  • to do this trick u need to find YOUR WAY TO DO IT!,he likes to put the thumb to mark the card,u need to find the deck position, the hand move etc...,this vid help cause he says all the important things, but u dont need to do like him, nice vid,+1 like :P

  • Is this just a variant of the Cardini change? Or is it the same thing?

  • how do you not do any noise with your hand?

  • This Change shouldn't even have an creator, it's something that every card magician should experience at one point when they practice those PASSES. I even created a bunch of moves using the PASSES by accident.

  • THE SECRET: There's a product bank tellers use to count money called "Tacky Finger" or "Fingertip Moistener" sold in office supply stores. This is the real secret to creating the friction needed to handle cards like a pro. Handy tip: it will work 1000% better if you apply it after washing (and drying) your hands with warm water.

  • HOW DO YOU GET YOUR FINGERS TO DO THAT??? AHHHH!!!

  • i think you could do that with your right hand( if you're right-handed) and then just catch the whole deck to pull that onto the top card that is being flicked upwards, that way you could go into a ribbon spread position and helps most people who couldn't do a proper thumb fan every time they try( the newbies)

  • Ah, you mention a problem I have with many marketed tricks. They work better on camera then they do in person. As much as I love Ellusionist, they do it a lot. Either the setup is impossible in front of people or it's too angle sensitive/noisy. Great tutorial though, I'll definitely give this one a try. Though I'll be modifying it to be silent. Thanks! :D

  • when i do it i flip like 2 or more cards how do you make to a single card :P

  • @flikka1985 that's the point with the thumb break, it helps to only lift the top card. I had the same problem :D

  • this is not the ego change

  • Jesus christ that's a nice mat..

  • when i do this, i make sound to the deck...

  • this is like a one hand reversal right?

  • I canget the ove just fie but i cant make it go to the bottom. is it my smal hands or do i just have to keep trying??????????????????????

  • i just cant get my fingers to move that way, do you have any warm ups of conditioning exercises for the fingers?

  • @gloomypoet I would suggest maybe a coin roll on your fingers...difficult to master, but once you can do it, it increases dexterity massively. Or, you could learn a pen spinning exercise, same thing really.

  • Thanks. Good tutorial. Keep it up.

  • thank you man...i really appreciate that

  • Looks cool, but has such a loud tell.

  • takes alot practice to do this one right?

  • It takes some practice. I am doing this for 8 months now and still have to make it abit faster, however I can do a really good one. I do cardini btw.

  • Yup, very nice mat man.

  • A magic convention in Manchester about a year ago. Good buy :)

  • thanks

  • when i do it slow it says a "schhhh.." sound and when i do it fast it makes a flick sound, got any tips for making it fast and silence at the same time?

  • don't handle the cards so tigtly.. this is like cardini change.. i use a variation of that, which is teached in tivo 2.0 of the trilogy dvd by dan and dave buck.. it doesnt make sound at all or just a little one.

  • how does the audience not here the sound made by the carde when flicked to the bottom?

  • I'm afraid there isn't much that can be done to mask the sound. This card change is best done in a noisy environment. You could maybe say something at the same point. Or riffle the cards.

  • how long did you need to practice when you were able to do it

  • i do a variation of this trick using a snap on the uper corner of the first card, so it covers the noice when you turn the card arround the deck.

It takes a few days, its not too hard to do

  • @danharris666

nah its just becouse You wxplain it wrong, :P in ego You use only small finger the smallest then it will be silent :)

and a comment why the hell you explain somthing that you know for 3 h ?

  • @prestigiocatore actually if you're only using the little finger for the change then surely it'll swing and become a Cardini Change, not an Ego change...

  • @WeAreTheMetro indeed but in cardini you have fourth finget in beeth first card. in ego you slide a card with this finger ...

  • How do you mask the sound made by the card?

  • Try clicking with the hand not doing the flip, this makes it look more magical and if you have a loud click you have a small hop of covering the sound

  • thank you very much! Very well done tutorial and great explanations. 5/5. And I subscribed! Nice Work!

  • how long do u think an untrained hands could master tihs? damn this is awesome trick =P

  • Depends just how untrained your hands are haha. But I'd say, just whenever you're sat doing nothing, pick up a deck and do it...keep doing it over and over and over. Should take about 2 weeks methinks.

Thanks for the compliment too :)

  • ahh. okie. i'll just keep practicing and practicing then, haha. thnx alot for the vid and the reply!

  • No problem :) I don't mind replying to nice people haha.

  • if anyone wants to no how its really done msg me

  • Or, watch this video. Don't post sarcastic, stupid comments implying that you are in some way better than me. Thanks.

  • u only use your pinkie for the cardini change and its fast

the ego change uses the index and pinkie and its slow

  • i think my hand is too small D:

  • Wrong.

  • u only use ur pinkie and index finger and its a slow change not a fast one

  • thats the cardini change ur talking about

  • I dont get this, I cant do that with my fingers...

  • Thats what she said.

  • Do you know any way to prevent it from making so much noise?

  • try to snap your finger

  • thank you

  • i still can't do it...=[

  • good job!!

  • tnx man ur the best :)

  • if you now how to execute the cardini change you now how to execute ego ...

  • The only thing I hate about the change is that it is loud. Like I cant do it in a normal room with silence and get away with it.

  • where should be the spectator be to make it look clean ?

  • After moving the top card with your ring and little fingers, keep your thumb in the top left corner and grip the cards tight. It normally prevents them falling.

  • If you use just your index finger, you can get it to make no sound at all.

  • How do you just use your index finger? It's impossible, you won't be gripping the cards and inevitably drop them.

  • well of course i use my whole hand to hold the deck, but i just pull the one card away with my index finger. I've never dropped then.

I hold one side with the thumb so they don't slide around, and pull with the index.

  • Erm, alright, whatever you say mate. Make the change your own like I said.

  • Whenever i sue any more than my index the cards just pop up and go everywhere which is never a good thing when performing a trick.

It might be that i use my right hand instead of my left, probably has nothing to do with it though.

  • love it!! its hard to do it for me but im practice more and more ty 10/10

  • this is closer to the cardini already. do it slower, way slower.

  • thx !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  • the first time i tried i dropped the whole pack!

  • lol

  • I feel its a bit loud. If you cover the sound with a riffle it might take some heat off of the fact that you are "doing something"

  • i think the best change people should try is the modified version of the cardini change as taught by the bucks for the tivo 2.0

  • diffently. if you can do ego its good to

  • a perfect ego change have no noise and looks natural, the problem is that it's angle sensitive in some ocasions.

  • I agree, i think other colour changes definitely work better live.

  • An alternative is to hit the top of the deck. Timed correctly, you hand coming down to hit the deck will visually cover the sleight, and the sound of your hand hitting the deck will mask the sound of the sleight. Time it right though, you don't want to f*&^ up your card :P

  • Awesome tutorial!!!

  • i keep puling down both of the cards. any help please?

  • I suggest a bigger break inbetween the cards you are changing, try it and let me know if it works.

  • it works much better with newer cards

  • I guess my ego change looks okay but when I perform it, it always makes a loud snap. Has anyone got tips to prevent this from happening?

  • try it slower. make it a card melt rather than a change. :]

  • your probably trying to rush it,keep doing it slower

  • u have any finger excersises that strengthen the three fingers that pull?

  • i'm pulling half the deck down. that and if i do manage to make it work, my index finger is blocking the card from moving lol

  • got any tips to make the learning process easier

  • partice

  • practice ya how bout that snapping sound?

  • kool thxs

  • awesome

  • I don't really do comments but you tought that well mate.

Anyway what is all the "subscribe" stuff on youtube?

  • Thanks. If you subsribe to my videos you will see on your youtube homepage when I upload new videos. Just keeps you informed really. :D

  • thank u

  • nice trick and tutorial dude!!!

  • cool

  • Very good tutorial very nice manipulation man

  • great tutorial i work on it

  • when i get the break with the top card and push down i always put both the cards down do you have any tips

  • cery good tutorial thx a lot

  • very helpful and thanks for the vid

  • i have problems getting 1 card off. i either just move the deck and bit or none at all. do u apply light or heavy pressure?

  • Nice trick and nice tutorial!

  • the ambitious card routine with the ego change at the end would be sickkk

  • no it wouldnt

  • how did u do that force

  • Very Well...HAHAHA.

    Sorry. LOL.

  • thx , this is nice for ACR

  • yeah, i sometimes use it in my own ACR actually.

  • i'm definatly not better than you but the only thing i couldsay (positive criticism) when you do it rather than going black to black or red to red go red to black or black to red from my experiences it looks more effective and it's more "in your face" kind of thing! loved the tutorial anyway thanks for posting!

  • it was only by chance, i just picked a card and used the one next to it. and in MY experience i've found that spectators can still see that a card has changed.

    thanks anyway mate :D

  • this is how i like tutorials: easy to understand and quick

a lot of the other tutorials were a pain to even try to understand.

    thanks dude!!! :)

  • Best tutorial fer this change yet i subsrcibed

  • awesome mate, thanks :D

  • very nice i might use that one

  • thanks!! is that the move they use in the dream of aces trick?

  • there are no moves in dream of aces its a simple trick

  • no some people do that move in it like David copperfield does

  • i researched it and it can be used in transposition tricks, but ive never seen it done in dream of aces...

  • iv seen it on there idk if its the same trick but it looks the same

  • cool, well it would be well good in dream of aces.

  • yah

  • nice! thanks dan

  • nice =] hey can u make some tutorials on card fanning and stuff like that?

  • yeah definately, im gonna post a trick called the invisible deck next, but then I think i will do that! thanks for the idea!

  • yey i knew this but it is not that easy but pretty good change i was wondering do u know the Duck change?
