I wanted to make the desk so it would come apart in sections for moving but it would have been a lot more work because of the front grill and base molding so I measured the elevator in the building ( which I recommend anytime you build something large) to make sure I could get in to the clients office. A couple good helpers and a good dolly and it was no problem to deliver.
At least 2000. LOL! A nice job though...plenty clamps I noticed. And dovetailed everything with an Omni-jig. That thing should last forever...just would hate to have to move it is all. I thought the design and the furniture building were astounding.
Yo man, My son's name is Daniel Termini also. He is in Philly just out of college with a 5 year architecture degree. He is working for Green Peace while he struggles to find a job in the natural and sustainable design field. If you ever come through Frederick,MD look me up. Chow Dave
Please tell me that you're NOT serious??? My mom named me Daniel Termini as well!!! She said that I was named after my dad, whom I have never met! Dad??? Is that you???
Sorry. I tried, but I just could NOT resist! Nice video, Pap! LOL!
I love old hand tools especially buck chisels and carving tools. The steel is very easy to sharpen and get a good edge. Parts can sometimes be found on the web. Even newer machines can sometimes be hard to find parts. My 20 year 10 inch table saw needed a part and I finally found an after market part in Canada. Thanks Dave
Thanks, My son designed the desk, he is an arthitecture student. The client had pictures of the style she wanted and he worked from them. The challenge was figuring out how to get everything together. The client was short so the total height of the desk was 28 inches. I used story boards full size to lay out the criterial parts. Thanks Dave

I notice you seem to like the older tools. Any problems locatings parts? Sometime the older tools will out preform.

First off, WOW!! Second, did you design the desk? How long did it take you for completion?
Was that a Foley Belsaw Planer I noticed? Do you still have the attachements for it?
Thanks

You built a very nice desk. I saw that you put a fluted board on the casing. Was that exclusively decorative.
