@zzzhuh It was a celebration of the fall of the Soviet Union. The youth that helped topple the communist regime were thirsting for western popular culture. To them rock music represented the freedom that they had been waiting for.
I love this song! If only it had the sound quality that For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) has...... But I guess it could be just as bad as thunderstruck, so I can't complain too much! By the way, is there anyone watching this movie that was at the actual concert? If so, what was it like with so many people? I wish I was there!
Angus plays the Gibson SG, and Malcolm plays the double cut away Gretsch in a natural finish. Malcolm has th long straight hair, and angus has the curly hair and isn't wearing a shirt
True, it was a free concert to celebrate the failed attempt to overthrow the Government.
Young people were asked which bands they would like to see; AC/DC & Metallica were most popular, Black Crows & Pantera also played at the Moscow that day.
People hung around after the concert ended which did not please some of the authorities and so they sent in the army after 2am to get people to go home, the result was over 20 people lost their lives.
I prefer Phil on drums becuase he keeps it nice and simple, but I think that songs like this really need Chris because of the energy he puts out. Also, if you look, Chris really enjoys his job as he is always smiling wheras in recent years Phil has always looked a bit bored.
It was probably becasuse (seeing as angus doesn't play in the first verse) they turned Malcolm's guitar up for the first verse and probably forgot to turn it down.
ummm i think EveryMn is right i heard there was 500 000 from one source and just under 1 million from another, never heard any of this 1.2 million, but the point is, there was a shitload of people there
