Fuck! I knew my time was good but I did not realise how good, If I can find the VHS with it on I will post the video. 1'01"00 using Koopa. And that is not even the fastest I have seen it done in. I have seen an under a minute done using Koopa

The time was done by a Swedish player on the European PAL version of the game which runs slower. On the America/Japanese NTSC version players have reached mid 1'05"s

However your time is very strong still, you should check out the World rankings there are many players competing on there for best times.

One ting I noticed on the PAL version is that if you hit the sides you dont slow down as much as the NTSC version. In the NTSC version you lose all the acceleration that was built up.

Different character on the game has different attributes, speed, turning and weight, heavier classes had poor acceleration and turning, while the very light classes had good turning and acceleration but poorer speed.

The heavy guys had high power engines, so if u got the boost off the start and used the jumping powerslides to turn, that nullified the poor acceleration and handling.

Basically meaning the fastest car could skillfully be used without dropping off top speed virtually.

it's played on console and recorded with a video capture card. You mean why D.K.Jr. is so fast? He and Bowser are the fastest characters in the game, that's just how it is. The end is there, i dont know what you mean exactly. And I dont know why the ghost is solid either, might be something with the settings i used when i captured it.
