Hi Excellent Job You Made.Iam making A Scott From Thunderbirds Have Finished The Head But Havent A Clue on How To Do The Hair, Can You Tell Me What You Did. Regards Steve
Hi Steve, Cut mohair into approximately two-inch lengths, lay it into bands of wet pva glue on glass, the pva in the middle of each length. Allow to dry, then remove by scraping with a sharp blade. Cut down the middle of the pva. Trim back the pva to the minimum needed to hold the mohair together, then cut into small tufts. Apply to the head (starting at the back and working forward) with pva making sure that the hair is laying in the correct direction. Cut and style it. Good luck! Duncan
Hi Brutaltruth, I'm sorry to hear that you don't like my work. However, I never intended that this clip should be a piece of entertainment, rather I wanted to show in my clumsy un-edited way what anyone who likes the old Gerry Anderson puppet shows can make for themselves from scratch and readily-available casts from original puppets.
Many thanks for your kind comments, I'm glad that you like my stuff. Most people seem to think that I'm simply bonkers, so it's great to hear from someone who is obviously a fellow Supermarionation enthusiast!
Glad you like my replicas AirGuitarChampion, but I'm sorry to tell you that I don't sell them - I make them purely for the enjoyment of the challenge and to display them in my own home.
The resin puppet kits are available from time to time from eBay sellers dazscarlet and powerlee. The costumes and props are all scratch-built. Good luck if you decide to have a go!
Thanks - I keep going back to my puppets and sorting things I'm not happy with. I just added Phones' watch as I forgot to make that when I did the main build. His gun holster is currently empty - one day I'll get around to making his pistol, even though it won't be seen. I'm in the process of preparing six heads of different characters ready for painting, eyes and mohair. It all takes a very long time :)

Where did you obtain the puppet?

Hi DrSonrisas
Glad you like my replica Phones.
The plain resin parts for the puppet came from eBay (sellers dazscarlet or powerlee can supply) and I scratch-built the injector seat and costume.
Best wishes,
Duncan.

Phones was my favourite. I loved his South Carolina accent.
