And let's not forget that the very worst thing you could possibly do if you have genuine mental problems is consume any psychoactive drug. Cannabis has genuine medical uses...it knocks glaucoma for six, and is brilliant for those ill from chemotherapy, but as for treating the blues long term? It's worthless.

I fully support leagalising dope, but taking it for depression is not going to work. Yes, it makes you giggle, but that's not a treatment. You may as well say that drinking beer makes one less depressed. If it was THAT fuckin' easy to treat depression, there wouldn't be horrible stuff like Prozac on the market., and those who sell Prozac would not be able to keep it hushed up. Just be honest...you wanna smoke it cos you're nauseous, or you wanna get smashed and watch Inland Empire. :)

The only real differences will be that A) your tax dollars will no longer be wasted on efforts to investigate, arrest, and detain them, B) the gangs will no longer be getting rich off illegal pot sales, and C) the state will accrue mega-moola from legal pot sales. Oh and pot doesn't kill brain cells.
