...I like the short ovals because it really highlights driver talent in their ability to set-up the car as well as their reaction time in accelerating and lifting in the turns. Gateway was a good track for the above mentioned, I attended & enoyed two IRL Indycar races there (2001-2002).

I don't believe the IndyCar Series will be returning to any ISC-owned oval in the near future. Sadly Phoenix and Michigan are two great ovals with a long Indycar history that are just that....history.

I wish the new Indycar had more short ovals like this. Gateway, Phoenix and Loudon should be on the schedule with Milwaukee, Iowa and Richmond.
