  • how about banning unethical living conditions for big cats? what about those who go to great lengths to house theirs properly?

  • they have nowhere else to go.. in the east they'll just be used for so called medicine

  • There used to be a man who lived in one of the near villages, he owned a large amount of land and used it to breed Tigers, lions and wolves. He was so successful at breeding them he would work with zoos by giving them animals to boost the gene pool. He did allot for the conservation of tigers, some of his tigers were taken to Long Leat safari park. Many people who lived near him thought it was dangerous, his animals were taken away and he couldnt bare to live without them :(

  • @AwStitch626 This was in the UK?

  • @BigCatRescue yes it was

  • @AwStitch626 It's sad for that guy, but it is very dangerous and I'm glad the UK banned private ownership of these animals in 1976, we wish the USA would do the same and help us end the abuse of the big cats in captivity here....

  • @BigCatRescue yeah :( i think it was after that wild animal ban im sure? But i think he had a special licence cos when ive seen photos of him with cubs, he had a uniform, like the ones you see at zoos? but yeah i dont think big cats should be kept as pets :( im glad they enforced the ban ( but thats why we have a few big cats wild in our countryside) because people dumped them.

  • @BigCatRescue i hope not and you still can in the uk but you need a wild and dangerous animal license which is quite hard to get but america is good that they let you have big cats

  • @AwStitch626 who was this lord bathe?

  • @yusufsaber97 no, he wasnt a lord, just a local man who had allot of land.

  • Now THIS is education! :D

  • I have a Siberian Tiger as my pet.His enclosure is 1 hectare, that's more than 2 acre for you americans. It's well vegetated, with his own pool, trees, grasses, it has to be cool coz i live in the tropics. He's so huge at 545+ lbs. length of 9.5 meters and no less than 4 meters tall. He's become a dear friend of mine and Im planning to get another one, possibly a bengal. The problem is how would I introduce him to the new one,I had my sibe since his a cub. Area is not a prob, my place is 40hectares.

  • @Billabongs122988 Where do you live?

  • @BigCatRescue it doesn't matter 2 acres isn't big anof for 1 tiger let alone 2

  • I visited a "sanctuary" when I was younger and it wasn't what I expected. Wasn't really any vegetation and the ground was hard, cold, and super muddy. The enclosures were small, and a lot of the cats were dirty, ruffled, and hiding from all the chaos. Worst of all was the panther I saw, he wasn't just physically unhealthy, but had emotional problems too. His tail was like a rat's from him sucking on it during storms, he was afraid of every little thing. He looked like a scared little kitten.

  • @Sevie70 What was the name of the sanctuary??

  • @BigCatRescue Sorry for the late reply! It was Big Cats of Serenity Springs. Also, it wasn't a panther.. After watching one of your videos I realized that I too mistook panthers as black jaguars or leopards. So the cat with the boney rat's tail was either a black jaguar or black leopard.

  • An interesting act at 5:12. Makes me wonder what the male tiger was thinking. I know he's not hungry.

  • when im older as long as i can afford it i hope to give abused cats a wonderful enclosure, such as you give them, to live out the rest of their lives in peace.

  • currently working on a bill with the help of hundreds of others to ban the ownership of big and exotic cats and will contuie doing work on it until my dying day

  • everyone should own a tigers they are fun loving pets that only about half of what big cat rescue says is true and i have the facts to back that up

  • We leave them in the wild, they got poached in all these countries, esp. China, (uses tigers as medicine, they have for centuries) Russia especially at least India tries to protect their tigers. We bring them into captivity they get exploited or they don't adapt. It's a no win situation, I may sound skeptic but the bottom line is always MONEY, these circus, road side places, fairs bring in money. It's very sad. Keep up the good work on informing the public BCR.

  • @robynofrye. I have 2 cats (7 years old) that I got at a rescue facility. Sometimes I like to pretend one of them is a mini-tiger and the other one is a mini-panther :) Real big ones belong in the wild, not as pets or attractions...

  • 5:13

What the hell did they do to his Tail?!

  • @phoenixfirex Sometimes the cats do this due to boredom etc.. over grooming :(

  • According to the variable reports, there have been more than 1,000 wild tigers slaughtered in the past 10 years, which left around 3,000 tigers in the wild. This is not good guys. I really hate the Chinese government and wish bad fortune occurred to them. I guess I shouldn't surprised by this result. This is a country that doesn't give a damn about human's lives, leave alone wild animals like tigers. Shame on you China, and any people who involved with the trading of tiger parts. Go to Hell!

  • thanks for caring for them and for telling the people this numbers.... I hope it keeps a few people from saying "aaah so cute" and getting one without being able to care for them.

If YOU have the thought of having a house tiger: the next animal shelter near you provides a big variety of pretty house cats that seek a nice home. get a Mini-Tiger. He will be thankful.

  • @Bigcatrescue How is the status on the tigers in the wild at this moment? Is it as worse as the rhino? Serious i can kill the bastards that kill precious creatures for fun. I hope this endangered specie can recover from its wounds. Like Giant panda's are doing at this moment. Best wishes, Kranda123.

  • @Kranda123 The status of the wild tiger is not good, with only around 3000 left in the wild there are more privately owned tigers living in the USA :(

  • @BigCatRescue damn thats just sad. i knew it wasn't in great state but this is just disappointing.

  • why not put this on CBS or something like that

  • I was at your sanctuary a couple weeks ago and left a very positive review on google to help encourage people to come learn. Give my love to all your wonderful and very lucky big cats, and I will try to come donate again soon!

  • @LaurentheWeirdo Thanks for visiting and thanks for the review, hope you enjoyed the tour? :)

  • @BigCatRescue Loved it! I'm hoping to come back with my mom and a friend soon for another tour. Maybe if I'm lucky maybe Chloe will come out this time. :)

  • OMG, I just saw Yahoo news reporting that wild tigers will extinct in 12 years. My heart is so painful right now. How can we help the wild tigers? I know poaching is the biggest problem and the Asian governments don't seem to put enough efforts to prevent poaching, trading and killing tigers. US government or rich nations don't seem to voice such issue in any international meeting or conference as well. Can we change tigers' fate?

  • A very well-done video. Great information too. Thank you for all you do.

  • She's a good speaker and tigers next to her are fun to watch.

  • Carole I am in. I am going to write to my Prime Minister (although I have not seen a big cat in a circus for a long time) and your president and everywhere else that will listen. Have you got a petition that can be signed by international participants? I am in Australia.

  • I believe the issue is coming to the forefront that Chipping might cause medical issues. Hope that is not the case.

  • Haha the ending was perfect!

Carole: I know one thing for sure, big cats don't belong in cages.

    Tiger: Right!

  • Wonderful video, Carole. It's full of vital information and beautiful videos of the big cats at BCR. I'd still love to make it to one of your founder tours. Keep up the great work as I know you will. You and everyone at BCR are my heroes!

  • Animals should have a Canadian Charter of Rights :)

  • Amazing but not supprising how Greedy, insensitive, selfish some people can be!

I think its great the way you choose to fight back with educating people about these problems. This in my oppinion should be high on the worlds agenda to start getting their act together.

  • It would be nice to capture some wild Siberian tiger and introduce them into the wild in the far northern part of Alaska and Canada that are not populated by people so that they can regain their population.

  • @Pellegrino80 In a perfect world, all these third world countries such as India, China, Russia would agree to let rich nations to take care of their dying specie as the people in rich nations have a greater respect towards animal rights and have better technology and safer and cleaner environment. However, we are not in a perfect world, those nations only care about their national pride. So not a chance. But nice try. If that could happen, we shall transport more populations instead of some.

  • Shere Khan and China Doll are so cute together, they are just as sweet as a human couple in love.

  • What about Canada?

  • @lightningstar25 - Unfortunately, things are no better here for exotic animals. We need a Big Cat Rescue in Canada. We also need to change our laws so nobody can keep wild animals as "pets" or for profit, like poor Tony the truck stop tiger in Louisiana. Trying to improve life for animals, wild or domestic, is an uphill battle both federally and provincially.

  • In my town there is a man with 2 lions, he keeps good care of them though

  • @TrampOllen There were plenty of people who had a private possession of big cats did take good care of them, but they all ended up being killed by the big cats they raised. That shows how different wild animals from domestic animals as we are not suppose to keep them in cages as a pet. Even if they take care of them, love them and never had an accident, so what? These animals can never go outside and live their lives, they are just miserable creatures that fall into the hand of selfish people

  • you shouldn't be able to keep a big cat in a place you couldn't keep a horse. IMO that kinda thing should be in the laws - not banning them entirely - just making sure people are responsible about feed, care and exercie.

  • @SIDEWINDERELEON Big cats have loose skin on their bellies so that if they are in a fight, they are less likely to sustain a wound to an organ.

  • Good Job! It would be GREAT if this Year of the Tiger actually meant something FOR THEM. Thank you Carole, and all the others at BCR.

  • <3 I can't afford to donate nor am I close enough to volunteer. Is there anything I can do to help?

  • @TheJessiiDee Yes, tell all your friends about this YouTube site and send letters at CatLaws.com

  • @87ramasaurus True, but seeing people like you and others here who understand that we need laws to ban the private possession and trade in big cats gives me hope that we can end the abuse if enough people will speak up for the cats.

  • Why do you use non-breeding sanctuaries?

  • OMFG that horrrible!!!!!!!! im posting this on my fb so everyone can see it!!!

  • Carol, if there's anything Lenore and I can do, please let us know. Love you and what you're doing.

  • @TheCatmanDoodz Thanks! I love you guys!

  • Do you spay/neuter your big cats?

  • @jelly17000 Yes, anywhere that there are two or more cats together, all of the males have been neutered and females are often spayed as well. We do not breed. It would be stupid to breed big cats when there are so many with no where to go or just tiny concrete cells to live in their whole lives.

  • Those tigers love that lady.

  • I love this organization in my home town! One of the few things from Florida to be proud of.

  • @AngieAntiTheist What do you care? You are an atheist. You believe in survival of the fittest and evolution. Animals that compete with men should be wiped out because they are inferior to an superior species. Evolution is that only one species can inhabit a niche and the others die out.

  • @altarush You reveal a profound misunderstanding of both atheism and evolution. I'd be happy to discuss this with you on my channel, but let's not spam the tiger page with religious bigotry, okay?

  • wow those tigers are so beautiful

  • this lady is my hero for big cats!

  • i have always been a fan on youtube becaues i loved learning about big cats but when i was in Tampa FL about a week ago me and my mom went to big cat rescue and it was one of the best thing me and my mom did together ever!

  • You guys are the best... This is Gr8

  • Just how easy is it to own a wild animal in America? Don't people have to go get permits from the state? Have an inspector come round? Have annual checks on the condition of the animal and its enclosure? Have the 'owners' finances checked to make sure they can afford the animal(s)? From what this video shows, buying a wild animal in America is as easy as buying a goldfish.

  • @omgbabiesatemydingo The current permitting system is a joke. For USDA it is name, address, phone and $40. You might see an inspector for an hour or so, once a year, or once every several years. State permitting is even more lax in most cases. There is almost no money in state or federal budgets to be spent on making sure big cats are treated humanely when we can't even fund health care, decent schools or feed the hungry.

  • i think all big cats are just amazing - especially tigers, but I'll never PAY to have the chance just to play or pet one...as much as I would love to pet one.

  • @lildarkhorse Thank you! If everyone did just that - don't pay to see baby big cats - the problem would be solved.

  • Keep up the great work Carole. It was great working with you...let me know if you ever need any help at BCR; I'm a free agent!

  • @HeWhoWalksWithTigers Thanks! It was great working with you and Free is right in our price range.

  • very disturbing info from the gorgeous lady. Keep up the great work BCR, the time of real change is soon.

  • It's very upsetting to know these big cats are being mistreated.

  • I have heard from more than half a dozen other big cat rescues, that the owner of BCR is full of herself.

    I've heard

    1. BCR is trying to close all other big cat sanctuaries in order to be the only one.

    2. They inflate the cost of taking care of a single animal in order to make more money.

    3. Half of the animals that she has, she bred herself!

    4. The tigers she shows are sometimes the same tiger with a different name.

You never really know with these places.

  • @MismatchedMongrel You can pay a visit actually and see for yourself before making a comment like this...

  • @MismatchedMongrel The only people who say bad things about Big Cat Rescue are the places that are exploiting, abusing or hoarding big cats or other wild animals. For the truth about our humble beginnings and how we evolved in our thinking and approach is on our website under About Us / History & Evolution

  • Why can't you say "Tiger cubs"?

  • goodivd

  • khan is soo big and heavy :-) this tigers aro soo happy gj bcr like always

  • I am actually shocked that there is another park out there "GW Exotic Animal Park" that are making the bold statement's that they about your organization...and they aren't good ones either. :C

  • makes me sick that in the wild there is only 3200 tigers left and theirs more than that in captivity :(

and humans are 6 billion strong and were only one species its ridiculous

at what cost are we gonna keep draining the earth for and do goverments globally serious care so much about money this silyl idea for trade a primitive civilation made up over the lives of fellow animals :/

  • are Americans stupid, or am I senile ? you cant keep wild animals in backyards !!! :-(

there should be a law to forbid it.

  • @panthera50 We are working on that, but need your help. The cats need people like you to speak out against the private ownership of big cats. We make it easy on our website to contact your lawmakers and let them know we should be protecting them in the wild and not allowing them to be traded as pets, ego props and for their parts.

  • @BigCatRescue I wish I could, but I don't live in the USA. :-(

  • China Doll and Shere Kahn made the perfect backdrop for this vid!!! Totally amazed at the sheer size of Kahn, and chuckles were forthcoming at his "love nip" to China's leg!! LOL!!! Your message came thru loud and clear - may God bless you for the work you do, and for how happy and content your big cats are - as Kahn and China can attest! Love to you all!! xx

  • Im telling all my friends about BCR they seemed shocked how many ways big cats can be abused along with the other animals in the circuses and zoos.

They say its sad and its rediculous how many cats are left behind and abandoned.

I will keep spreading the word of BigCatRescue, to help save our big cats.

  • @LonelyWolfesss Thanks for your help!! :)

  • 5:12 Love bite :P

  • Shere Khan is HUGE!

  • This is intresting but very sad to hear also..

Really great job what you people do, Love You!! =)

  • you're doing such a great job

  • Fuck the exploiters. Freedom to the tigers!

Also, the tiggies were sorta distracting with their cuteness in the back. X3

  • Its sad fact that in US money talks and people having big cats as pets is ony question of money.

  • What a disgusting display of animal exploitation. This is also severely rampant in China and many parts of Asia

  • People shouldn't own wild animals period i dont really believe in zoos for the most part.. maybe just birds and fish blah .. but there shouldn't be tigers in peoples backyards etc. this is aful that u can't care for all of them turning away animals that has to suck .. pull at your heart strings. people use animals like its their right but really its animals rights to be in nature and not captive. I hope you can pass some laws so people can't just own a tiger anymore. Animals deserve better then

  • Big Cat Rescue needs Your help to make a difference!

Don't support roadside zoos, or "pay to play" schemes!

While many of the animals' conditions are very poor, (spending days in small transport cages, traveling day to day) I do not doubt that some of these breeders "care about" or "love" their big cats. The issue at hand is that it is NO life for an animal, being bred into captivity, having to work for a living, being passed from person to person all day long until they become too big to use.

  • Sometimes I think even if we ban the hunting, the fur would be more expensive and more people would want it...

  • More tigers in cages and backyards than in the wild?!?!?! That just made me cry (for real)!!!

  • @alaswoeisme Yeah, it's depressing. I actually discovered the numbers recently within the last month and was devastated. To know that there are more tigers in the US alone, then left naturally in the wild... It's kinda depressing and upsetting, to say the least.

  • @kionji Agreed.

  • Excellent video you all do great work.

  • love it

  • what you guys are doing is amazing

  • 3:50 I love how they're playing so happily in the background

  • the sad fact that even in 2010 there is no agency tracking the tiger in private hands is insane.

  • @briczar22 The World Wildlife Fund is about to launch a big effort that calls for better regulation. I made this video to help them promote it. Be watching our site for the launch of WWFs new campaign to save the tiger.

  • How can you own an animal and look it in the eyes and treat it with such cruelty. That is amazing. Then to sell and trade them almost as easily as hamsters. Holy smokes! This is not just sad it is flat out wierd.

  • Big cat rescue rocks! Those two tigers in the background remind me of Two brothers. Have you guys seen that movie?

  • @horse14t yap!it was a pretty gud movie

  • @horse14t More than 20 tigers were used to make the movie though and where are they now? No one can tell you because they just drop off the radar, but you can bet it didn't turn out good for the tigers used in that film because it almost never does. To stop the abuse, we have to stop paying to see such films.

  • Did I see the Baby Bob cats??

  • @FruittisMaris No that was footage of other bobcats at the sanctuary :)

  • @BigCatRescue Oh! So how are the baby bob cats doing???

  • When I was in Laughlin, Nevada a few years ago they had an exhibit with 2 baby mountain lions. I've always wondered what might have happened to them.

  • ehh you went to far by wishing for an org that tracks all the tigers and had microchips inserted into em to track the tigers everywere.

I would say it would be better and also more realistic if you continue to get influence to press the required mechanism to modify the law that has kinda generated the problem.

  • @Rozencraft The microchips cost $7 are the size of a grain of rice and are inserted like a vaccine. If they are not chipped then the bad guys just keep switching out tigers and no one will be able to tell when cats disappear off the records, if new ones have been bred to take their place.

  • @BigCatRescue

Even though the cost of the microchips is low the exact ammount of tigers there are and the places where they are at is unknown and you couldnt control the newborns tigers either even if you do know where are all the actual tigers in existence.

And even if you know it and could control all the owners who has tigers the amount of money required to do so would be outrageous and a non lucrative org who depends on donations wouldnt be able to afford it.

  • @Rozencraft BCR is trying to get more people to understand owning a big cat privately is a way of encouraging animal cruelty towards those species since they all gonna be locked up in cages and abandoned as they grow older. BCR does say that from time to time they need more donations to take care of these cats and get the laws changed. They never deny the hardship and large amount of money will be involved to make it succeed, but they have to keep trying as big cats are very imortant specie.

  • @AdvertChild98

I'm not talking about BCR I'm talking about what the founder of BCR said in the video.

  • Not to mention that the newborn tigers wont be registered or chipped and that the black market of them will continue.

  • @Rozencraft you are so god damn negative... these guys are taking action what the hell are you doing aye.. nothing just posting negative comments on a site who are actually helping save these animals.

  • @KiwiAng3l

I'm not talking about BCR I'm talking about what the founder of BCR said in the video.

I support BCR im subscribed to this channel but im just saying that at least for me is not realistic what she proposed int his video that being having a worldwide org that tracks all the tigers with microchips.

  • Is that all fur, or are your Tigers... ummm... chubby? I couldn't blame them really, what with not having to chase down and kill their prey and all.

  • @RockingTheFro I think sometimes their original owner overfeed them and they're chubby when they get there.

  • @RockingTheFro Shere Khan the larger tiger in this video and the largest tiger at BCR didn't receive the proper nutrition when he was a cub, there fore his legs are shorter than they should be which adds to his "chubby" appearance, but also all tigers have the excess skin on their stomachs which enables them to stretch when jumping etc :)

  • don't you guys like lions? you always talk about tigers

  • @thundag0d Of course Big Cat Rescue cares about lions, but the problem with privately owned tigers is significantly more severe than that of lions.

No one at Big Cat Rescue would be more happier than on the day it was illegal for people to privately own big cats of any kind (in roadside zoos, and backyards).

Unfortunately, because so many people own big cats and vote, or enjoy having their photos taken w/ big cats, that day may not come for a long time.

  • I Love them all......nice vid hon....... : )

  • I am literalyncrying right now.

  • i wanna find these rode side guys and have a muscule man hold there arms down while i smash their fingers one by one until he frees the cats

  • @kingman1245 why do people say stupid things like this

  • @kingman1245 Where would the freed cats go?

  • I'm disappointed to hear about the major states that are problematic in this area.

I plan on moving to Colorado and studying zoology, and to hear that this place that is so close to wildlife and seemingly upscale in their research programs is having a tiger pet issue is so sad.

  • thank you for spreading the word about the tigers' needs, your organization is great.

  • awww i saw the title and i thought it was a parody of party in the usa my bad

  • i wish i worked there.!

  • I want to work there!

  • There are more tigers in Texas than in India.

  • @Humberto4790 There are more tigers in texas than there are wild ones in India not the entire India ...

  • I love your organization, BCR, and I really want to help but am very tight on money. :(

  • @kimchidressagemama Thanks for the support, simply spreading the word helps more than you think :)

  • Ahhhhh......

  • Wow, this is very informative and actually pretty sad. =\
