  • What is Carly's twitter name? I would love to follow her! :)

  • @eRicAboberica23 Her Twitter handle is @carlysvoice

  • I see now what so many others have tried to tell me about my angel. Like I said I've been focused all her life to help her and keep her healthy. She now does so many things purposeful and she is funny, sneaky, smart.... soo sooo smart, stubborn as heck and so loveable. I hope one day Sarah will use a keyboard to express her feelings. We are in the works on getting a augcom device and I hope that is the stepping stones to her being able to express HER. Thank you for sharing your story!

  • I cried with joy when I saw this video. Carly, what a special, beautiful young girl you are. Keep it up! I would love to read your book one day. What an encouragement you are to other young adults with Autism. May God bless you!

  • Not sure who you are but I did invite someone to my house and he didn't take me up on it. We do collaborate with experts all the time fyi -we work with ABA providers/consultants/PhD's + SLP's and OT's who consult to us as well. As for intimate aspects of Carly's life --she shares what SHE is willing to share --WE don't decide that -- she does. Contact me if u r going to be in Toronto. Also, we will be filming/posting something to her website to put all of you skeptic to rest.

  • Wow! This IS the MOST amazing videos I have ever seen! I answers so many, questions that I have regarding my daughter Sarah. She is a beautiful special needs girl that really has never spoken a word. Her communication is from gestures, laughing, crying, pulling to what she wants. As a mom, all I have ever focused on is helping her progress with her issues. She is now 7 and with all the therapies she has had her whole life, I as her mom am seeing her and HER personality for the first time.

  • @TammyStarr1961 Those of us whose job it is to help children with autism do not treat them as "lab rats". Many families whose children have made impressive gains with communication are more than happy to collaborate with experts so as to help other kids. It seems strange to invite media attention and then balk at calls for evidence of her skills. Don't you want to put doubts to rest? Given how many other intimate aspects of Carly's life you're ok with sharing, why not this?

  • This is Carly's mother -- Carly is not a lab rat nor is she an academic experiment. She is a girl who types instead of speaks with her mouth. That being said, to quell the skeptics out there, we will be posting footage of her typing at length. We are not trying to PROVE anything nor is she a medical miracle -she has lots of nonverbal friends with autism who also type. This skill is a result of years and years of intervention + innate intelligence.

  • If Carly Fleischmann can provide "real insight" into the inner lives of individuals with autism, then why aren't more academics or researchers writing about her? Perhaps because it's impossible to find video that demonstrates Carly can type a complete sentence, let alone a paragraph, from start to finish. If this is truly a medical miracle, then we need to see something miraculous happen. Pushing a button to trigger pre-written text doesn't prove anything. This is not acceptable journalism.

  • Dear Carly Fleichmann and family,

There are so many children out there with this diagnosis that you have helped by this. Maybe this can be a new way to teach them ALL to communicate. You have giving everyone an inside view on how this medical condition feels inside. Explanations why you bang your head, flail, hum, rock. Etc... I quote "Our brains are wired differently." God bless you girl. You are going to be famous... I will totally buy your book. You’re an inspiration to all.
