Nothing better than real musicians playing, all impostors should be severely prosecuted for corrupting the highest art of all , I can sadly think of so many I know against my will that should stand trial ..
de mis canciones favoritas de jamiroquai. . . qué lastima que las ambiciones de un solo miembro acabaron con esta gran banda. En mi muy humilde opinion, creo que jamiroquai de hoy no es ni la mitad de lo que era a mediados de los 90's
@hieroglyph321 "Thanks Jay Kay" for the bass!!?? It's because of him if we don't have those basslines anymore on the last Jamiroquai albums... Thank Stu for that incredible bassline man!
I like the old-school stuff..Emergency on Planet Eart, Return of the SC and Travelling Without Moving....After that, the dude sold out, and took the easy road..
Big shame, as he has a knack for writing some really good stuff.
I agree, I like some of the songs from the newer stuff but it doesn't have that band feel, its more like Jay Kay with a session backing. More disco these days than funk. Feels just like it should was pretty funky though but they do lack the awesome groove of what they had back then, that being mainly Stu. The new Jamiroquai are a good band in their own right but they aren't in the same league as they were in my opinion. (im a bassist by the way)
I'm going to have to agree with you. They aren't a bad band now, so we aren't bashing them; however we hear and sense, the feeling of the jam band of the 90's simply faded as they progressed after Traveling Without Moving, and without Stuart. They still have songs i can play along with and dance to, but not the same as their hits in the 90s. Ha and I was born in 91 so I don't even have as much a grasp on how they really sounded live back in those days.
I'm going to assume that this wasn't performed in front of a big audience and was probably filmed for like a wedge between MTV shows or something. So maybe the clapping was poor because there was just the filming crew or whatever.
the bass player is sick, hes basically just playing alternate riffs to the melody and playing some of the melody, yet hes sticking to the roots mostly. great basssline creator
extremely creative bassist-stu zender...i just play this video over & over again bcz of his bass licks...damn, just listen to his groove and timing...like he's playin' a different song but keeping the root to flow with the song. Towards the end, I can hear some Jaco Pastorius flava' but not too much to overshadow jay...jaco was like that in the early days....keep slammin' it Stu' ZENDER
Kay, Zender and Smith - the classic Jamiroquai sound. The band wasn't the same after the latter two left although JK still occasionally hits the mark

I totally hear what you're saying. Watching this makes me realize why I've lost interest in new music.
Still would love to see them again in Toronto, with or without Zender.

SonicTheBastard 2 years ago 2
Well, if you don't think about this synthesize music mixed up with no songs for 5 years then no. but the funk from the 90's is better.

Still I,
Keep on finding that they're pushing those distorted visions.
And I keep on living but I'm dying 'cause of their decisions,
If I keep on looking I can find a higher space
I'm still groovin' and if I like it I'll do it
