This is one of my favorite guns that I have for almost any tac. situation. New barrel for any flash hider you want to instal and the new mag well for ar mags and even better the pmags. The barrel is interchangabel but only for different situations where a longer barrel is needed not a different cal.its still the 5.56mm nato round. (m855)
OK This is gonna sound stupid because i dont know shit about guns but this rifle is sweet! When you change barrels,is it shooting the same type of bullett or is it a bigger bullett?Sorry if its to stupid a question to respond to.
I'm an AR15 guy, didn't have a high opinion of bullpups being a left handed shooter and all, but when I held one at a gun show yesterday I fell in love with it, I'm now going to save up and get one w/out the optic so I can put an aimpoint T1 on it...very sexy rifle.
Do you think its well balanced weight wise? Ive never handled a bull pulp, but after using ar's for a long time, I don't see how how bull pulp users like the feel of it.
I thought it would end up being overly heavy in back and light up front causing the barrel to want to rise but it felt solid and snug and pretty well balanced. The bullpup I didn't think was all that well balanced was the FS2000. But I haven't yet shot any of them, and I've heard you feel the recoil alot more in the bull pups.
@Antiworld23 If you buy one alot of the AR 15 guys will have rifle envy. This rifle is sleek. Good news a new upper is in the works for the 6.8 caliber and also finally some new barrels are hitting the market. 20inch and 24 inch barrels. myself personally i am going to wait and see what comes out after the 6.8 mm upper comes out. keep the .223 as a carbine for close quarters but get the 6.8mm with a 24 inch barrel for sniping and penetrating walls and shit. LOL
@eduardomjan1973 if your going 24 inch barrel wait for the 6.5 grendel to come out. Waaay better ballistic coefficient than the 6.8. That round would be lethal at 1000 yards.
in all honesty, you really don't need all those rails. One on the side should do you fine (to mount a flashlight when needed). You've got a vertical grip built in already, and if you do buy a 556 'sporter' you could always throw on an aftermarket rail system.
The biggest advantage I see with the e4 is for AR15 guys, with the shared mags, but I really do love those cheap 42 rounders that MSAR makes.
@salmonking007 in case the shit hits the fan scenario those 42 round mags are a must have. LOL :P keep the 20 round mags for sniping in prone position with a bipod.
I wonder if they are going to come out a triple/quad calibers (5.56,5.45,7.62, possibly 6.8) package for the E4 in 20" barrel? I would jump on that in a jiffy.
it is only slightly stiffer than an ar specifically a POF that i dry fired in the store when i got mine so its really not that different to me anyways to each his own though
Just bought my msar E4 today paid $1881 new in box black with rail cant wait to get my hands on it jus wondering if anyone knows if th E4 will take the magpul pmags?
@RIPSTOCK007 pmags are the best. Can't wait for the conversion kit that comes out soon for the STG 556 E4 it will chamber the 6.8 caliber ammo. LOL It is in development so my guess about 12 months it should be out.
Yes its an improved AUG A3. Decent guns, but limited. They can't accept Steyr magazines which was one of the reasons I passed on this gun. They're really nice, but they have spongy triggers and aren't great for going prone. They snag on things too when you carry them in confined spaces.
Personal experience. I bought a Sig 556 after going to a weapons clinic with a buddy of mine. He owns a STG556 with a 6.8 conversion. I was using a modded Mini 14 at the time. Very nice guns but I like my Sig better for the money.
That's odd, since there is no 6.8 conversion for the STG yet. So unless he made the conversion parts himself, you are full of shit. The fact that you would use the words "Weapons Clinic" and "Mini-14" in the same sentence also leads me to believe you are a mall-ninja wannabe. That is all.
Haha to each his own. It was all I had at the time, I have an old stainless Mini my dad gave me when I turned 18 with a folding stock. And there is a 6.8 STG, explain to me why I was putting 6.8 SPC thru it? Thirdly, I'd appreciate you having a little less additude. There's no need to take that kind of tone with someone you don't even know. Stow your ego at the door, we're all here for a common interest.
to many bullshit rails

@NorincoAKS can never have to many rails. Top rail for the scope, bottom rail for the bipod, Side rail for a grenade launcher plus many other gadgets

does it use M16 magazines?

i cant remember which magazine it was, but they did a review of this rifle, and it wasnt all too accurate. but it could be a real nice high power smg

yeah, i think they really should produce this in 7.62x39mm for the extra punch. that would be the ultimate cqb rifle.

Actually, according to the MSAR website, models made without the forward assist do accept AUG A3 magazines. Notice posted in November 2008.
