    There is an asymmetry in the mass distribution with respect to the vertical plane which would divide the rattleback in two halfs (along the longer axis). This asymmetry comes from hidden weights embedded in the body.

    Die Hauptträgheitsachse des Keltes stimmt nicht mit der Symmetrieachse des Ellipsoides überein. Hervorgerufen wird dies durch versetzt versteckte Gewichte im Innern des Wackelholzes.
