This is a rare Wrigley's opening title [Charles Lyon announcing, who was also Gene's announcer on "MELODY RANCH"], with a direct "pitch" by Gene for Doublemint before the start of the episode (with GENE's opening title). Gene knew the value that future syndication would have on his filmed series, so he "separated" the Doublemint titles and his "pitches" so that the episodes would "stand alone" without any hint of who originally sponsored it.
Respond to this video...To bad they changed Doublemint and all the flavors. I think Wrigley was sold. I doubt Gene would endorse it the way it taste now.
I hate to say this , Gene looked like he was reading every word he was saying about Doublemint gum !!! No Oscar for that performance.

Wrigley was acquired by Mars, Inc. a few years ago, 'yrtuag'. Perhaps Autry might object to the way it tastes now....
