there is no simple G open major chord. play it the right way. 1 finger 5th string fret 2, 2 finger 6th string fret 3, 3 finger 2 string fret 3, 4 finger 1 string fret 3. play all six strings. this is the G major open chord.

i just got my guitar and it's an epiphone dr-100 i'm playing exactly what he's showin but it sounds an octave lower. i'm playing on the right fret and the guitar manual said it was already tuned.

Sweet. Only got my guitar yesterday and im almost up to this point. (kind of!)

My fingers are dying! OH recommendation! Using rubbing alcohol, or surgical spirit as it sometimes known. This hardens your skin quicker than just building up calluses. My sister uses it for her feet for ballet.

I tried the alchol to stop the pain but crashed the car. Still now ive got 7 mths with nothing to do but buggery and practice guitar. Thks Remo!
