Just Watched "Seconds From Disaster S3E8 - Aircraft Carrier Explosion - USS Forrestal fire " Pherhaps you helped Dave Dollarhide A-4 Pilot Who broke his hip and elbow getting out of his A-4.
I was on the Forrestal in the air dept. from Jan 71 till Sept 71. I never heard anything like that. I was a chock runner then a yellow shirt after I made AE-3... I'm thinkin that with some of the other guys that were in my coffee locker I would have heard something. At least a legend. I heard about the Liberty the 1st day I was on board. Any Forrestal vets remember Father Flanagan? Send me a PM. We shot his boon dockers of cat-1 when he retired.

You are a hero sir. It is a shame to see how the story of that day is being twisted in an effort to smear John McCain.
