  • Ralph,

I know this is a little late but how can you empeach Bush if YOU are elected PRESIDENT that is like saying now I'm President let's empeach the FORMER president

Skewed logic, Ads with the VP candidate running around naked with a Nader poster covering his #$%^ is that really what you want in the White House?

    I didn't think so...

  • as long as we only get 1 vote, a 3rd-party candidate could never win because not many people want to "waste" their vote. But if we had a priority-ranked vote, we could end the 2-party Duopoly. So you vote for Nader #1, Obama #2 and McCain #3. Then even if Nader comes in last with #1 votes, your #2 vote for Obama is then counted. No more "wasted" votes.

BTW, I voted for McCain. Too bad paranoia, pretty-boy image, and massive media support got Obama into the white house.

  • L.M.A.O.

  • Obama and McCain are both AFRAID of debating Nader. They have speach writters, well prepared answers to known in advance questions. They don't really deabate..it's more like sound bites and dog attacks.

Nader is way too articulate for Obama and McCain to stand a change of winning. So they just avoid debating Nader.

If we had a 3-way debate: Nader,Obama/McCain, Nader would make them both sound as silly as Palin.

  • I CALLED OBAMA's CAMPAIGN, ASKING THEM TO LET NADER DEBATE. THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE COMMISSION on PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES. I DID. THE ONLY NUMBER I COULD FIND WAS: (202) 872-1020.--Mary E. Davis

  • Ok, I've written the letters. As a Swedish/European citizen, who can't vote, and can't give money to any campaigns, it's nice to know that I can still make a difference in some way to stop this madness called democracy in America. This election affects everyone on the planet. Send them letters! No matter where you live!

  • In Canada, this month, the main parties tried to exclude the Green Party candidate from the debates. The people and media were outraged, so they pressured the organizers and the main parties, and got her in the debates. The Broadcast consortium has reversed their decision and allowed Elizabeth May to take part in the nationally televised leaders debates . The US people and media should follow this REAL DEMOCRATIC example. See greenparty(dot)ca/en/releases/09.08.2008b

  • haha i am writing too. Let the Revolution continue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha I'm writing the letters.

People from the main parties get so frustrated with me because I don't take the various "outrages" they suffer at each others hands seriously. I'm an independent. The level of corruption in both parties is so overwhelming. It tickles me that they think there's any meaningful difference between red and blue team.

  • Back when the CNN-YouTube presidential debates took place, most of the candidates there had under 10% polling, and some had barely 1%. They were still invited though, why does that have to change for the general election?

  • If you listen to NPR, ask them to provide more coverage for third party candidates because apparently they think they are providing enough coverage to them (yeah right): npr(dot)org/ombudsman/2008/07/covering_thirdparty_candidates.html

  • If you HAVE a MySpace Page and/or Facebook, SEND videos like this one to as many friends as you can!

    I send them as comments.

Do you have "Hi5"? The postings work there, too! I found out you must be sure to ad the person's name or something to each comment sent so it does not come off as spam.

Do ALL you can to get the word OUT!

    Ralph Nader & Matt Gonzalez - 2008!

    More Voices. More Choices.

  • Call the Obama Campaign (866-675-2008) right now and ask them to send a message to the higher-ups in the campaign about why Obama doesn't want to debate Nader. Tell them if he is really open to it he has to make it a public fight with the debate commission, not just say "I'm open to it."

And he has to agree to way more than the 3 debates sponsored by the debate commission, so we can break their monopoly.

  • clearly we don't actually practice democracy

  • Barack Obama and John McCain are no more different than McDonald's and Burger King. And even if one's better, neither is good for you. America needs to hear from independent/small party candidates such as Ralph Nader and Bob Barr. Open the presidential debates!

  • workersunite1916 (2 weeks ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply Marked as spam HELP ME MEET RALPH NADER ! The Nader campaign is running a contest for who can add the most people to their e-mail list. The winner gets to have dinner with Ralph and its my dream to meet my idol. Please help me reach my goal, it takes very little effort on your part, just email me at: workers_of_the_world@yahooDOTcom

  • Obama is a political coward and him and the democrats are against open debates and essentially are against democracy shame on you Obama!

  • what is the status of the New Orleans google debate, now that Obama is likely not participating?

  • I wrote an impassioned letter to the organizers on their website, asking them to hold a third-party debate between Nader, Barr, and McKinney.

This would be very important, as the "winner" could see a significant jump in the polls.

It would be a risky move on Nader's part, because he could risk losing to Barr, but you know what: I believe in Nader's ability to debate and believe he would come out on top.

Too bad Obama's people don't have the same confidence in their man.

  • Obama just backed out of the Google debate.

    Gee, I wonder why...

I find Obama's decision absolutely appalling, given the fact that New Orleans is still recovering from the devastation of Katrina.

Further proof that he is a white-corporate candidate.

write to both of them on paper and lets request Ralph Nader be on the presidential debates!Let Nader debate in 08!It's about democracy its about more choices and more voices.

  • Hurry up and mail the letter not later you lazy bum right now I said now Go mail it Now.

  • I just wrote the two letters and will be putting them in the mail Monday.

  • I sent both letters to Google. I hope others reading this HAVE or WILL do the same soon.

I REALLY want to see Ralph Nader at the Google Debates. Let's see Obama & McCain handle the grilling on questions they try avoiding, that Nader WONT avoid.

Nader knows Obama & McCain will not answer to the idea of "Single Payer Healthcare" (the same Tax Funded Healthcare the President and other VIP's get). Naders plan to 'create jobs' IS far better. Obama & McCain are NOT saying what they will do.

    RATM?

  • It's Nader vs the one party system of McCain/Obama....Obama and Mccain may as well be on the same ticket

Obama promises to change your dollar to 39 cents and McCain promises a 100 year war in iraq.......

  • Between the three, Nader is the only one not taking money from lobbyists and corporations. This matters to me because the failures and costly compromises made by the other candidates are due to their asserting the will of the lobbyists and corporations and not the will of the people. I want to hear the side of politics that will not be sold to the highest bidders. He may not win the election but his presence may help wake up the other two. Google please do the right thing, let Nader debate!

  • well said. It's about principles, we cannot let America go to hell without a fight!Even if Nader doesn't win he's putting a lot of pressure on the F****RS to at least try to appear more progressive (and it's working, I mean, we have a Black man, and a woman until some weeks ago running for the presidency...which is definately more "progressive" than just WASPs.

    Peace 2 u N don't give up the fight!

  • Please, anyone feel free to use the letter.

  • I am sending this letter:

    Mr. Schmidt,

I strongly urge Google to include Ralph Nader in their upcoming presidential debates. Mr. Nader is a champion of Americans' freedoms and he has been silenced for too long. He has been unfairly banned from previous presidential debates. Americans deserve the chance to compare all the candidates. Google has the chance to prove its mission to change the world, by making a first step to change our broken electoral system. Please don't pass up this chance.

  • That's a great letter. Thank you for taking action. Hopefully all fellow Nader supporters will join.

Also, make sure Nader is on your state ballot by petitioning for him, or you'll essentilaly be disenfranchised on elction day. 1 Go to Nader's website,2 go to TAKE ACTION tab,3 click on your state on the map, 4 contact volunteer coordinater to obtain petion, 5 collect valid signatures before deadline (some are in the next few days & weeks), 6 spread the word and have fun.

  • do u think I could use this letter too? I started writing one the other day but I'm not that good at writing (I go off on tangents, it was too long!) but this one is short and goes right to the point, I like it...A bunch of friends and I gather signatures on behalf of Nader so if you don't mind maybe we can use ur letter to get those same people to help put Nader on the debates! Please let me know, I don't want 2 use ur letter without your permission :)

  • please feel free to use the letter.

  • Brilliant Video! I'm In!

I'll Write to BOTH at Google!

  • Spread the word. Vote Ralph NADER. The ONLY candidate that will:

1 Impeach Bush to hold him acountable

2 Against telecom immunity & Patriot Act

3 Ending war in Iraq & ONLY candidate that WILL END OCCUPATION IN IRAQ

4 Cutting unnessecary military spending unlike the 2 parties causing further debt

5 No threat of war against Iran

6 No wasting US taxpayers money on military aid 2 foreign countries & factions that backfires on US national secuity

7 For single payer universal healthcare

  • Dude, Nader, Give it up man, seriously, some people are just not meant to win.

  • listen man, he's NOT trying to win.Ralph is a very intelligent person,he knows that the chances of him winning are slim (ELECTORAL COLLEGE)but he's not giving up bcause he understands that if he 'quits' there's no other American as well known as himself who can replace him, if he quits the movement will be 'over', so he keeps going.

Don't make the mistake of thinking it's about vanity, its about true commitment, Nader is truly committed to justice.

    GO RALPH, GIVE 'EM HELL!

  • he's a model american and not a panderer like the other corporate candidates that say what sounds good on any given day.

he's not trying to 'win'. he's standing up for the american people and is encouraging all of us to make use of our civic freedom and make this country work for the people and not for the corporate powers that fund the duopoly of this nation.

it's a tragedy that the majority of people view this race like a reality show (right down to corporate sponsoring).

  • "he's not trying to 'win'. he's standing up for the american people and is encouraging all of us to make use of our civic freedom..."

Thank you. These are the exact words that I've been trying to find to explain why I support Ralph Nader when questioned by others.

  • I wish he would try to "win." If he could be taken seriously by the masses as a viable alternative we would have a much better country.

  • @duskwalker2 Hes like the Ron Paul of the left, he would be my ideal man for the white house.

  • We deserve more choice

  • What is up with all the crazy people on YouTube?

  • Some people think change is just electing someone with a different skin color and hoping for the best.

news flash, obama isn't that much different from any politician LOL.

  • Excellent. Thank you google. Please arrange serveral Presidential debates.

Nader 2008. This time they're not going to silence him.

  • Invite Nader AND Barr to the debates. Nader put it really well when he said "more voices, more choices."

  • We have more choice - Google PLEASE-listen not only nader supporters but many of us who don't want to vote either O or M. This is democracy!

  • I hope you don't seriously think they read the comments on here... SEND THOSE SNAIL MAIL LETTERS like the video asks.

It'll cost you less than $1 and 10 mn of your time...

  • Vote INDEPENDENT.Vote Ralph NADER. The ONLY candidate that will:

1 Impeach Bush to hold him acountable

2 Against telecom immunity & Patriot Act

3 Ending war in Iraq & ONLY candidate that WILL END OCCUPATION IN IRAQ

4 Cutting unnessecary military spending unlike the 2 parties causing further debt

5 No threat of war against Iran

6 No wasting US taxpayers money on military aid 2 foreign countries & factions that backfires on US national secuity

7 For single payer universal healthcare

  • The democrats have proven that they are no different then the republicans by voting to continue to fund the illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through congressional budget approvals for the last five years, and by continuing to support the war on terror scam that systematically removes our freedom under the false pretense of providing security, and the democrats also refuse to impeach Bush, Cheney and the rest of those war criminals

  • Obama is not at all like McCain, he has more corporate sponsorship, he is sounding off a great deal more to attract fringe right-wingers like as well as "unified" Israel groups. He won't clamp down on oil speculators, which everyone agrees is a big part of why its 4 bucks a gallon plus as a national average. health insurance companies, oil, banks, etc consider their contributions to be a investment for their stock futures. We all know McCain is Bush, but what does that make Obama?

  • simple:

    obama is antinader

    obama=huge corporate donations and support

nader= no corporate donations or support

  • The only way to make it a real debate is to allow all candidates an opportunity to be involved and ask the questions consumers want to know the answers to.

Let Nader debate so we can hear real answers to real questions not drafted questions and statements by corporations!

  • i love that voters get referred to as 'consumers'. we most certainly are all consumers in some way or another, but it is not our intellectual base state.

  • everyone write letters to google asap

  • Hehe, I love the 'Adventures of Robin Hood' music. It's fitting ;)!

  • Corporate media and the Nevada Supreme Court kept Dennis Kucinich out of the presidential debates and they will keep Nader out too.

    Is it democracy or dictatorship?

  • You know, as terrible a president as I think Nader would be, I actually agree with this. He presents a viewpoint that varies from those of the Democrats and Republicans and is supported by a significant amount of the electorate; thus, he should be included in the debates.

That said, I am incredibly fucking tired of Nader's attempts to paint Obama and McCain as the same person. Maybe if you got off the soapbox for a minute, you could do some research and find the differences in their policies.

  • They are both corporate interest groups who won't challenge most of the status quo in the internal system. It has nothing to do with the false left/right dichotomy the major parties use to divide people into making a false choice.

Nader said while Ron Paul was running he might vote for him if he were the nominee in the fall even though they were diametrically opposed in political views, but he is not owned by a corporation nor does he pander to lobbyists. Thats how McCain = Obama = same.

  • I want Ralph Nader in the debates.

  • Letters on the way...!

  • I would love to see nader debate the establishment candidates. They probably wouldn't even show up.

  • Let Nader debate!

Let the American people hear what Nader has to say. He is the only one speaking on several major issues. He is in the majority on most issues.

Let Nader be heard in the name of democracy!

  • We want Ron Paul there too

  • I think everyone running should have a chance (but if they did Obama and McCain would be exposed for the frauds that they are). Gravel was shut out from the Dems side and Paul from the GOP. Paul technically is still in it so if he remains GOP, then the only candidates out there who are at least sane are McKinney and Nader (I will not mention Barr because he's a snake like the rest. Of McKinney and Nader depends on your beliefs).

Whoever remains in the running should have the right to debate.

  • good call

  • The Real change comes with the widespread endordement & promotions by all of us for

    the national Initiative -> NI4D.

    VOTEdotORG

  • ralph nader, and cynthia mckinney as well, should be participating in every presidential debate. that would be a step toward democracy.

  • Dear Google,

We love the idea of a debate between mccain obama and nader as well as Cynthia mckinney

  • NI4D . us

    VOTE . org

  • promoting nader is great and all but we all need to lobby his ass hard to get him talking about NI4D though... seriously. put up your dukes

  • google went to the bilderberg meeting. they won't consent to this unfortunately.

  • I did just that today, but I didn't know who to attention it to. I'll seriously send two more letters with Schmidt and Hunt's names attention noted.

I also go to school in New Orleans! This would be AMAZING if Ralph debated with Obama and McCain.

  • Two stand up names Google & Nader.
