  • A superb movie - shows talent !

  • What scale was it?

  • @AbuAvital Gauge 1

  • That song always reminds me of home. I grew up in NYC and I haven't lived there for over 14 years now. That was a really nice video and you did a great job on that railway. Cheers!

  • It looks really nice. Too bad it had to be closed down

  • WHY DID IT HAVE TO CLOSE???

  • Not bad at all!!!

  • How sad to lose something that special.

  • the kids that played on that slide are probably married

  • @inneedofgrace1 Not yet lol!

  • What a shame, i would love that in my garden.

  • just like real life the best railways have gone .

  • It looks like it was built out of concrete - so how come it just all collapsed?

  • The viaduct sections are built of wood and in time just rotted and most of the stone work has been ripped apart by Ivy and plants now. It could have been kept open but my Dad wasn't bothered to do it (even after investing all that time and money into building it) and I was too young at the time so he pulled up, sad really.

  • i must agree with you that is really sad , but at least you have some film of it well done

  • How come nature took a hold? I thought someone having invested that much time money and effort would have strived to keep it open... ???

  • hah you'd have to ask my Dad about that.........

  • nice video work, most video you see here on youtube is just shot. Nice touch with the music you chosen !

If the tunnels are still there you could run a short point to point RR, seasonal if so inclined: The RR looked nice

  • I was actually doing some gardening today :O and was thinking about if I where to relay part of it. The tunnels completely collapsed now and in pieces but maybe next spring.. who knows..

  • So sad - but happy memory

  • For what it's worth, it was a beautiful line.

  • This is a sad video

    Este es un triste video

  • Nice video but to say sorry that the light railway got closed down though but nothing to worry about hope their will be better light railway gardens in the near future.

  • oh, right, i thought it was just covered over by weeds and dirt.

    Would it be worth rebuilding?

  • I agree

  • That tanker car comes real close to the tunnel ceiling!

  • It actually just scrapes the tunnel ceiling! there was a groove cut out of the stone where it just kept clipping it after a short while!!

  • why don't you just dig it up? wouldn't that be the smart thing to do?

  • dig what up? most of its gone!

  • great setup. Too bad its gone

  • Why The Closure?

  • whats the music?

  • The song's called "TAKE 5", by Dave Brubeck's quartet

  • what year in between 1990 and 1006 did you take this video?????

  • probably around 1994/5 i guess

  • What di8d you do with the trains????

  • did, sorry about the typo

  • all in crates packed away.. had them out bout 6 months ago to see how they are.. all still in working order

  • nice video man...

hey whats the name of that great jazz tune you have goin (the second song) i know its a classic one

  • take 5 by dave brubeck

  • reopen it! would love to see it in action

  • open it again or call the railway preservation socity

  • Cool railroad! Build another one

  • What ever happened to all of the elevated track, small biuldings, and all the sement that held the track in place?

  • The wooden elevated track was removed due to serious rot and being unstable, the tracks all been kept but alot of it needs new sleepers but the ballast and stone walls are still intact, same with the tunnel.

  • Is the Track still there?

  • Will you ever rebuild this railway? Looks like you put alot of effort into it and it just became wasted after it closed.

  • not in this garden! to little time and alot of embankments have gone now along with the viaducts.. only the tunnel remains and thats pretty overgrown and in a bad shape. maybe one day in a new house....

  • i belive the violin pice was the intro from a bbc show in the 80's about old railways, can't remmember what it was called though

  • "the train now departing" all bout the S&C

  • I always wanted a train like this

  • nice!

  • Superb, this has made my weekend!

  • My comments?...already been said by others...nice to discover gems

  • brilliant use of low angle camera work, and editing. using Brubecks 'Take Five' was an inspiration!!

  • Wonderful video. Time marches on....tracks will be put down elsewhere. Nice sound track too.

  • the main music is "Take 5" from the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Can't help with the violin piece - sorry. Excellent piece of film making really impressed

  • It sounds like a medieval piece

  • I, also would like to know from where the Violin piece is from.

  • the violin piece is from the bbc video 'The train now departing' so i extracted the audio .. unfortunatelly i have no idea what the music is called!!

  • Aww, thanks anyway :)

  • Nice. Also where did you get the music from I love it.

  • sad stuff nice line though

  • Nicely done video..I like the way it is done in the same way as the BBC series "the train now departing" ... very clever indeed.

  • Iwas wondering how long it would take for some one to recognise the music and where I had got the idea from!!

  • I really enjoyed the series that's how i recognised the tune. I have an 00 loft layout which has succumbed to a similar fate... but built one in my garden which is still operational.

  • wonderful stuff! put my name down if they ever form a preservation society to resurrect the line! ;-)
