That song always reminds me of home. I grew up in NYC and I haven't lived there for over 14 years now. That was a really nice video and you did a great job on that railway. Cheers!
The viaduct sections are built of wood and in time just rotted and most of the stone work has been ripped apart by Ivy and plants now. It could have been kept open but my Dad wasn't bothered to do it (even after investing all that time and money into building it) and I was too young at the time so he pulled up, sad really.
I was actually doing some gardening today :O and was thinking about if I where to relay part of it. The tunnels completely collapsed now and in pieces but maybe next spring.. who knows..
Nice video but to say sorry that the light railway got closed down though but nothing to worry about hope their will be better light railway gardens in the near future.
The wooden elevated track was removed due to serious rot and being unstable, the tracks all been kept but alot of it needs new sleepers but the ballast and stone walls are still intact, same with the tunnel.
not in this garden! to little time and alot of embankments have gone now along with the viaducts.. only the tunnel remains and thats pretty overgrown and in a bad shape. maybe one day in a new house....
I really enjoyed the series that's how i recognised the tune. I have an 00 loft layout which has succumbed to a similar fate... but built one in my garden which is still operational.
A superb movie - shows talent !

How come nature took a hold? I thought someone having invested that much time money and effort would have strived to keep it open... ???

nice video work, most video you see here on youtube is just shot. Nice touch with the music you chosen !
If the tunnels are still there you could run a short point to point RR, seasonal if so inclined: The RR looked nice

That tanker car comes real close to the tunnel ceiling!
diminastration 2 years ago
It actually just scrapes the tunnel ceiling! there was a groove cut out of the stone where it just kept clipping it after a short while!!
01276 2 years ago
why don't you just dig it up? wouldn't that be the smart thing to do?
microblah 2 years ago
dig what up? most of its gone!

What ever happened to all of the elevated track, small biuldings, and all the sement that held the track in place?
FrysUniverse1999 4 years ago

Is the Track still there?
FrysUniverse1999 4 years ago
Will you ever rebuild this railway? Looks like you put alot of effort into it and it just became wasted after it closed.

Nicely done video..I like the way it is done in the same way as the BBC series "the train now departing" ... very clever indeed.

Iwas wondering how long it would take for some one to recognise the music and where I had got the idea from!!
