I don't know what she did...but this song is way too powerful for it not have had the affect it should have. Gospel has never been about voice, but feeling. She has a beautiful voice with no feeling.

If you think jumping, screaming, and yelling are signs of the anointing you are sadly mistaken.

She just doesn't have it. (not on this song at least)...it's a spiritual thing..can't be earned or learned. Heather sounds beautiful, looks beautiful, moves gracefully..but the anointing isn't there..

Not being bias against secular artist.. I've seen Mariah Carey sing a song and the anointing was THERE! But, it was only for that 1 song and for that 1 moment. It's God's discretion, not mine.

But its almost like thats what you mean. You can't assume that God didn't accept what she did just because the audience was subdued and you didn't feel it. I felt the song and anointing when I heard it. Like you said, its for God to decide, not us. Anointed to one person may not be to another.

My reaction wasn't based upon the audience response nor did I say God didn't accept what she sung. I could preach and some will be helped and some may not, but it wouldn't be under the anointing because I don't have it for preaching. Just because it helped some doesn't mean it was anointed preaching.

It may be sound doctrine and all, but doesn't make it anointed.

I guess we have a difference of opinions or understand anointing differently. My spirit says the song was w/o anointing.

@cstudent04 I agree with you. AND Too many people mistake an emotional experience for something "annointed" there is a fine line between the two. "I know the Lord will make a way" is pretty much the typical gospel song lyric unfortunately. There is so much more depth from God's word to be sung than just that. Granted its truth, and its something to be blessed by. But God wants us to sing from the riches found in his word. Old Hymns are a good example of that. They have lyrics to shout about!!

The gift of singing is both natural and can be obtained! The anointing is only given of God, and you don't earn or gain it, you operate in and under it!

Wll the great thing about time is you learn alot, I've learned from what i said before from the bible and it is true that you can't earn annointing....But a gift is not natural its only spiritual, a talent is natural and is the skill you have. The annonting is the operation of the gift you have. But you can only know how to use it through time with God. So you can be a talented singer but not have the gift to minister it. Ministering is the Gift not singing! I love the word of GOD :)!
