Also, I was born only in 1973, so did not participate in any atrocities against Serbs during WW1, but can tell you two things I know: one, my grandfather fought with the Russians against the Germans (one of only a few hundred survivors out of 20 or 30 thousand on the Drava river in Hungary..)
When newly liberated Bulgaria was split in two by the so called great powers, and we're uniting against the will of all of those so called great powers (including our liberators, the Russians), who attacked us then? ..It was the Serb army led by Austro-Hungarians. Това ли е земния рай? Има ли всъщност "земен" рай? За мен тази песен, чийто първоначален вариант е много хубав, към днешна дата страда от един основен недостатък - тя е загубила ДУШАТА СИ. Дали от многото редакции, дали по друга причина - не зная и не се наемам да твърдя.
Помислете само. С презастроеното от алчност черноморие? С изсечените и запалени пак от алчност гори? С пустеещите ни от мързел полета, нивя и овощни градини? С чалгата, която ни залива отвсякъде? С пустеещите и разорени църкви и манастири? С духовния упадък на нацията?

От ретроспекцията на текста на "Мила Родино", която Djrudibg прави, много ясно се вижда как е била осакатена тази песен. Накрая се е получило едно безлично изброяване на няколко географски обекта и заключението, че сме "земен рай"... А дали това е така наистина?

In today's world, I think Americans are not studying history. Us in the Balkans are hopelessly stuck into it; and the French and Germans are the ones who have managed to learn their lessons from it, but still move forward..

Also, I was born only in 1973, so did not participate in any atrocities against Serbs during WW1, but can tell you two things I know: one, my grandfather fought with the Russians against the Germans (one of only a few hundred survivors out of 20 or 30 thousand on the Drava river in Hungary..)

От ретроспекцията на текста на "Мила Родино", която Djrudibg прави, много ясно се вижда как е била осакатена тази песен. Накрая се е получило едно безлично изброяване на няколко географски обекта и заключението, че сме "земен рай"... А дали това е така наистина?

Не случайно дедите ни са умирали в боя с "Шуми Марица" на уста. Днес не мога да си представя, как ще вляза в бой с "Мила Родино" например? Да пази Бог, да не се налага!

Това не е моят химн и ще се аргументирам защо. Защото в днешната "Мила Родино" няма живец, няма душа. Според мен истинският български химн, който е способен да възпламени душата и сърцето ми с вълна от патриотични чувства е старият "ШУМИ МАРИЦА"!
