Far as I can tell, they aren't really related directly, except that they both seem to deal with hopelessness - the video deals with being confronted by it, and the song deals with overcoming it. Might be a pretty general interpretation, but that's what I got out of it.

I hope you don't mind me answering your question. The artist wants to express how he feels about the wrongs he has experienced. He hurts the way that young lover hurts. That is why he is "screaming to God". I also wish that horrible scene did not have to be there, but feeling it... is useful.
