  • I enjoy the beatles music :D

  • i want one with herbie decals! :D

  • There's nothing wrong with that engine. My first car was an early '63 with dirty air and that's what this engine is. In fact, mine was Pearl White with a brick red interior, so this car brings back sweet memories.

  • lol ad some stripe's and some 53's and you have herbie the lovebug

  • Wow, one question what does the "D" in the back stand for?

  • @primaryification ''D'' is from ''Deutschland''.

    It means ''Germany'' in German.

  • across the universe - the beatles

  • We owned one of these when we first got married cool little bug.

Anyway, it has pipes leading from either side of the shroud , someone told me that it's a 1600 DP. Is this true?

  • Yeah if the manifold is two seamed pipes, then you have a 1600dp.

  • Sweet! Thank you!

  • What were the engine options for 1963? I can't tell which engine I've got I think it's a 1.2 but my uncle owned it before he died in 1981, he was into modifying it (even has flared fenders and such).

Could you help me out? It has two pipes leading from

  • Very nice car, although it appears to have an incorrect shroud, because a '63 should be a fresh-air heat car.

  • not early 63. A late 62 into 63 had the stale air still.

  • Or put it simply, Herbie without the stripes and numbers (possibly).

  • THAT'S the model I want. Don't mean to sound picky but the changes I'd have are that the Ariel would be on the other side, I'd have an all cream interior and a grey rag-sunroof and I'd lose the parcel-shelf under the dash, the chrome whell arch plates, mud flaps and the 'D' tag. Can't tell if it's in L87 Pearl White though. But that's my dream Bug! What do you think?

  • That is the L87 Pearl white, yes!

    cv

  • are you giving it a herbie look?
