  • It is permitted for people to produce coal by the use of wood, not through mountaintop removal.

It is also permitted to use old coal mines and produce new coal mines, but the top of a mountain must not be sacrificed for those purposes.

  • Why is Obama so anti-coal? His mother was an enthusiastic coalburner.

  • You forgot to include the beginning of this commentary where O states "If anyone wants to build a coal powerplant, it will bankrupt them..."

The rolling blackouts now being implemented in Texas and across the country as record cold weather grips the United States are a direct consequence of the Obama administration’s agenda to lay siege to the coal industry, launch a takeover of infrastructure under the contrived global warming scam, and help usher in the post-industrial collapse of America.

  • Obama says: coal is black like me

Nobel Peace Prize says: you are absolutely right!!! WINNER!

  • he shouldnt get anything but impeachment hes a liar plain and semple ok ok ok the green thing electric cars coal sneakers made out of recycled carboard fine and that all good but my question ? what the hells he going to do for the american people about higher taxes ?? they go up and up and up ? and then they say ? we have to raise taxes to make the earth greener ? yea ? yea ? yea ? bullshit make my earth greener and lower my dam taxes obama ?? you sweet talking political liar tired of the bs

  • A true politician, master of the double-speak, he speaks with forked tongue.

  • That's a forked tongue out of both sides of his neck!

  • obama wants to be the new dictator - we don't need this "long-legged Mack Daddy" to RULE OVER HIS IMAGINARY serfs.......

Hey, obummer, Americans ARE NOT YOUR SLAVES........

  • he is just acknowledging his understanding of reality to the questioner, who is also savvy to the facts.

this was during the coal industry's deceptive advertising campaign implying that "clean coal" was a reality, or an almost attainable technology, or even that research on this subject was promising.

he can't just be truthful with her on camera and say "we both know the concept of 'clean coal' is just a propaganda tool" because he would risk alienating the ignorant fools who believed the ads.

  • you should care because, if the world hypothetically lives that long, the generations of people after you containing your dna aka family will have t suffer what we could've prevented. or couldn't have prevented. The end of man kind is inevitable.

  • If you are going to analyse what he says analyse the entire statement. Dont just choose your favorite part. You fool

  • America, you bought this fool, now you OWN him. When will this communist be stopped?

  • I live in America and you are right. All right.

States are talking about seceding from the US just like the Civil War because of this man.

    And I agree.

This man is a Muslim, communist, fool.

  • Next he'll be taxing Hawaii for allowing a volcano to coninuously spill millions of tons of carbon into the air daily....

  • Don't give him any ideas!!! If he does that, he would talk it up real good and then everyone would just bend over and take it--and before anyone knew what happenned, we would all be homeless!!!! That is how he works and I did everything I could to keep people from voting for him and they all looked at me like I was stupid!!! He has been lying ever since he showed up on the scene and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

  • No, it doesn't make any since at all.

  • Obama is so smart that he is STUPID!!!- I hope that makes since.

  • Puppet is as puppet does.

  • I want to say, Obama is not twisting his words. What he's says, is, setting high standards to use coal is important. Why? Because- 1) It gives Incentives to construct, real, improvements, to less pollutant emissions. 2) Billions of $'s would be collected to invest in cleaner productivity. 3) Lastly, the use of coal, still, having it be the means to create energy. However, people are, instead, pushed to build real solutions, for these solutions to actually, be cleaner for Earth.

  • Yeah he's a pretty slick and smooth talker

  • Obama Man speak out of both sides of mouth, tongue must be shape like snake tongue

  • Live with it Obama will be president. I for one am so relieved that he was elected. We finally have some hope in this country.

  • wow ur fucking dumb

  • Ummm...no actually, if you think Obama is bad for this country then why not just keep Bush? Making McCain president would be one way of doing it. Yeah that's what I thought.

  • woow why do people think that mccain is like bush

  • Because he is! Haha wow.

  • Hahahahahaha!

Bush didn't try to be buddies if a bunch of towelheads from the damn Middle East while I was over there. After what I and thousands of others saw, it's a damn crying shame that some Muslim nigger would want to be friends with them after they've said they want to wipe us off the face of the map.

  • I hate to break it to you Obama, the technology is already here to curb the use of coal and fossil fuels, no need to bankrupt any industry at the hands of the government. All you have to do is tell all your corporate buddies to back off and stop fucking with the new, emerging energy companies and independant inventors! The market will decide which is best for them- Goverments roll at the moment should be to make an even playing field for all possibilities! You don't have to make it difficult.

  • Comment removed

  • If he said he wants the coal industry "to go bankrupt" he didnt choose his words well! If for example you looked at making the non catylic converter car market in the UK bankrupt then reptrospectively this is good, but over a gradual course of time as opposed to a statement which could mean over 20 years or right now and I know Obama isn't stupid!

  • It's going to be an interesting four years...

Real loser, if you ask me.

  • Probably less interesting than the last four years, if you ask me. No new wars with other countries. How boring. *yawn*

  • ya i mean no phone tapping, his new plan called "privacy"... c'mon what is this?

  • Using coal is ultimately a bad idea. Think of it as trading your addiction for cigarettes for an addiction to alcohol. Not terribly efficient to burn it, even if it was cleaner, and far and below beyond a renewable resource. Fossil fuels would still be drained.

  • Thank you President Bush from the bottom of my heart for keeping this country safe since 9/11 - you are a great American. Only God knows the sacrifice and duty you have given this country. May all the brave men and women who gave their lives for our tomorrow rest in peace.

  • whoever made this is fucking retarded. He's speaking in political terms, hes saying for years coal has been ideal, and he is not for relying on it completely, unless and only unless it was used cleaner and safer. You like everyone else who watches the media garbage believes he has some sort of hidden agenda.

  • politicans speak in political terms.I just wanted to tell you in case you didn't know!!!!

  • what are you taling about of course i knew that. didnt you?

  • i dont want any fighting,i am no politician.

    have a nice day :-)

  • This entire video is based on ONE small grammerical technicality. At a point in the video, it states " if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way we should pursue it.", where the subtites below says "he DOES NOT want to do". When Obama said "as ooposed to saying" then proceeding with what his opinon is as far as coal goes, it was just meerly a grammtical error. The meaning of this video is clear; Obama is not Pro-coal, but if coal can be harnessed cleanly, then he has not problem with it

  • you don't even get it. He is being asked why he "supports" coal when it is the dirtiest fuel source. His answer is that coal should not be discarded simply for ideological views. He is saying that we can still use coal should the technology allow it. He is saying that caps will create a market that will provide the technology.

  • YOU dont get it

  • I think most people are just too stupid so I'm going to try to spell this out again:

Obama is in SF and the anti-coal "liberal/evil" reporter wants to know why Obama SUPPORTS coal.

Obama replies he is not a coal booster (aka he is not super-duper pro-coal), but he isn't against coal and can't take coal off the table [ignore long word you don't understand] because there are clean alternatives to banning it.

  • He was asked "why did he supporting coal?"

He replies: I am not Pro-Coal (because he supports coal plants and why he is being cross examined there in SF), but he can't take coal off the table ideologically (aka just because it is bad aka "it pollutes so we should should get rid of it") because there are cleaning alternatives so like nuclear and other "bad" things and we can still use coal and as technology improves we can use even MORE COAL.

Get it? It is ENGLISH, learn it or leave (haha).

  • LMAO you edit shit to your own advantage!

  • the real question here is did u get what he meant to say and of so why put up this vid... ppl wo look for the bad in others often find themselves

  • The statement he said here was a bit confusing. I believe you got this section backward because in the next statement that he makes about nuclear, he describes the problems with nuclear and says that goverment's role is not to pick the winner but to set standards to help entrepreneurs figure out the most efficient way.

  • this video is nothing mut edited crap that some one turned his words around and moved parts around so it would look like he was wanting too take coal off the table if you going too edit learn too do it better

  • he shud try to take the pres' job for only ONE hour - O'Bama looks so tired in this vid...think he's tired of being used by fools like the vid maker

  • There is no such thing as clean coal. It's a myth created by the coal industry. Obama's right, if coal (and nuclear) could be created cleanly and safely we should look into them--but that's currently not the case. So, since coal is a heavy polluter we need to move away from that industry. He didn't exactly say he wanted to bankrupt that industry, he just said that any companies that wanted to invest in a coal power plant would go bankrupt because of cap and trade. Future=Wind & Solar.

  • PolySciGeek, you are over parsing what he is saying and getting the wrong answer.

Frankly I think you know you are wrong, but you're just one of those assholes that has no qualms about lying.

Obama's position in Coal is very explicit. He's ***not*** opposed as an ideological matter.

"And we must find a way to stop coal from polluting our atmosphere without pretending that our nation's most abundant energy source will just go away."

    -Barack Obama, October 8 2008

  • B4 being voted......

  • lol

  • Hope the guy that made this bought a lot

of tissue for tomorrow night!!!! :)

  • personaly the coal issue isnt going to efect my vote if can use clean coal ok if not prob should build wind mills creat jobs that way like he says i am for windmills and solar panels and creating factorys to make them giving millions jobs coal is ok till then i guess well i dont get why coal issue is sapose to be so big myself mcCain taxing health care is big to me

  • Well when McCain gives you the $5000 tax credit, that's when you'll realize how much of an idiot Obama really is.
