  • God is your own inner experience we ppl are god ourselves we create our offspring and form our own reality not by technology but by our own experience. We should have our own freedom and choices to do what we want as ppl and not let a book guide our lives but guide your own life

  • Seek that what you truely seek the way of the dhamma what is your own devine truth nothing inlife is the truth but your own

  • Im a monk now my friend have a PHD in buddhism studied in srilanka and buddha is not god it is yourself journey seeking your innerself seing who you truely are

  • every bad things happens because of me .

message for request .please request you to at the time ancient ,puranic times ,there may be mistake of one or two persons .mistakes would have been due to bad wisedom or bad fate .at that time itself mistakes would have rectified and proper steps would have taken for betterment each others that mistakes should not be repeated .there would have be no problems .

  • that is true we both buddha the same only different ideas

  • @lumbanraja2

Thank you for the video reply. It's good. Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu.

  • I think it is high time to cross examine Buddhist text of all schools along with the time line they were documented and compile the most authentic teachings of Buddha. After reading through some of the pali texts i feel that some of the teachings of Buddha is distorted.especially interpretation of dependent origination, karma and reincarnation.

  • in theravada buddhism we call it nibbana it full enlightenment and then again i will not react the same way your acting towards me now buddha once said do not believe anything you read or hear not even believe what i say thus the buddha said

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • well i was a former theravada monk and buddha was a teacher not a god he was a great teacher not a god who came up with the idea that buddha was god he is a teacher nothing els,it sometimes amazes me that some other streams say buddha is god while buddha himself said not to see him as a god but as a great teacher,as buddha also said after nirvana there is nothing anymore nirvan a is the end

  • All Mahayana schools hold that the Buddha was not a god, in fact there is a term which is also said in Theravada, he is the teacher of both gods and men, gods and men are still samsaric beings.

  • ya do not understand mahayana buddhism that much friend becoz i been a theravada buddhist all my life

  • The fact that you have been a Theravada Buddhist does not qualify your statement of 'ya do not understand mahayana buddhism that much.' It is simply a non-sequitur. Use logical statements please.

  • hi,i m a burmese theraveda buddhist n dont kno much about mahayana school. If u know both schools generally, can u tell wat the major/general difference is between the two schools in their practices/teachings(not history).

  • Generally, it is different in motivation. Humble motivation for self enlightenment and nirvana without remainder for Theravada generally. For Mahayana, there is vast motivation to awaken yourself and strive for full Samyaksambuddhahood in order to help alleviate the suffering of others. That is why it is called Mahayana, it just means vast vehicle of motivation.

The Mahayana is based upon a principle of progression and accepting evolution in the Dharma, but Theravada is based upon conservatism.

  • i c , thanx.

  • @lumbanraja2

    Friend, that is correct that

Gotma Buddha said that nirvana is the end.

however, according to another buddha to be, he said

there is more to nirvana...beyond...that is

    intriguing to me.

    thanks. :)

  • @lumbanraja2 Do you know what is Nirvana, before you say "Nirvana is the end" ? I doubt you were even a monk !!

  • @lumbanraja2 ...If you were a "former monk" then you must be one now, right? Yes, I am new to Buddhism and Theravada teachings seem perfect. They must think the Buddha was just being noble when he said he wasn't a God. On the other hand, what does being a God mean? I think it means a being that made the universe or his offspring...Is that how they view The buddha?

  • @lumbanraja2 Rely Monk? I think you have never read any thing about Buddhist Crimes against muslims.

Does muslims in Thailand are Terrorist or your Buddhist Whom occupied pattani and killed Thousands of muslims and destroyed hundreds of mosque ( Masjed) in Pattani in Southern Thailand?

Does muslims terrorist or Buddist in Myanmar Whom killed over million muslim in Arakan (in westren Burma or myanmar now)

You have to be ashamed of your dark history against muslim not to accused us .

  • Kidukoh, Khmer is a race, Pali is the language chosen by the Buddha. Although he was born a Hindu Shahi( noble one)he did not believe in the Caste System promoted by Sanskrit Scriptures.Hence Pali was born. And Khmers are just a primitive South east asian race, ruled by the Indian Shahis.

  • thanks for the informations. it's good. :)

  • @shockthebystanders,

Khmer is a language both of Sanskrit and Pali. Sometimes Khmer can be used interchangeably to mean a race of people, notably the Cambodian.

It is said that both Sanskrit and Pali will be more prominant in the world. For Khmer to have both already is a step forward.

This Khmer race is a complex race for it consists of many ethnic cultures combined. Therefore, there is no discrimination hold. According to Dharma, compassion to all sentient beings.

  • @shockthebystanders The Buddha did not speak Pali, as Pali is a later regional prakrit language. Pali is a language from western India, not from northeastern India where the Buddha taught. According to Bhikkhu Bodhi this is true as well. Pali is not the same language as the Buddha spoke, and it is only the Theravada school that still believes so. Scholars do not believe this anymore.

  • is siddhartha gautama buddha a god or not?i know that theravada buddhism known buddha as a teacher and mahayana buddhism known buddha as a god..is buddha say that he is a god or he died w/o sying it?answer pls.

  • Dear Enihpoj,

Pls forgive me for not knowing the Buddhist Script in detail. But, from my understanding, Buddha denied that he is neither god nor man. He is fully awaken. He is Knowledge Transcendance, Universal Awareness. This is from my understanding and from the sources that I picked up. Buddhism does not concern with the question of who is god, but that the focus is that one could achieve godliness. This is my understanding. There are gods in Buddhism, but they're manifestations of supreme

  • goodness by humans, still subject to Samsara (wordly cycles). Buddha is concerned in finding that ultimate state of total bliss, not temporary ones. Therefore, he outlines the path to achieve Nirvana. He said whether or not god exist does not concern one with the objective to be free from samsara. Therefore, it is futile to contemplate on god. One should rely on a master and ultimately on self for liberation. If one were to seek God, then one would not go wrong with High Dharma as one's God.

  • This is my understanding. Thank you for your question. I am just offering you my opinion based on my understanding. Thanks.

  • thanks for the reply!!!!

  • in theraveda buddhism, as u said ,the followers dont regard him as god but as a mortal human being like us. But we believe that ,through reincarnation/previous lives, he did many gud deeds/training(gain experience) befor the life of SidarthaGautama. It is that experience that makes him a wiser/higher being(stil man, thou) than other man. jus sharing the theraveda view.

  • thanks for the more info!!!!

  • The fundamental difference between Mahayaana or Therawaada is that Mahayana philosophy believes in future Buddhas known as Bodhisatvas. Both branches exist side by side in harmony without any conflict and that is the core factor in Buddhist philosophy. Live and let live. May all beings be well and happy.

  • thank you, Indogitrust. your answer is very enlightening.

that is the fundamental teachings of buddhism...to live in harmony with both branches and that is what lok ta is doing---little by little to have khmer who are mostly Theravada buddhists to see that Mahayana buddhism is also valued, but mostly quiescent in our daily Theravada pract...for us to get the benefit of the teachings, let us concentrate on both sectors and not alienate one from another as it will breed disharmony and warfare.

  • @indogitrust Theravada has the teachings of real gauthama buddha and motivates you to follow the noble eightfold path to eliminate the suffering in this very life. where as mahayana was created after the death of the buddha due to having a schism between monks . they altered some dhamma and vinaya and established mahayana. the best thing to do is to read " anthology of pali canon" by bhikku bodhi and " introduction to mahayana .Theravada monks do metta and mahayanas do Kung fu when animals come

  • @indogitrust

The fundamental difference is that Theravada is the original teaching of the Buddha, whilst Mahayana is an altered derviation that came later. To me everything else is an irrelevancy.

The Buddha's teaching was perfect in the beginning, middle, and end. Changing it implies that it was in some way deficient. I am yet to find anything thus far in my practice to suggest that this was the case.

That being said, I concur, live and let live.

    With metta

  • @MrGunwitch I would not get involved in the technicalities of Theravada and Mahayana. If the final destination is Nirvana, there is no harm which way you follow. It is like, all roads lead to Rome, some roads are shorter and some are longer, some are dusty and some are bumpy, if you can arrive at the destination that's all what it matters.

  • @indogitrust True, there are many ways to go from point A to point B. Experiences vary and results do vary, even if the end result is the same. Do you know what I mean? For ex. Mogallana, Sariputta, and Visakha, just to name a few. Both reached Arahatship or Nirvana. But, do you think they all have the same expertise?---the same major? No. They all have different talents as attested to their different inspirations and deeds. Thus, they differ even if they all attain Nirvana/Arahat

  • @indogitrust Likewise, all Buddha vary in their talents even if they all attain Nirvana. Except for "Preah Pudh MahaSeyNang" (12 Female Buddha who were all wives to a king once upon a time, hence their name: MahaSeyNang), that I am aware of, who achieved enlightenment at the same time and same hour with the same fruits for their actions were all the same. However, the tale of "Preah Pudh MahaSeyNang" is not discussed in any current Buddha Script for they are not found by Him to talk

  • He's speaking khmer. I know because it's my language.

  • english?

  • As for Mogallana MahaArahat (Buddha's second Chief Deciple), He went to broadcast Dhamma as well. He went to this country called originally as "Kataksela Nokor". This country, when MahaArahat Mogallana went to broadcast Dhamma, He was not as successful as MahaArahat Ananda and Laughing Buddha. That is why Shakyamuni Gautoma Buddhism is mainly seen in Asia, where most Buddhists are seen.

  • As for Ordainations, originally they follow Dhamma according to Buddha's dispensation. Later on there are Ordaination Dhamma called "Mahem-nikai or Thorma-yut (Mahayana or Theravada Buddhism)". These were not created by Buddha Himself at all, but Buddha allowed that to exist, and so we have branches of Buddhism called Mahayana and Theravada Buddhisms.

  • Thankyou :)
