  • I thought this was a country where our people were the voice, where the government would fear the populace. It is not that way, we live under a totalitarian government.

  • Atlanta police must be really busy at halloween that's all I can say

  • So the police try to reason with the Anons, and the anons repeatedly call out the cops as "fascists" simply for telling them to take off the masks. These kids have been watching WAY too much V for Vendetta if they all think that our government is ruled by the same one as Adam Sutler.

  • At 1:05 The Cop revealed the true intentions of the cops, He sais if you cover your face, then you are PROTECTING your identity. oooopppps I ahhh noo HIDING! A lot of cops are some of the nosiest people I have ever met, they are always stopping me for no reason at all except to ask who I am, where I came from, where I am going and a hundred other stupid questions that waste my time.

  • Concealing your face behind a mask with sunglasses or any other item(s) is not illegal and the police do not have a right to make you identify yourself unless they have reasonable suspicion to stop you (whether on foot or mobile). They can say what they want, but the first officer that were make this type of silly arrest would not only be laughed out of the Prosecutors office, but would also be placing himself, his department and municipality in jeopardy of a civil suit.

  • SO ITS OK FOR COPS TO HIDE THEIR FACE??

  • THIS COP IS AN IDIOT! HIDING OUR IDENTITIES IS AGAINST THE LAW?? WTF?? This cop is retarded!

  • what he's saying is that you can protect yourself against allergies. That's legal. but you can't cover your face totally up like a bandit, that does not protect you under first amendment rights on a public road.

  • You spelled Scientology wrong

  • If they were muslims, the cops wouldn't have said anything.

  • You idiots wouldnt be saying these hateful things about the police if you were getting shot at or needing the police to stay alive now would ya?

  • You dumb ass, their protecting their identities from Co$, Plus there is NO WHERE in America that it's illegal to wear mask.

  • You cannot wear a mask when taking your ID picture, why do you think is that? Why don't you try to get a Driver's license with a mask on?

Better yet: If a cop asks you to take your mask off to talk to him and you're just an innocent, lawful bystander, why are you so scared to take it off?

  • Totally different situation. One of the points of the group is to stay ANONYMOUS. Hence the name ANONYMOUS. Fucking idiot, got make stupid contradictory statements elsewhere.

  • Wow, chill. It doesn't matter what they want to call themselves and what's the point of the group: The cop made a hell of a point when he said these people were purposedly wearing masks to prevent being identified, and before a cop, there is only one reason by which a person would refuse to be identified and that's not "Belonging to a group that it's called Anonymous which purpose is to remain anonymous." It was fun to hear mr Paranoid saying "Shades on, they can identify you by the eyes!" tho.

  • No he really didn't because they aren't there to commit a crime of any sorts. I am Chill.

  • I don't care, I wasn't there. I'm just pointing out that a group so vehement about remaining in the dark has very little numbers to get any kind of support outside the group. You know, we the Non-anonymous tend not to trust the words of people whose faces we can't see. Just human nature.

  • *Sigh* You're an Idiot.

  • Why? because I wouldn't trust a person that needs to hide his face to make a point?

  • No because you fail to see the significance in the Mask. Plus yooz just be trollin'

  • The significance of the mask in anonymous is that it's the message what matters, not the person. My personal perception, however, is that it must be a very weak message if a face can cast a shade on it, so I'm compelled to think there is something else about it, something on the lines of people seeking the refuge of anonimity to do and say things they would never say or do if they had to put their face on it.

  • Again, You've still missed the significance. So I'm done.

  • Soo according to the so called "law" that the officer states, everyone dressed up on Halloween should be arrested, no?

  • People celebrating halloween don't wear masks to prevent being identified by the police. I will ask again: If the people in the video weren't there to cause trouble, what kept them from taking their masks off? Why was so important to keep their faces hidden?

    I have some ideas.

  • STUPID SWAT TEAM IS STUPID

  • DEKALB EPIC MAIL

  • The cops look like the cops from Half life 2 xD

  • I wonder how many of these people would go protest without a mask.

  • Due to the fair game policy are there not real questions regarding the safety of not wearing a mask?

  • Were there seriously riot cops in the background? Do they even know what peaceful protesting means?

    What a bunch of clowns.

  • their job is to Protect and Serve right? wtf are they doing here?

  • someone throw a molotov

  • How do they deal with women wearing wigs and excessive make-up?

How would they deal with transvestites? (don't answer that)

How would they deal with a belly dancing Turkish woman wearing a veil?

Until they have reasonable suspicion that a crime is going to be commited they cannot detain a person. For the record, exercising your 1st Ammendment rights is not considered suspicion.

Police rarely know the law, only their limited interpretation.

  • That is bullshit, having a mask, sunglasses and a hood pulled up is not a violation of the fucking law. They dont have to identify themselves anyway to a cop just because they want it. They arent breaking any laws protesting, now if they are on private property without permission of the owner thats a different thing. However it appears they only targeted one person for covering their face.

  • It may or it may not be a violation of the law, but if someone is intentionally wearing a mask to prevent being identified, the logical train of thought is to think he's doing it because he's up to something.

nobody wears a mask because it's trendy.

  • @AmericanPoliceState I am very anti protest goon, but saying that you can not hide your face for whatever reason you want is such a fundamental violation of human rights, it is not even funny.

  • @oldpreach violation of human rights?

  • @AmericanPoliceState Yeah, I mean, making a law saying that you can not cover your face in public ??? It probly has something to do with the fact that they are at a protest. I know that you can not carry a firearm concealed where I live at a political protest even if you have a permit.

  • Use face paint to cover your whole face you know like a clow or mime, kinda hard for them to tell you to take it of unless they provide soap and water. Is there even a law against covering your face??? And if your really paranoid wear sun-glasses and a hat over that.

  • Pigs

  • Police priority is public safety. I fully understand the mask as a hazard to them. Don't give the police a hard time please.

If there was an assault on a scientologist (GOOD!), they'd need a description on the suspect. They're just doing their jobs.

But....you know they agree with you but aren't allowed to say it.

    Expect us.

  • What about halloween?

  • I bet their were like 15 bank robbery's during that

    lmfao. swat fails

  • Isn't their a freedom of expression?

    Masks aren't illegal.

  • What about the "masks"(helmets) of the swat team?? Are they breaking the "law" too?? We cant identify them either.

If you ask me, these are enemies of the Republic. They have violated our 1st amendment and they should be shot on site.

  • That one officer was actually pretty chill.

  • lol @ the SWAT team

  • This just shows why I'm leaving once I can afford it. Bai bai america!

  • Illegal to hide your identity? What's halloween about then? It's only illegal when it suits them. Facists.

  • in germany you can also be arrested 4 hiding your identity. im lucky to live in austria^^

  • isnt the first amendment free speech? i didnt see any violations of it.... the cop seemed pretty cool considering. i dont see the need for the swat team on the other side of the street though very excessive.

  • Is there an Anonymous lawyer in Atlanta? If so u need one at the next protest. Go Anonymous!

  • what a jackass cop-retard, I hope the Atlanta PD sees this and put a gag order on this moron cop. I don't think the other cop was backing up the fat-cop on the left.

  • its illegal to wear a mask when you commit a crime not when you are protesting. Cops are not the be all end all when it comes to constitution, ignorant morons. FTP's

  • all you are fucking idiots you can't wear a mask in dekalb the violates the county law and you dumb asses are protesting near people homes you can careless

  • Why don't cops just leave people the fuck alone. I'm starting to think they just make up laws on the spot to fuck with people.

  • Fucking with people is fun! I'm sure u do it too. Hypocrite!

  • That sucks....no masks... I bet the jail cells get filled with all those tricker treaters....what a fucking joke, sad to see "THE LAW" practicing this bullshit.

  • Actually the mask law in Atlanta does exist but it only applies to building interiors. You are not allowed to wear an identity obscuring mask inside of a public building within a commercial area. The law ony exists so that hotel and store security cameras can identify you. I learned about this at AWA where security told cosplayers that they could only put on masks outside or in the open convention area. The way these police were using the law was wrong.

  • Wow... A freaking riot control squad at the ready!? It's not like the protesters were gonna CHARGE THE "CHURCH" of them idiots. Cops are ridiculous

  • Wow... A freaking riot control squad at the ready!? It's not like the protesters were gonna CHARGE THE "CHURCH" of them idiots. Cops are ridiculous

  • You must be a fortune teller! Your ridiculous :p Sleep tight! kisses

  • Cite the law they were violating by covering there face, I've never heard of it.

  • It might be a local law, you know one of them that never got removed? In some states of the USA there are actually laws that says you can't marry if you don't own a pig.

Scientology probably found this obscure mask law, then called the county police and told them what horrible crimes the protesters were doing.

Next time, use movie latex and disguise yourself that way. They won't be able to even see you are wearing masks if you do it rite.

  • Ah, blue laws, gotcha.

  • I think you could have argued the fact that you were protecting your identity from Scientologists due to past crimes they have committed against people who have protested against them. You could also give them literature of their crimes... one I found the most powerful is the price they put on their rankings... that gets officers EVERY time...

  • Knowing this can and will further an investigation in towns like Atlanta, and middle America. Educate yourselves.

And you could also let them know that you are civil and law abiding citizens, and are not criminals, exercising your amendment rights, and do not forget that they are a cult, impersonating a religion...

    Cheers,

    TDP

  • The police are not your enemies, they are there to protect and serve the public... not harass and harm you. Remember.

  • they're not dreesed like they're there to just observe - riot gear ect. line formation.

Sydney (Australia) officers wore basic uniform with fluorescent shirt over the top; there was only 4 of them with about 75-150 (not sure of exact numbers)protesters.

  • Why is Anonymous protesting at that location?

It's like in the middle of nowhere, theres no public. and cars are driving to fast to be able to read the signs.

And it's like you are protesting against the cops, instead of CoS. why not a crowded public place like the city centre?

(but i do like the videos that you guys made :)

  • because the DeKalb Co$ is directly across the street. and the reason the people are driving so fast past us is because if they started slowing, the police would ticket them - anon specifically made signs to warn them of this fact.

  • What you need is a LARGE truck to drive up and down that road with a sign on both sides about the cult, the ciminals, etc.

THen on the back you need a sign that says "DONT HONK OR YOU WILL GET A TICKET" per the local police dept.

I happen to have such a truck. Just need the signs.

  • Ok, next month ANON brings the sandwiches and the water for the Police. Put up a sign. Bring coolers. If they can feed them so can ANON. There is NO REASON for any police force to get close to an organization like that.

Understand they see ANON as the threat. They see you as the issue. SCILONS have them so convinced that ANON is a bunch of terrorists that they will jump at the cults whim. Next month should be interesting.

  • they were offered cake. :\

  • In an important case for privacy and free speech advocates, the

Supreme Court ruled recently that the First Amendment protects

anonymous political speech. In McIntyre v. Ohio Election Commission,

decided April 19, 1995, the Court struck down an Ohio law that required

the disclosure of personal identity on political literature.

  • dekalb police are owned by scientology, they eat with scions, they are paid by them.

  • What idiots. Shouldn't they be out protecting the community instead of babysitting a peaceful protest and harrassing people?

  • Are these cops that bliss..they don't know why innocent people cover their faces..Are they in the truman show?

  • Its not against the law. Show it to me in writing.

  • "Protections for anonymous speech are vital to democratic discourse. Allowing dissenters to shield their identities frees them to express critical, minority views . . . Anonymity is a shield from the tyranny of the majority. . . . It thus exemplifies the purpose behind the Bill of Rights, and of the First Amendment in particular: to protect unpopular individuals from retaliation . . . at the hand of an intolerant society."

    - 1995 Supreme Court McIntyre v. Ohio Elections Commission

  • Im sure it had nothing to do with being fed by the Scientologists:
