Most comedy, especially the ones that provide social commentary, are usually offensive. It resonates with people quicker, and easier, when it is over the top. Most people know the clicks and clacks are not Ethiopian, and isn't the video for people that do not.
I think this video is allright, just a bit too long, if you ask me. But I think I got the message and that's the main point..... but honestly, after reading the comments right below mine, I would also be offended if you would imitate a german accent... but that's the way it goes, there will allways be a few people offended by things you're saying and doing.. but this shows that your on the right track.... ;)
I think this video is allright, just abit to long, if you ask me. First of all Ethiopia has over 80 languages and none of them sound like that. Some of our languages are the oldest in the world including older than english. You should stop with the stereotype click clack language because you make all Americans seem very ignorant.
I get the video I'm offended by the stupidity. How ignorant can you people get? How in the world did you even come up with the conclusion that we spoke like that? It sounds nothing like it. You ignorant people out there need to travel the world more.....how pathetic.
I don't think you do get the joke. Its message delivered through silliness and obviously flawed and ignorant characters is basically serving to communicate the very viewpoint you're presenting below. And by doing so comically, the message is more likely to stick with people. You're reacting as though this sketch is ignorantly perpetuating harmful stereotypes, when in fact its a critique of American culture in the form of an absurd conversation.
Did you hear the dude that was suppose to be the normal one? He said "C'mon man you know Ethiopian is just click and clack". How sad like I said. I can't believe I wasted 4 mins of my time watching this.
I don't know how, but you're still misinterpreting this sketch to be a display of genuine ignorance when if fact these guys are fully aware of what they are trying to communicate. It's intended to be a silly, and exaggerated way of rebuking such behavior in real life. They're not trying to make fun of other cultures, but to make fun of people who do make such ignorant assumptions.
You think it's only these clowns? Look at Southpark and all these other crappy shows. I love America okay I've been raised here. But the people are so culturally ignorant. And I'm not just talking about white people either.
1. The "Ethiopian" language in question is, of course, not Ethiopian. In fact, the language being parodied would be closer to the Xhosa language of South Africa which is rather distinctive for having a prominence of click consonants. Our assigning this language to the wrong country is simply called parody because many people outside of Africa have no idea of the wide variety of languages used there.
2. Mistaking this for a linguistics lesson was quite silly.
I think you guys were almost TOO funny on your first episode, like if you make it any funnier your audiences heads might suffer explosive awesomeness overload. props for representin ZOLTAR

If you were actually offended by this video then you've missed the point of it entirely.

To clear up misconceptions:
