  • boys will be boys xD

  • Next trebuchet you build should not throw things at the minivan... but throw the minivan itself.

  • dear santa...

  • Just imagine people from the middle ages coming in here and seeing what's happening there, and then getting back to the middle ages : " In the future, everybody will have his own personnal warmachine! I saw a group of peasants handling a trebuchet...Without any lord among them! "

  • thumbs up if you were humming the audio.

  • You guys should've been more creative using special ammo :D

Anyway, i kinda laughed at the little thing on wheels, you could've made it bigger no problemo.

  • that kid in the red on the roof is me!

  • i know that the right angel for the release pin should be 45 degrees, but in which direction should the pin pointed to? '\' or '/' ?

  • thats one way to be rednack and mideval

  • I made a good enough one for an on the side project while the weather is so great. The counterweight is 287 kilos of waste stone in an old trawler net(strong) I got plans with ratio table etc off a site but when I tested it,it was very off and the slings I use last 6-7 shots max (waiting reply from drtim on material so help not required there). What arm length-counterweight-projectile weight ratio is the best?Note it doesn't have to be dead on,I'm not gonna be overthrowing the local evil baron!)

  • @obrienj93 I don't think the position of the pivot point in your arm is crucial. The closer you get to the counter weight the better. What makes the difference in launch trajectory is the rope lengths and release mechanism for the sling. Play with the lengths to get the optimal distance.

  • what did ye use for a sling

  • @obrienj93 We used a feed bag which normally holds grain. It's light, is very strong and easy to make a pocket shape to hold the rocks.

  • @drtimstephens Is it the burlap type material or a similar material to coarse nylon ropes.ie old style fertiliser bags?

  • @obrienj93 It's like a nylon woven bag. I've seen large bags of rice at the grocery store come in the same type of bag. They did wear out after a while but on the farm we had tons and tons of them.

  • hehehehehehehehehehehehe

  • bye bye mini van R.I.P.

  • @SJEflames

    sweet

  • cool video, nice design and it had some great launches

  • Too many pictures of guys mugging at the camera, not enough of trebuchet launches.

  • such a rare van why ruin it dumb ass

  • why not?

  • @trevor1234ism

good thing its rare we dont want to many of those POS's on our streets

  • @trevor1234ism to piss people like you off

  • @ariadarabi Im 13

  • @trevor1234ism that has nothing to do with anything...

  • fuck off with this copyright shit WMG. go fuck yourself. if people buy music, it's theirs to do what they want with. you sell things to people but then don't want them to share it with others. fuck you.

by our stuff, but don't use it. get bent.

  • @CptSchmidt Absolutely agree!!

  • what was your counter weight and how much?

    thanks.

  • they are weight plates that attach to the front of a tractor. it was about 50 kgs. Of course... more weight the better :)

  • lol

  • sweeyt osng

  • me and a friend tried to make a smaller version of this, but we cant get the ball to leave the sling. its heavy enough, it just goes flying down and hits the ground. can anyone help?

  • change the shape of the sling. That is what helped me when I created a model version with knex. Also, try finding a trebuchet building forum; they must have help with issues with bigger ones. :)

  • this is difficult to explain without a diagram- but here go's:

you'll need to attach the sling in 2 places- one point (1) is right on the end of the arm, the other point (2) is closer to the pivot.

the distance between these points is about

1.5 times the diameter of your ball.

point 2 should always be attached, but point 1 should slide off during launch- releasing the ball.

  • cheers mate i been waiting bloody ages to get a proper answer to that

  • no prob

-could u sent me a vid of it in action pls?

  • also you can change the length of the rope that slides off during launch. making it longer or shorter will cause the ball to be launched at different trajectories. you can experiment till you get the height and distance you are looking for.

  • faggots u knowz them when u see em XD

  • well.. u know what they say.. takes one to know one. Bet u can smell em from over a mile away.. hahaha fuckin salad tosser

  • how big or heavy where the rocks you were firing? i think ill build one of these in my field, just to intimidate my neighbour, hehehe...

  • I want a minivan to try my trebuchet ^^

  • 44,444 views... ironic.

  • "A machine that could annihilate villages and devastate the populace, reduce city blocks to rubble and give them power to conquer the globe".

I'm convicted that they constructed a Communist State. Or a Communist-muslim alliance.

  • One of the improvements that the old school people found out back when they actually used trebuchets for war was putting wheels on them and letting them roll. I saw that you guys put bricks on your wheels to stop it from moving when firing. If you put wood down under the wheels so they could roll more freely and grease the wheels up allowing the trebuchet to move back and forth while firing, you would get a longer distance.

  • guys I want to know how much of counter weight did you guys used ... if you could tell me the weight in KILOS it would be better to me 'cause I'm from Brazil... and I want so much to do a trebuchet .. thanks.

  • it was about 50 kgs. Of course... more weight the better :)

  • It brake my hart to see a future classic minivan being destoryed. Could they have use a Honda or a Toyota minivan.

  • Wow, pretty good fking aim with that! xD

    Great video. 5/5

  • cool

  • niiice

  • great vid!!!!!! 5 stars!!!!!! ;)

  • nini, bombagyárlakó! :)

  • igazi amerikai parasztgyerekek

milyen egyszerű is ott az élet...

  • If they put more counter weight on it and fired larger ammunition they could get a much much larger distance. I can get that distance with a trebuchet that takes up less than two cubic feet.

  • what did you use as a counter weight

  • they are weight plates of the front of a tractor.

  • Just wait till the Palestinian kids get these, the Israeli Tavor has nothing on this!

  • this is a very small treb, they could make them so many stories high and hurl flamiing bulders the size of a man long didtances, i would think that if that landed in a village and was on FIRE, AND EXPLODED in my village, i would be very devistaded

  • er...the trebuchet isn'tvery...village devestating...sweet tho very nice

  • thats about an 84 dodge caravan... where in the hell did you get ford from?

  • and that is a small one! imagine a real big one! they were househigh

  • lol nice, seems like it didn't take much to build, but its still more efficient than the up to scale, uper 2 week time to build ones..

  • poor minivan

  • same here about the title.

  • whered you get a satellite dish?

  • nice work. thats one of the more efficient ones ive seen, but it will throw farther if you let the wheels roll.

  • this is powerful trebuchet ooOOoo

  • That looks like a lot of fun :)

  • Excellent.

  • C'mon man, use a ford next time! I could use parts off that thing! =O

Plenty of fords to go around.
