You're right, this is probably the most effective 3D scene for the non blue ray 3D DVD. The setting really doesn't have to be changed as a darker color still works, depending on your TV, I guess. So far, in my humble opinion, Journey to the Center of the Earth(2008) has the best overall 3D for a DVD in this category, although Call of the Wild was pretty good too.
