  • Does anyone know if there's a commercially-available transcription of this wonderful ballad available? I would love to learn it. This is one of the most beautiful nylon string guitar performances I have yet heard. Absolutely lovely.

  • @GeorgiaBoy1961: Got so caught up in this performance, I lost my ability to write a coherent sentence... sorry about that!

  • Great playing! Perfect execution, nice dynamics, a class act.

  • Really a joy to listen to. There is a very nice version Earl does of this song

with Al Jarreau doing a great job on the vocals. Well worth a listen.

  • Just wonderfull,thank you earl

  • Reminds me of Christmas snuggling with that special someone.

  • I've been listening to song this so much recently.

  • all the guitarist should be like this not like the hard metal rock or watever

  • This is waht music was meant to do to your soul. Playing something so beautiful. Proves all the guitar tapping, spped and pounding out notes is not necessary.

  • I allways listened to that tune sang by Al Jarreau but didn't know that Earl Klugh played it.

    Just a masterpiece.Thanks for posting.

  • God bless you Earl for blessing us with this tune

  • Really fine i had forgotten thes wonderfull music. Ivan rane

  • SWEEEET

  • @Andrewcis: Why bring race into something so peaceful and beautiful? There are some white ppl who can play just as well and when you close your eyes to listen it really does not matter what the color is. People are ppl and clearly GOD is not racist because he gave gifts and talent to all ppl. I have learned to give all ppl the benefit of the doubt until they give me reason to see them otherwise. Please try to be fair minded and just in your thinking. Boney James is excellent and so is Kenny G.

  • This song can lift those spirits of the most down hearted people.

    Nuff said.

  • This is so pretty !! Klugh was highly endorsed by the late great CHET ATKINS, and is a wonderful player to say the least !! His music really is a healing for our minds & souls ! I was given a Christmas present a few years back, and it was an EARL KLUGH cassette tape.I was not familiar at that time with Mr. KLUGH, but fell instantly in love with his warm, rich,& pleasing tone ! When I saw him on a CHET special on T V ,he was so genuine and a real gentleman !! He's still my teacher ! GOD BLESS

  • Terrific song by Earl Klugh! It reminds me my terrific college years!

  • this song reminds me to THE love of my parents.

    mom & dad R.I.P

  • @maluku26 You choked me up with that one... and I'm as hard as a railroad spike.

  • oh my God, this song seem like spiritual healing for me

  • Earl Klugh is a gift to the world.

  • COOL JAZZ

  • I love this mans's playing for years .. amazing .. just amazing

  • Earl, thank you for the beautiful playing...made my day better.

  • WOWZOE!!!! THIS IS BEAUTIFULL!!!!!!!

  • absolute classic...

  • anyone know anything about this tunes history?

did Klugh write it? if not, who did?

did he record it on an album? if so, which one?

    Thanks

  • There's a singing quality that Earl achieves in his guitar playing that is, I think, somewhat unique. Magic touch!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • One of my favorite acoustic guitar player.

  • GOD GIFTED...

  • this is how u play the guitar for all u white folks who try to

  • @Andrewcis u didn't have to say that c'mon man

  • @Andrewcis there's too much racist comments on the net. stop about the color, are you depressed ?

  • @Andrewcis

Now why would someone say something so ridiculous? ...as if there were no great guitar players that happen to be white. I always find remarks such as yours puzzling. Does your statement imply that this video clip is somehow only for whites, and not for black folks that “try to” play? Maybe you believe that there are no black people trying to play guitar? Or, perhaps you believe that Earl’s race somehow magically enabled him to play. Way to rule out the years of dedication/devotion.

  • @Andrewcis way to undermine the years of dedication he's put into his passion. Idiot.

  • @Andrewcis Earl is humble, nobody would care if he was bright pink. Listen to the music moron.

  • You haven't won a washing machine but I wanted to let you know that I randomly threw my hand on the keyboard at Google and it was "Klugh" what accidently went through the engine. And so I found your video. What are the odds, what do you think?

And by the way, very nice song!

  • the sound so subtle and so enchantingly rapturous

  • What is in your opinion, the best album of Earl Klugh?

    Thank you, bye! :)

  • Sweetness

  • Geat

  • Woaw... I'm wondering how I could have lived without knowing this guy. So much beauty and peacefulness, really heart-touching music !

  • I am feeling "Rest in Peace.........." great song and great player.....Earl

  • This guy has more talent than all rappers put together!

  • @57bigjoe must be tough to live life so negatively that you can't compliment Earl's ability, so you try to pass off an ignorant comment as a compliment instead.

  • @juggahnic Lets take it another step.If were to ask him what his thoughts on todays rap music and its effect on todays youth he would probably say (and of course im just speculating)Im very disgusted and appalled with the lack of intelligence these rappers have represented themselves with!

  • @juggahnic Im putting earl on a pedestle at the same time im mocking the no talents!

  • Smooth melody, that's what Earl means to me.

  • Very nice... love it! it feels good to hear songs like these... : )

  • No one can copy Earl Klugh's style to perfection. He is excellently unique!

I don't care what type of instrument as long as I can play a musical relaxing song.

I may be listening to some other chaotic type of song, but songs like these at the end of a very terrible day just makes life float like a feather.

  • Earl Klugh,

Thank You, Whether you know it or not, You have touched/INSPIRED so many lives as well as dedicated Guitar Players trying to copy your Style = Relaxed, Cool, Polyphonic and UPLIFTING.

    Thank You!..

  • Classical guitars have a mix of steel strings for the first two or three, and nylon or softer material for the last three (or four). They are spaced apart further than typical acoustic guitar strings to accommodate fingerpicking guitar styles, which require a little bit of room to navigate the neck of the guitar. -just fyi-

  • All the the strings are made of nylon. Its just that base strings have steel wound around the nylon core.

  • ♪♪♪ simply amazing! Happy Birthday Earl!

  • I can hear the patience in his song. He truly is at peace & ONE with his instrument, I'm sure that with such a power he could, if he wanted to, part the seas with an effortless tune.

This man is a great giver of himself & is without fear, Thank you Earl.

  • Yes, and I bet he plays his guitar everyday because he WANTS to. I know Nokie Edwards of the Ventures and he plays everyday-he will actually be so comfortable, he will sometimes late at night fall asleep playing the guitar-to men like Earl & Nokie playing music is like breathing-they need it and will gladly play for anybody at anytime, they get as much pleasure from playing as we derive from listening. I would hate to live in a world without music!

  • I really wish I could see him perform live, Love your playing and I will watch your videos over and over...

  • Damn! he is playing 8 string guitar! Earl klugh love him since I was 15 yrs. The best ave seen on Guitar

  • He performed this song in Detroit last week. I had no idea it had lyrics. It added to the brilliance of it.

EK is a blessing to smooth jazz!

  • Woooooooooooow. Que lindo vei. Coisa maravilhosa. Violão divino. que limpo!!

  • cool when you sit near fire with friends, play guitar and drink beer and 120% chill.
