Magnificent and profound........this song raises the bar for all works of art. It isn't just extraordinarily beautiful music, it is gifted poetry.......it isn't just poetry, it is in-your-face prescience politically and philosophically. If it scares some people, well, maybe it should.
God. This song is just... wow. This woman and her voice never cease to amaze me. Whether or not she writes all the lyrics, I don't know, but she certainly gives them amazing quality.
Suddenly, the room takes on a mystical atmosphere, as if the song is filling every possible space with the mysterious power of Mother Nature herself. And, in the span it takes for the mildly disturbing (in a somehow utterly lovely way), it begins to fill you in its entirety... and, if just for four minutes and thirty-eight seconds, you are simply empowered by this amazing, graceful force, and you become a part of it all.
This song hits home to me. The feeling of waiting, resting just oassing time while someone does everything, but not what you had hoped and leaving. Yup. There's my life in a nutshell. Only part of why I love Vienna!
Personally, I listen to this song and it feels like she is putting a voice to the chaos around us in every situation. If the craziness had a voice, this is what it would say.
This seems like… I don't know, a natural disaster, maybe, but from nature's perspective? Or something. But, god, this song is just so beautifully haunting, it's gorgeous. I could listen to this without tiring of it for absolute *ages*.
