

  • @k3nst3 ROFL that's a good one sir!

  • @k3nst3 lol nice joke

  • @k3nst3 wtf are you retarded?

  • @k3nst3 fuck american cars, ford selled all their companys, jaguar , land rover, volvo, and is going to stop mercury, you think american cars are good? GERMAN QUALITY VS AMERICAN SHITE, YOU ARE JUST A JEALOUS FUCK WHO CANT AFFORD A MERC

  • @marcvie9 someoneseemsprettymadbro

  • The lesson here is look where you're going.

  • that car should have parking sensor :)

  • almost $3000 wow

  • this is an advert for paying attention when reversing lol

  • repairing after that small aciddent costs about 3 times as when i bought my car

  • this isn't a crash test - it's a bumber test.

  • It actually cost 3k to replace this bumper?

    (PLEASE RESPOND)

  • @geedunk13

Yes, in Germany you pay beween 1500 to 2500€ , when you use new a bumper... But if you use a second hand bumper you pay beween 400 or 500 €

  • im asian if it seems fine, we are not gonna let benz rape us in the bum... either they fix it for free or we wont bother =)

  • that'll buff right out

  • Out of all the place's that car could've reversed it reversed into the pole, tsk, tsk, tsk.

  • @10011010111001 its a test....?

  • YESS !! Hope my mom doesn't do this when she gets hers hahaaa

  • Quite an expensive piece of ass...

  • @joeboi85 LMAO no shit!

  • fucking $3000! No thank you.

  • woman parked.

  • Damage nearly 3000 dollars? Why?

  • @OFFICIALDAVIDGUEV i don't think so, if u send it to me i can fix it for about 200$ ;)

  • I think Mercedes is made of some sort of unknown alien materials.. I once hit a Mercedes in the back, my car was 1/4 destroyed, the Mercedes had only a few scratches ROFL

  • Im sorry but as a Mercedes Benz owner i have to disagree 3k is to little for that damage if you look closely you can see it damaged the bumper which will have to be replaced and painted replace the bumper damper now the trunk door was damage as well and you can just imagine how much is a trunk door to replace and paint and the hinges may need replacement as well when i crash my car into my garage pillar the insurance had to pay4.5 to fix the damages so 3k is bull shit

  • $3,000 to repair?!?! ... I didn't know touch-up was so pricy!

  • @joeboi85 Yess, That Ass is very expensive...

  • To be honest it wouldn't cost that much to repair as you can see that the bumper absorbs MOST of the shock

  • can you say first car? i wish but you can allways show the rents this vid to show them how safe they are

  • Damge 2000 $ ?? thing is wrong with it !

  • The 2010 e class are the best

  • wow, seeing that stoned is the shit!

  • I think here the most expensive part was the trunk, which I didn't hit in my case.

  • I have the same model as the one tested here and I hit a car's front bumber going reverse with the same speed in the video and I had no damage except that the rear bumber had to be reatached on the left side and it was something that I could do myself in the garage. Only cost me 15$

  • Alexferdean you´re booting reversing at 5 mph? LOL

not replacing for new original parts is not the safest option the car experimented changed everything needed damaged with official Mercedes Service and Parts.

Never heard a 15 bucks repair service from any world wide Mercedes place. Ever.

But I think you missed the facts, cause you hit a car into other bump, it´s so different, lot of contact areas, double absortion. a pole is a single hard and still obstacle

  • Well, I hit the other guy which was parked with my left side and the bumper jumped from it's place, but did not break neither the paint was destroyed. It was only a small area looking like it was hit. I forgot to mention that a friend of mine placed the bumper back, I did not went to Mercedes service

  • result? we need to remove these stupid poles !!

  • @szymaq hahahhaha! yeah, and put a soft grandma in there

  • @szymaq That comment has made me laugh.

  • @szymaq *lol*

  • park this car in ghetto area and see what happen...

if you dont lose the car....then then you lose the wheels, mirrors, lights, seats etc :-)

  • hit a bump and they fall off anyway. mercedes' are not what they used to be.

  • Try and break into a new Mercedes-Benz you will fail.

Lexus are easy to break into!

Not that you would want the cheap shit in a Re-Badged Toyota.

  • Wow:D!

  • Ya right.

  • nope m8, SAAB 99 could do it to, with self-repairing bumpers! And that is an old car, production 1968-1984.

    peace

  • then go and drive your SAAB.

  • @dutello every new car back bumpers are like that, cars are stronger on the back actually, some guy rear ended my dad 2004 impala with some dodge minivan at like 20 mph and the minivan was destroyed, my dad bumper only had a crack.

  • @dutello theyre the 1's who invented "SAFETY" in a car u fucking idiot this obv isnt mercedes testing the car, it's some1 else. go look at a real mercedes crash test video. u fucking bitch, wouldn't know quality if it looked u in the face.

  • this is a e-class assimilable with the BMW 5. the 3er isn´t assimilable with the e-class

  • nearly $3000 of damage? that same thing happened to me with my BMW 3 class (early 2000's model), and it cost me $850 to repair.

im not saying mercedes are bad cars or anything...hell nah, there awesome, but pricey to maintain

  • Yeah, lol. I own a Ford Fusion, which are probably horrible compared to German cars, but very cheap to mantain. I got into a collision with a van, having my whole front totalled and my winshield fucked up. It cost me $2600 to repair, plus free rental car coverage. I guess it's really up to your auto insurance...my brother owns a firm that is one of the main providers, so if I was not family, I would've had to pay like $5000 for that wreck to be fixed, plus another $400 for the rental.

  • the same thing happeend to you? so you ran into a pole backwards in the same angle? wow you are retarded or just plain lying.. You pick the answer.

  • That pole held out quite well, 5-star ncap rating on it imo

  • ya se de donde copio el gol

  • very nice!

  • Uh-h. You use, you pay.

If you want an E-class Merc, then take the expense of running and upkeeping it in stride, including the dings and dents. And if you happened to miss or ignore the parking sensor warning...

  • lol Very Nice

  • 3k??? wat r u nuts

  • LOL tristantao I would to i would keep on driving LOL

  • almost 3K just for that?...

i would just leave it and keep on driving it.

till my bumper falls off.... lol

  • ur bumper wouldnt even fall off.....after lookin at this nd seeing the price? fk that

got any tape nd a wire hanger?

  • haha. and some duct tape. duct tape fixes everything.

  • If you have enough money to have a new E-Class, and you're dumb enough to back into a pole at 5mph (since this car HAS parking sensors) then you should just pay to get it fixed.

  • AUDI FOR EVER !

  • YESS!! . :)

  • noooooooooooo

  • 5 Mph? Pftt Let's try 60!

  • Typical Mercedes 0 damage!! best car ever!!5*

  • 0 damage? dude....the over view showed the ends of the bumper popped out of placed.

    Mercedes has u FOOLED

  • hahah dude i have a friend he is like you, he dont like merc he is toyota fan, dude TOYOTA sucks! but not Land Cruise....XD

  • No Visible damage yeah, typical Mercedes. But the things that make the impact healthier for the passengers (dont know the word in english yet) are totally damaged.

The wings are also designed as the bumpers. You can knick them with your hands (or drive against a pole and they react the same way...

Easier for the owner of such a car.

  • That's not bad compared to some other cars. I got into a low-speed head-on collision with a Scion at about the same speed, whole bumper cracked open and fell off, grill cracked into two pieces and I swear the radiator was steaming. My '75 Volvo was entirely unharmed, but nobody wants a huge steel Volvo bumper on their Mercedes.

  • wtf? girls need cars like this XD

  • Haha! Bro, I couldn't agree more. <3!

  • There ain't nuffin that cant be buffed out! lol

  • hahaha

A friend of mine drove last week backwards into a parking garage pillar...

Total damage!!! it was a Ford Mondeo.

    lol

  • where is damage i got the same car and i hit the same shit today but wheere is the damage

  • chrisfball12 it's made to save your life at 5mph to do that much damage? Give me a break. They could have made it better but obv Benz is also in the business of making money, so when you hit something like that and it causes that much damage you have to take it to one of their dealers to get fixed.

  • true true

  • A guy who can afford that car doesnt have to worry to let it fix at that price

  • He surely cares about losing his time and nerves unlike Audi or Lexus owners.

  • just a question, but what is the estimated damage on that?

  • It says on the video before you even see the crash.. How could you miss that? lol it was $2,944..

  • I did that a couple of weeks ago with my E320.

Not a single scratch on the bumper.

The good thing was it was a wood power pole and my speed ofcourse want high since i was just reverse parking.

But it still made a bang but nothing to show.

  • A mercedes is made to save your life. Sure it might be alot to fix it just be glad you were in a mercedes when you do crash

  • holy shit 3 grand to fix a fucking paint scratch i would never buy an import just for that reason

  • lol

  • lol

  • U know... believe it or not,, any car can't beat 2007 Hyundai Sonata in rear in the pole test..... i was really shocked. Sonata is just fine as it is..

  • ke idiota eres... no hay punto de comparacion entre un hyundai y un mercedes... no sea bobo ridiculo... los hyundai son una peste ke invadio lamentablemente este mundo... mercedes es mercedes... toyota es toyota... el resto son intentos.

  • i don't understand a shit you are saying you dumb motherfucker.

don't think i'm a hyundai dealer or sth.

believe it or not,, i own 08 e550 4matic. Done 8000 miles. i previously owned 04 S4.. e550 is just magnificent. you do get a sense in the interior that it is bit old, but with AMG Styling packet, the exterior looks the sexiest among its competitors.

  • theres NO comparation of a MERCEDEZ and HYUNDAI!! lol!!

  • he did not rewind the tape, if you look carefully after it hits the pole, on the rebound you can see theres a lose bit of material hanging from under the car. you need glasses if you can't spot that shit.

  • that doesnt originally belong to the car

  • Lol you're right, I can see that now. woops

  • thats part of the crash test setup. look closely while its driving u can see it.

  • the sides poped out

  • that is bogus man

  • ur a loser, they didn't pop back to place....you just don't see it clearly...

  • No, at least the first shot wasn't played backwards. If you look there are parts dangling from under the car and left on the floor.

Plastic has some give, which reduces the cosmetic effects of minor collisions and makes pedestrian/car collisions a bit safer.

  • I Know u from benheck :P

    im paul4990

anyway, that was there as part of the cable used to crash the car into the barrier, look closer.

  • $2k? looked like everything bounced back into place though...

  • The bumper NEED to be soft to be safe for pedestrians.

  • Even the trunk lid went back into place like nothin happened LMAO wow what a car! Now even Asians can drive them!!!!LMAO

  • lol

  • my mum has a merc

1000 for the new new bumper 1000 for the new boot, maybe they chuck in paint for free

  • good choice :P

  • Normally your insurance covers ALL costs.

  • then, u pay more insurance premiums...

  • Someone may complain, but can you figure out the weight of that car and the traction power it has? The damage was minimal.

  • perfect

  • £1000 thank you

  • no wonder this motherfkrz are so expensive! it just rebound!

  • oh man, i hope everyone is alright!

  • lol

  • LMAO at bjn002 comment .......its true lol

  • 2000k damage wtffffffff whre is the damage i could fix that by my self for 100$ lol

  • wow its true the bumper just came loose, and prob like 5 mins and 50 cents

  • that's good made

    go..go mercedes

  • This is to scare careless soccer-moms backing out of a space at the local Sam's Club.

  • Oh come on, just go to the junkyard and get a bumper for 50 bucks

  • its still good ;)

  • how is that 3000 worth of damage it looked like it just bounced off

  • First off, it's a Mercedes so anything will cost a ton to fix. If you notice when they show the overhead shot, both ends of the bumper (near the back wheels) breaks away from the body. So the entire rear bumper cover would have to be replaced, along with the steel beam or styrofoam behind the cover. Yes, some cars have styrofoam behind the cover!

  • good answer

  • the one who will buy mercedes.. will never think about the cost idiots

  • he will def drive safely

  • the one who will buy mercedes.. will never think about the cost idiots

  • That's because there's stuff like tailpipes, even brakelight wiring that will need replaced.

  • ROFL i aint gonna pay 2944 to get my rear bumpers tightened back up

  • @krazieness: Refer to palebeachbaum.

  • So pointless! LOL! Now they gotta pay for all of that!

  • How else are they supposed to test if it's strong or not?

  • I think they need to do the same test but at about 45 MPH that would be cool to see
